I heard a recording Ponti made in the 70s I believe @ Town Hall in NYC. Beethoven op. 2,#3, six studies from Chopin op. 25, including the 3 played here, Brahms Paganini Variations Books 1& 2 & Liszt La Campanella. Maybe there was an encore, I recall hearing the record in 1987, I think, in Chicago. What a tremendous pianist & magisterial musician. I'm sorry I never heard him live but his recorded legacy is both dense & superb.
