昔のヘビー級全盛時代のK1は、即効性のあるカーフよりも腿蹴りでKOが多かったですね。ミドル級時代に腿蹴りを連打していた選手は、ヘビー級よりも脚への荷重負担が少ないので相手に耐え切られて、パンチでの負けが割合的に多かった。パンチ力にステータスを多く振ったヘビー級の選手は、チキンレッグほどではないにせよ。上半身に比べて脚が鍛えられてなかった。
