Great tutorial. The screen grabs are a little out of date as at 25.05.2023. "Play animation" is now labelled "Tile Animation". I did lots of swears before I figured that out :D
Traps, Trammels, and Triggers is a premium module for Foundry which means it will need to be purchased. You can find more information here: foundryvtt.com/packages/traps-trammels-and-triggers Currently there is also a small change needed to get it to work with MATT, however the fix shouldn't take more than 2-3 minutes. Great video! I have two questions: 1) I'd like to make pnjs do a walkthrough automatically. I'm having trouble with MATT. 2) I've seen that the rune used as a teleportation point lights up. I'd like to do the same. How can I do it?
Great demo. I like the trap actor method. I've just been using the built-in damage option, but I can see that using a trap actor can open up a huge range of possibilities (like triggering active effect animations?).
I personally prefer the trap actor method for a few reasons. It helps me keep myself organized, having potential attacks, spells, etc. in one place. I find the setup to be incredibly easy. (It's very similar to what I did before using the Trigger Happy module.) You can definitely use it to fire off whatever animations you want.
I can't change the "When" tab in this module, it is automatically set to "Enter" and whenever I try to change it I can't click on it... I think they've changed their interface in the newer version? How can I change the triggering condition "Click" for example?
Is there a way to save the tile? I want to create a tile that is a snare trap (did it), but would like to have access to it over and over, so if my PC wants to drop a snare I can do that easy enough.
For some reason The Tile won't see the Inventory of the Traps, Trammels, and Triggers module, I followed it to a "T" and the only option for the attack is showing up with just the greatsword attack.
Yup! That's an issue right now and there's a pull request on the Github page. The fix is pretty easy though and can be done in a matter of minutes - check out my pinned comment.
When I go to select my actor to perform the attack it will not put it in the trigger action. Tried multiple times with no luck. Am I doing something wrong? Follow your video to the "T"!
Don't know if you will get this or already figured it out, I finally found the creators Discord and found out it is a known bug/issue with the current build. Hopefully it will be fixed when the creator can get around to it. Saw your comment and figured I would pass along the info since it took me so long to find it. I'm currently looking at far more complicated work arounds and macros.
My only problem with this is whenever a token triggers a trap that uses a spell, I get the spell prompt where I have to choose casting level, place measured template and if I want to consume the spell slot. Is there any way to avoid this on this actor alone?
I did a quick test. Its not fully automated mind. I made an actor and gave it a hunting trap. It was activated by player but I had to do the rolls etc once triggered. Im sure if you went to the foundry discord, and went into macro-polo, someone could do a macro to automate it.
Thanks for the overview and the link to the page to purchase...are the tile animations also included with the Traps-Trammels-and-Triggers or are you a patron of Jinkers (to get the animations)...might specify so not misleading in any way :).
Sure thing! The animated tiles were created by Jinker. I did get them from subscribing to Jinker's patreon. Those animations are not included in the Traps-Trammels-And-Triggers module. The trap items in that module will work with any tile, I just thought the animated tiles by Jinker looked quite nice. I pinned a comment related to the traps module, I'll add some more information soon to add clarity. Thanks for the heads up about possible confusion.
@@mr.weaver6742 Hey np I love your work...Monk's tiles have changed my life lol :). Wish Jinker and JB2A would sell 1 time packs like a spell pack or trap pack etc..so many patreons to keep track of. JB2A/Jinker/Mr. Primate etc...

Nice Tutorial, I have a question here. How can it deal with flying creatures? Like a lava pool wouldn't hurt someone jumping or flying over it, etc.
