Been using No. 3 since 2016 and it’s been a game changer! My go to after I do any bleaching & toning at home so that my hair isn’t vulnerable. It really makes the biggest difference in not just locking in each strand of hair, but it helps eliminate split-end fly aways that are due to heat tools & blow drying without heat protection, hair bands, and not brushing correctly dry or wet.

@@princess4aking I started using olaplex no.3 about 3 weeks ago, and I’m extremely careful about how I go about using it. I make sure to wash my hair with a clarifying shampoo before I apply olaplex, so that whatever products i used on my hair are washed off and won’t interfere with the olaplex chemicals. I apply only a quarter of the bottle, 25ml, to only the parts of my hair that have been bleached, leave it on for no longer than 20 min and make sure to wash all of it completely out of my hair before I condition my hair.
If anything, olaplex has softened my hair and reduced breakage by a LOT!

1 month ago my hair was heavily damaged by a Brazilian blowout and honestly, I thought I had no choice except to cut it. But then I decided to try No 3 and it fully repaired my hair in just two weeks! And now, after one month, it looks even better than I ever had. Love it sooo much.
Added also No 0 to my routine, but the whole bottle finished after 6 rituals. It helped to recover my hair faster, but not sure if I will buy it again considering the price per use.

The number 0 is not necessary to use as a primer before number 3, my hair is so thick that I only got three uses out of the 0 bottle so it was not cost effective. Water to pre damp before number 3 works just as well. 💕🇨🇦🇬🇧

Generally, no, you do not need to shampoo before using N°.3. However, if you have a lot of product on your hair, it is always a good idea to cleanse the hair before your treatment. Use your best judgment.

I discovered your channel a few months ago and now I'm addicted.I respect your hard work and honesty.
Please can you tell me how much product I should use?A pea size for every damaged area or more? The label says to use a lot but you said to never trust labels and anyway the bottle is pretty small so if I follow their recommendations I would run out of product so fast and that means that I couldn't afford to use it more than once or twice and I REALLY need to repair my hair. I almost don't recognize my own hair when I look in the mirror,it's so fine, dry, frizzy and not nearly as full as it used to be that I even thought about buying a wig...😢

This is the advice I was looking for. I was so confused about all the olaplex products and I wanted to know which was actually the strongest. I know that 1 and 2 are the strongest but are for salon use only . I thought olaplex 0 was the strongest of the home use products but just a weaker version of olaplex 1 . Before now I didn't understand why we needed to apply it before using olaplex 3. But I realise now that olaplex 3 needs to be applied to wet hair so olaplex 0 could just be water but as they wanted us to pay for another product hence olaplex 0 was created. Thank you for your helpful videos your advice saves us time and money and hopefully a chance of having better hair.

While I normally agree with not needing to buy multiple products, I have to disagree with this video and will say that using both No 0 with No 3 has been GAME CHANGING for healing my bleached fine hair. I started just with No 3 when I first started bleaching my dark brown hair and it was pretty good. But nothing beats out incorporating No 0. My routine now is right after bleaching, for the entire first month, I only use Olaplex No 0 and 3 every time I wash my hair (2x a week). Make sure you wash your hair first (as recommended by Olaplex) and then microfiber towel dry til damp. Then you put in No 0 and 3. I also keep it in longer than written on the description - 1 hour for No 0, and then overnight with No 3. I wash it out the next morning and then use the proper styling products. After 1 month of doing this, I shift to switching between a purple hair mask (I like the Loreal) once a week (no purple shampoo! They're awful and fry your hair out) and then a different nourishing moisturizing mask the second wash of the week. I fill in my roots/bleach my hair every 3 months. I literally get stopped on the street all the time with people complimenting my bleached color and how it's so healthy. Hope this helps!

