@TheSuperloner123 It's technically a game. It's something called a Visual Novel, and in Japan VNs are normally fairly interactive, but Umineko doesn't have any intractable parts until the 8th book. That doesn't mean it isn't fun though, the interactivity for the first 7 stems from you, the reader, attempting to figure out the truth behind the murders and learning/changing with the main characters. It's brilliant. ^_^
EP3's op is the same as EP1's. EP4 was the only one with a different opening. The second opening shown in this video (with all the names and stuff) was never really used in the game. :X
I never really understood what the fuck was going on with Maria in the painting, and also why the hell there was the fan-made Virgilia portrait at some point

it's a tad bit more than a animation, these are the introductions for visual novels (or sound novels), where the story is told through a series of background images, charactor sprites and dialog boxes. they also use specific types of music and sounds to discribe the situration to the reader, with out writing a 4 page description on it. finally, the first 4 intros are simular due to the mystery of the story of each arc. while the 5th/6th song is different due to the mystery being 'solved?'
+Griffon Umineko no Naku Koro Ni or When the Seagulls Cry These openings are from the visual novels, but there is an anime too. Its a notoriously bad adaptation though

ひぐらし、うみねこのループ設定がシュタゲの発想源になってるのは間違いないし、カオスヘッドの「妄想の具現化」という発想も
思えばうみねこの幻想描写が元ネタなのかもしれない。竜騎士との交流が鬼才千代丸を育てたと言っても過言ではないと思う
なんだかんだ言って竜騎士は、商業アニメ・漫画とも違う同人的なコンテンツを成長させた立役者の一人なんだなぁと
