      I agree, the way he said it sounded very ignorant in my opinion. Following your passion in a strategic, practical and long based goal way is a part of the passion. Following your passion doesn't mean to have fun everyday or love every step of the way, it just means that you put all your grit, effort and sweat into making your passion work as a reality career, and that includes realistic planning and practical work by default.
      Now you may make or not make it, but if you don't even make the effort you will most likely have a lingering anxiety in your gut for the rest of the life telling you "What if..". Because that's what it means to have a passion, it's stronger than just a hobby or interest, it's basically an obsession that you really can't shake away.

And if I don‘t succeed, that means my art doesn‘t attract people and therefore makes me no money.
      So basically: An artists, that never earns a dime with his art, can‘t be considered successful in this day and age. If his art would be appealing to people, he‘d somehow make money off of it, even if he isn‘t really chasing the money. • @Thadnill
      @Thadnill ปีที่แล้ว +17

      @@OZEEtube Well, I'd say that money is not the only factor that determines success. You can be a millionaire but still suffer from anxiety, depression, materialistic obsession, etc. Money is just a tool to solve problems easier, but not the way to measure "real success".
      I'd say that real success is simply measured in how content you are in life, your choices, your purpose and what you do with it. If you're not at peace with yourself despite the overflow of money then you're not really a "success". If you're extremely poor then you're most likely not successful either, it's not that black and white, I believe success is a combination in being authentic to yourself. your purpose and what you do in your life - and in addition to that also have enough tools/recourses (money) to live a decently comfortable life.
      Someone who chases money just for the sake of chasing money will most likely be stuck in the hamster wheel and feeling a void that's constantly being filled with materialistic distractions, but someone who ignores the value of money will suffer a lot too but in different and opposite ways, neither is really good.

      You need to know your standard.
      Do you wanna be rich? Or do you just want to follow your passion and be content if it can sustain you?
      I for example have worked in so many different jobs amd I could solve there problems in a heart beat as a consultant. But as I am not a consultant per se, noone wants to listen to me. And any otger job I hate. They all make me feel useless, unapreciated and exploited. So I got depressed. Now after some help I got better and noe I do what I love. Which is film making. True. I am not earning any money and I am even spending some. But I love what I am doing and I don't even care. And noe some people come to me for some videos and I say yes or no wheather they pay and under what conditions.
      So don't follow your passion is also a lie. Just cause it didn't work for that guy in the video doesn't mean it's a lie. He just got a taste of money and wanted to pursue money. Good for him. Is this your priority?
      Than solve a practical problem. How? Well that he doesn't say. Why? Cause all rich people don't want to get other people rich.
      It's all a side of the same coin.

    I think finding something that you’re really passionate about is actually the key to building wealth. You want to be in the top percentile of whatever you are doing and the only way to get there is to put in an insane amount of time and energy (10k-20k hours), and the only way you are going to be able put in that time and energy is if you love what you’re doing.

    Iman, thank you dude, this video has really made me reconsider the viability of my plans. I followed my passion and started a degree in philosophy, paying for myself while doing so and scraping by from working dishwashing jobs. It's been really tough, but my love for the subject keeps me going forward. My dream is to bring philosophy into the education system in South Africa, the country I'm from, at high school level. There is (as I see it) a strong need in my country for the cultivation of critical thinking skills, which are essential both in business and in making citizens more politically aware and engaged, and I am privileged enough to be in a position to start something like that. But my project is more of a humanitarian type than a business (I don't make money with it, and rely on donations only). Nonetheless, thank you for opening up a topic that most people wouldn't question for questioning!

    This is what we hear everywhere but the truth is, some or even most people are confused of how or when they will encountered failure in life.
    *IT IS WHEN YOU START PURSUING SUCCESS (What You Want To Become )*
    But when you encounter failure, do not give up, continue, because you will achieve it if you continue.

I learnt this lesson the hard way from my last business which I ended up hating because my passion had just turned into a job and all I was doing was chasing the next client not actually doing the work I was passionate about. I’ve learnt to keep these separate now. Still figuring out the solving a problem part for my next attempt because this whole “follow your passion” that is constantly been drilled into our heads is BS! By every guru out there and I’m like naaah man. Most of the people who’ve made it in a massive way are in pretty boring but practical businesses solving real world problems. You end up resenting the thing you love in the end. 100% on the money with this Iman.
