A true classic narrated by a wonderful narrator. Hearing English people narrate this story is amazing. It sets the scene so well! I love this story. I howled in laughter when I heard James read this to a bunch of students on Christmas Eve. He would be run out of the building and hauled off by the police if he did that today. As an expat now living in FL for many many years, I’m still much more drawn to British programs than US programs due to the quality. Also, my American wife is in the same boat. I studied to do voice over work, but it didn’t pan out for me.
I am very open to letting other people read. I just need good quality audio. I can edit it and even clean it up a bit. So, if you or your wife are interested, let me know.
I read all of MR James when I was a kid. Iwas a weird kid. Btw, I wonder if any narrator will be able to discern an East Anglian accent, where the stories are set, from the ubiquitous 'Mumerset'.
Which one? They are available from the dreaded Amazon as paperbacks but as ebooks from google, Apple, Kobo, etc. Let me know which one and I will work something out
