    • @SailingKawai
      @SailingKawai  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello and thank you :) we have solar panels and an inverter on board. The solar panels are enough to charge the tender engine for the small amount we use it. Hope that helps!

    Hey team great work on getting your first tuna they always taste better when you catch em yourself ;) Nice chilled out video once again. Is your new adventure as good as it looks and as you'd thought it would be? or is it better? Not sure if you remember me but I think it was last time I commented I had said my wife and I are looking for a sail boat. Anyway we have made an offer on a really well maintained little 34 foot (2004) Dufour its been accepted and now its all down to the sea trial and survey etc. As you can imagine we are beside our selves with excitement and shitting ourselves at the same time LOL... We do not have much sailing experience. We have only had motor boats in the past. OK thanks heaps for sharing your adventures it's come at a great time for us and please keep the vids coming. Stay safe cheers please and enjoy, Pedro.

    • @SailingKawai
      @SailingKawai  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Pedro, yes of course we remember! Yay, congratulations that's very exciting!! Hope the survey and sea trial go well, let us know. Our adventure is way better than we were expecting and we've only just begun. There are some challenging times but they are some of the best times and also make the 'good' times better. I think it can also depend on your perspective, we've come from both working full time to sailing full time, I know what I would prefer :)

      @@SailingKawai Hey guys when you have a moment could you clarifier a quick question for me please about yacht/boat licencing. I've been told all I need to sail in the Mediterranean is a transit log (which we will have for our new boat) and an ICC . Is our Australian boat licence recognised here in Turkey/Europe. I'm Asking for insurance purposes and what we may need. Thanks heaps guys :) I've been struggling to get a clear answer lol....

    • @pedropedroztravels8272
      @pedropedroztravels8272 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      oh yeah we will have a US flag. too btw thanks

    • @SailingKawai
      @SailingKawai  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Pedro Pedroz Travels hey Pedro, yep you need an ICC, transit log and for Turkey a blue card (for waste). I also have a radio license for the VHF which I think you require but I’m not sure if anyone has looked at it yet (it was in the folder given to our agent in Turkey and Greece but not sure if they looked at it), Croatia they didn’t. In regards to insurance ours wanted to know what qualifications and experience I had I’m not sure how it would have effected insurance if I didn’t have the ICC, you may need to ask the insurance company that sorry. We are Aussie flag. Hope that helps!

    • @SailingKawai
      @SailingKawai  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Pedro Pedroz Travels further to your question, I had a general boat license in Australia but got the ICC specifically for our trip to Europe. I did the ICC in Australia.

    did you have a net? or did you just pull that tuna out the sea? Oh and tell us more about the MINEFIELD!!!!!

    • @SailingKawai
      @SailingKawai  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Leon, no we didn't have a net, just lifted the tuna up on deck :). We didn't anchor off Albania so there wasn't much to stress about. Navionics warns you that you are sailing over minefields. Albania use to have a huge stockpile of weapons. Hope you enjoyed the video and thanks for watching!

    Hi Guys, was good to see you survived your first overnight passage with just the 2 of you, this is one hurdle Hayley and I will have to face if / when we can ever find a boat! Funnily enough we fly out to Croatia tomorrow for more boat viewings (only 1 445 tho and not in the light wood). We will be there at least 2 weeks and will have a car. If we can be of any assistance please let us know. Or if you just fancy meeting up for some drinks. However, meeting up with strangers from TH-cam probably isn't top of your list of things to do haha. Anyway, you can find out more about us at www.scribblingexplorers.com all the best. Nick

      @SailingKawai  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Nick and Hayley, great, who are you viewing boats with? Good luck we hope you find a boat you like. Thanks for the offer, appreciate it. Where will you be based? We will mostly be around the islands near Split but also planning to anchor near Trogir at some point so maybe we could catch up there? Let us know would be great to catch up if we can!

    • @HNDevelopments
      @HNDevelopments 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SailingKawai hello, our first viewings are in Split tomorrow morning, a dark wood Hanse and a light wood Ocoanis 45. That's with Almissani broker. Then it's down to Dubrovnik where we are seeing an elan 45 with Approved Boats (UK company). We decided to stay in Dubrovnik until the 28th to see all the boats in the south and then most likely back to split. Hopefully we can get something sorted 👍

    Great
    Video thanks
    In the 1980s everyone was so scared of Albania because some
    Tourists who fell asleep on air beds and floated out to communist Albania from Corfu were machine gunned by enthusiastic albanian army recruits we were very much warned about this danger back then
    Funny how places change

    • @SailingKawai
      @SailingKawai  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Geez!! That's a bit crazy and not all that long ago. I'm pretty glad it has changed, would have had to sail to Croatia via Italy otherwise. Glad you enjoyed the vid, thanks for watching :)