Number 3 completely changed my hair in one use - I was astounded. I thought it might be a fluke, but no - I have been using it for a few months now and my hair has never ever been so soft, shiny and easy to manage. I usually have wild curls that turns to frizz and I straighten (a lot!) It got into a horrible mess during the lockdowns, totally dry and would snap off with brushing, straightening or just washing. Now it looks and feels amazing. I’ve been using it for a while but I’m still shocked every time I pass a mirror 😆

    • @emm8357
      @emm8357 2 ปีที่แล้ว +10

@@amperage8032 so I don’t colour my hair, but you can use Olaplex on any hair type as just day to day brushing, weather etc can break the bonds in your hair - so you can get the benefits even if you don’t use colour or heat.
I’ve tried it two ways - once before shampooing and also after shampooing (I then use 3, then shampoo again and condition). This method worked way better for me - if you don’t shampoo first, Olaplex is going to have to get through any layers of product, pollution or oil before it can get to work on your hair. So I’d say shampoo a little, use 3, wait for 10-20 minutes, then shampoo and condition like normal. Let me know if you have any other questions!

Just found your channel & subscribed after the 1st video, this is the 2nd one. I started bleaching my hair a lil over a year ago & also had COVID a yr ago. Well I noticed my hair was thinning & a lot of breakage. So I talked to my doctor & she said it was from COVID. Now I know some of the breakage was from bleaching, but I lost hair where the bleach didn’t touch. Anyway, my hairstylist got me the Olaplex products 0, 3, 4, 5 & 6. I was using them all twice a week (usually wash once a week) & noticed a difference after the 1st couple of uses. I then had her get me 4P & more 3 & 6, she also got me 7. My hair is way longer & looks healthy again. Thank you so much for this info b/c now I will be sticking to just #3 & maybe 7!! I highly recommend you - if you haven't heard of it - to get to know the Curly Girl Method (CGM) that works for lots of curly and wavy ones just like me. ☺️
If you decide to follow the method it can be useful to know that only Olaplex 0-3 are CGM-friendly products, the rest contain either sulfates or silicones or other components that aren't good for every curly/wavy hair.
I wish you good luck for becoming curly again! ☺️

The curls on my crown is by far the hardest to get it to curl. The hard part is not being able to get a 3-4 day curly wash without wanting to wash from all the products I have to put in to not be frizzy. When I straighten it I use heat protection and a bit of oil and it lasts me 5 days longer if I’m lazy.

Is there an alternative to olaplex with similar results? I'm always a heavy review reader and the reviews on the number 3 are down right horrifying at times. It's like there is only two extremes it works miracles or it completely destroys your hair. I don't know if it's Long Covid or what is going on but I am losing my hair in droves and it's become so thin and not due to aging (mid 30's) and I don't even wish to attempt this if I run the risk of losing even MORE of my hair.

Thank you for the video and for being so clear and honest. I use Olaplex 3 for over 6 months now and I would say that if you use styling products, I would recommend washing hair before applying Olaplex 3 for better absorption and efficiency because buildup of products can stop Olaplex working properly. So I wash my hair once before applying Olaplex 3, then leave it overnight and in the morning I wash out again with 1 shampoo and then condition or use hair mask. I hope it helps.

Honestly, I use and own all Olaplex products (excluding 1 and 2). I used to be a product junkie and would ALWAYS try new products to see what works best for me. Only using Olaplex has helps me stray away from purchasing products just to try them out. Their system works GREAT for me. The only other brand I use is Kenra for some other products, but it’s kept my hair care products to the literal minimum. My closet used to be filled with hair products I’ve purchased and never completed. My family has been taking them off of my hands, so luckily they’re not going to waste. Lol
Also, Olaplex has helped my hair tremendously. Just wanted to let that be known as well.

I agree. He basically said…you can use all of the styling products, so they are good. Then, he recommends 3, which is also great. 4 and 5 was not a peck heavy on my very, very fine hair, so I’m my opinion that are great…I haven’t used them long enough for them to feel heavy…but, it is a clarifying shampoo so imm not sure how it can be heavy. 0 is a prep for 3, and I tend to need a oil no matter what, so to be honest I’m inclined to agree the entire line is awesome.

I bought no. 3 for myself and daughter who has now suffered extreme damage to her past rear length hair from a summer of sun and swimming. I did the method he outlined on myself first including an excellent moisturizing mask at the end after shampooing out and my hair has never looked better. Then I did the same thing to my daughters hair and I can already see a huge improvement in how it looks and feels. Because her damage was so extreme (and will need inches cut off) I plan on using it 2x a week on her hair with a moisturizing mask between and after the Olaplex treatments.

All hairdressers repeated just one thing , oh your hair regrowth, look its baby hair here...it was not true, my hair was extremely dry and needs badly oil .
