  • Our adventure to an abandoned mine in the Entiat Mining District of Chelan County of Eastern Washington State. Join us we explore this abandoned nickel mine which was staked in the 1890's. Watch as we discover a rare mineral we have never before encountered in a Washington State Mine.
THE MAJORITY OF THE MINE NAMES ARE CHANGED OR ALTERED IN OUR VIDEOS TO PROTECT HISTORIC ARTIFACTS AND PREVENT THE SITE FROM BECOMING A NUISANCE SITE. IN SOME CASES WE HAVE BEEN GRANTED PRIVATE PROPERTY PERMISSION AND WE HAVE BEEN ASKED NOT TO DISCLOSE LOCATIONS.
Many ghost towns, mines and other forgotten historic sites in Washington State have already disappeared from history and many more are being lost each year to the ravages of time, wildfire, vandalism, and intentional closure. In addition to our many years of photographic documentation of these important historic sites we are now attempting to video document as many sites as we can so there is a lasting record of these places for future generations.
We hope you enjoy what we do and will join us on our adventures through a bygone era of Washingtons rich and colorful history. Not only do we love the history we explore and document, but we truly enjoy sharing these sites and experiences with our followers and viewers.
We appreciate you and thank you for Watching!!

I have never seen a more colorful mine. Those hair particles were awesome to see in person, I bet.

It was pretty unusual and spectacular. It probably didn't show on film as well as it could have. Appreciate the comment.

I hiked up to this mine a couple years ago and was going to explore it, except a rattle snake was guarding the entrance, lol.

A number of years ago, I think about fifteen years ago or there about I took a professional miner up to that mine. You may know him Tim. We'll call him Jim M.. Jim wouldn't go in with me, because he said whether you know it or not, you're breathing in those crystals in microscopic sizes. I guess the lungs don't do well with those in them. That's just a heads up in case others find the mine and want to bring samples home. If so, it would be a damn good idea to wear a mask when removing them.

Daryl, that is a valid point. We definitely were mindful of that, as we mentioned. It's not a bad idea for an N95 in most of the eastern dry mines. Appreciate you sharing that and commenting as always.

Looks like gypsum. From hydrostatic water pressure

Also in the very bottom of the mine was an emptied pepper spray bottle, I wonder what the story of that is

Interesting, yeah, wouldn't mind knowing the story behind that.

@ghosttownsandminesofwashington In that enclosed space who ever spayed it also sprayed themselves, maybe coyotes or something
