@@Agrihabit it's only for aquired vessels sir. After the mandate when a ferry company buys a ship over 20 years old it cannot carry passengers. But ships that are already serving and are already over 20 Years still serve the country

It will cripple the entire transportation and shipping industry. As much as shipping owners would want to buy/build a brand new vessel, it is still financially expensive. That's why MARINA came up with a compromise or a solution to regulate the age of the importation of new ships, as well as give incentives and perks to shipping companies who will acquire brand-new ships. But then again, the age of ships is not really that big of an issue just for as long as it is regularly, and properly maintained. There are many ships outside the country like Europe that are more than 30-50 years old that are still sailing and are still in good condition. As for your inquiry on MARINA about the seaworthiness of the ships, we are not the right persons to answer your question :)
