their story was so “right person wrong time” it makes me bawl my eyes out. i think deep down rory loved jess the most but even as a jess girl ik jess was wrong at times and it was mostly because of his life. i’ll always be team jess tho

It's bc it was the wrong time. Jess in that specific time doesn't heal. He doesn't even know wft was happened in his life. And Rory was so comfortable en a relationship with a no-broken boy. But jess was broken. And Rory have no responsibility to repear him.
The song fits Jess's perspective so well like how the whole town was against him but Rory wasn't ("and when I felt like I was an old cardigan, you put me on and said I was your favorite"). Also, the scene parallels to the lyrics were perfectly put together such as "steppin' on the last train" when Jess leaves town on the bus, "I knew you'd haunt all of my what-ifs" when Rory talks about the hundreds of scenarios she thought of if she ever met Jess again, "chasin' shadows in the grocery line" when she sees him at the grocery store, and "you'd be standin' in my front porch light" with the scenes at her front door. How did you even remember/find the exact scenes for the lyrics?!?! Your mind is too powerful.

And that was the point Rory finally heard it all as it was and realized how much of a mess her life had become and that she wasn't happy

I agree. Rory's character really fell apart especially seeing the revival series. The writers literally mirrored Jess and Rory's relationship to Lorelai and Luke's relationship. I loved the idea of lorelai and luke being together but you can really see how they've torn each other down. So, either Jess would be able to build Rory back up or Rory will end up destroying Jess, who's finally become happy and successful (a lot of which i would tribute to her impact on him when he was a teen). The unfortunate thing is all her boyfriends have been relatively good (with a few flaws as all humans have) so its sad to see that she keeps feeling the need to search for someone new or that she could do better.

Imagine if she went with Jess when he came to Yale instead of going off with married dean. I think she always loved Jess but was scared of him hurting her. She kissed Jess when she was in a relationship with both dean and Logan but she never cheated when she was with Jess.
I love the growth and development of Jess across the show, especially after the ending of the four seasons, he's going to be to rory what luke was to lorelay, it's so beautiful ❤️.

Jess was my favorite character, his relationship with luke was a realistic teen and guardian relationship, he was smart but school wasn’t a priority to him, from the outside he looked like a bad ass or something but he was so not that, his character development and how he treated people around him was interesting too

I read a perspective where we can basically just infer that Rory did end up with Jess like how we saw Lorelai end up with Luke. Logan and Rory were like Lorelai and Christopher, always on and off again, a true flame never really shaken. But Jess is Rory’s Luke and as we saw with Lorelai, she always finds her way back to him. After all, the two Gilmore girls are very similar☺️ that was my take on the revival ending

Personally I think that it’s not better but I’m glad it’s different, in a lot of love triangles most of the fan base hates one of the characters. For example The Hunger Games, most everyone hates Gale. But now we hate the main character

Taylor said it’s canon that Betty and James (the made up characters the lyrics of Cardigan, Betty and August are about) get back together in the end and grow old together. I think we all kno that Rory and Jess are endgame by that look in the revival so... 😭❤️

She treated Dean like shit trying to bury her feelings, but at the same time, Dean should've had the sense to stop being so pathetic and just broke it off. You knew she wasn't in love with you anymore, you knew she was interested in someone else, but you clung to her for dear life. You should've brought it up or called her out in private, not in front of the whole town. Plus, Rory and Dean literally had no chemistry, as opposed to Jess and Rory. While rewatching the series, while everyone was leaving the inn after the Bracebridge dinner, they locked eyes and I swear to god someone should've walked in between them and dangled a pair of hotel keys. You could've cut the sexual tension with a knife.

I watched the entire series so quickly a couple of years ago and I think I just have to re watch it now
i always come back to this edit, it really makes me feel so warm inside and at the same time so nostalgic. i just moved out of my parents' house and back to my country of birth and watching this now is so different. i used to watch gg with my mom during quarantine and at the time i was also going through a break up so yeah a lot of mixed feelings are attached to this edit, but that's why i love it so much.
I blame Lorelei. I fully believe Jess and Rory were soulmates but Lorelei couldn’t stand the thought of not being with Luke, and Rory being too attached to her moms happiness pushed herself away from Jess. Rory literally went crazy trying to always please her mom. It was kind of a toxic relationship.

This is definitely the best on screen chemistry from any movie or series I saw. Only season 2 and part of 3 with Jess was worth watching out of the whole series. I never saw two people with a better interaction and attraction, loved it. I believe she would always go back to Jess just as her mom Lorelei always goes back to Luke.
