So while the Iowas didnt have the most AA guns of any battle ship(That title goes to the yamato covered in 25mm aa guns), the Iowas do arguably have the most effective aa of any battle ship as the aa guns on the Yamatos were less effective compared to their American counterparts. Still love both ships though.
You can fire HE shells from a battle ship but only in very very specific situations like maybe you’re the last ship and there is a dd hunting you or smoked up in front of you

HE is more effective against a Kaga. You'll get more citadels on a Kaga with BB HE shells than you will with AP. I know, does not sound right, but its true. I almost never get a citadel on a kaga with AP but almost every shot with HE gets at least one.
This was a good video. But this video also show cases a huge thing I wish WG fix well two things, to many of the same ship type I.E the four Iowa's well three, but New Jersey is still an Iowa, the Last thing is to many of one class of ship 5 BBs perside is bad to me at least to. BBs and DDS should be limited to 2 or 3 per game, But one the plus side, at least both sides were even in class of ships, not like one side had 5 bbs to the others 4 then they got a Tier higher CL, been in to many of those matches, because I pull the CL, on my side when I play BB, and get two BBs, to fight, fun times are had by all,

If the RNG doesn't screw you, the "matchmaking" sure will. Just finished up five losses in a row. Most ships my teams managed to kill? Three.

Don't forget about the armor especially the lower side plating since it's 38mm top to bottom vs Iowa and Jersey that are 38 on top but 25 below.

i think the iowa had 500-100 extra people for aa guns
Iowas were originally supposed to have 1900 personnel onboard i believe and in WW2 they launched with like 2700 sailors to man all the AA guns
