Our daughter is now 13 and no longer into balloons but when she was younger on our check out day we made it a tradition to find another child to share the balloon love with. We are going in November and my daughter asked if we are going to get a balloon to give to a child. It began a fun family tradition. Im sure other families do the same but wanted to share.
this has happened to us a couple of times!! we still remember the families and talk about it occasionally ❤ so thoughtful and the kids on the receiving end are always so happy and thankful!
The refillable mugs were honestly worth it for us- my husband and I always filled up leaving our resort, filled them up with free ice water during the day at the parks, refilled them at any resorts we happened to stop at and refilled heading back to our room for the night. It was a total life saver for us- and now I have more mugs for my collection 😂
@@dfbbreea awesome! My uncle still has a bunch that are from when they first started making them and they're HUGE!! If they can bring those back that'd be great.
I’m not sure why but it is almost impossible to find ANY nostalgic Disney merchandise. If you are looking for Bambi or other much loved characters, you are out of luck. One would think there would be a corner somewhere for the characters that put them on the map. They are losing out, I think anyway, because my card stayed in the backpack rather than spend it on another obscure droid loungefly.
I noticed that too on my March trip. I looked EVERYWHERE for Tangled and Hercules merch, barely found anything besides hand sanitizer holders and some dolls. I also couldn't find anything with Kylo Ren on it, even in the Star Wars shop! It seems Disney mostly sells merch for their most popular or trending franchises, because most of what I saw was Frozen and Wish. So unfortunate!
I'm a huge Winnie the Pooh (Tigger specifically) fan, and my family is going to Disney for the first time later this year. I obviously looked up any gift shops that might have Pooh merchandise to be sure to stop by. Multiple visitor videos/vlogs of the Hundred Acre Goods store (their store!) had very little Pooh stuff, like nothing of Piglet or Tigger, and had PLUTO and DONALD DUCK in it?!
On our first trip my daughter was 4, I found some Disney dolls on Marketplace and at garage sales and picked them up/packed them in secret! Then I’d have my husband take her out of the room for our park day while I went last and snuck the dolls out onto the bed! When we got back I told her Fairy Godmother (who coincidentally we met that day!) must have sent them over! One doll was Fairy Godmother and one was Prince Charming so it was super cute!!
I'm 61. My mom,big brother and I traveled to Disneyland by car from the Midwest and a bit later Colorado when I was growing up. Every time we went, my mom would stop at that last store on main street and get me a plush animal character from Winnie the Pooh. They were my favorite books as a very little girl and my favorite Disney films! Driving home with my beloved Pooh characters cuddled in my arms in the back end of the wagon are some of my treasured memories!!
At the very least, if you have to buy a bottle of water then keep the bottle and refill it at the stations. Then it's just a very inexpensive reusable bottle that you can throw out when it gets nasty.
We started buying beach towels at the Disney Parks. It makes a great item to remember your vacation. We did the first haircut with our son in 2002. It was a magical moment.
My daughter was freezing one night in DL, so we looked at expensive blankets. Finally picked out a huge towel. Worked for her, and it’s my fave bath towel currently. Great quality actually!
I'm going back to Disneyworld tomorrow..the first time in 30 years. But, now I'm disabled and will be using a scooter instead of walking. I wish you would research stuff that we can do and still enjoy the parks as before. I know I'm limited to the type of rides I can go on but, since I'm a fuddy duddy anyway, I'm going to enjoy the ones I remember. Also..a list of eating establishments that are conducive to disabled people would be nice. Oh, just to mention this..I'll be 70 yrs old soon and traveling alone..my hubby passed in February this year and we were supposed to go in April but never made it. You are so good at this please research this for all of us who are still kids at heart.
My favorite splurge, especially as an often-solo traveler, is Memory Maker. It's so wonderful to have some photos that aren't selfies! And the PhotoPass Photographers are always so wonderful. Particularly if you find the ones in off-beat places with no lines, they will often get really creative and help you make some really magic memories.
YEah the price point made me gag a lil (it's included in DL's Genie+) but for the chance at pictures of myself and my friends I only see every 4-6 years having an awesome time whether together or apart? Shut up and take my money. Not even gonna ask my friends to contribute because I'm getting it with or without them
the crystal castle isn’t there to sell it’s there to show and get people inside to buy other items. Been going to WDW for years and it has always been there, DL has one too.
I’m celebrating my 60th Bday with a Disney Trip Feb 2025, going solo! First time in my life, among 100s of Disney day trips, weekend trips, week long property vacations, this time just me! And from my first visit as a kid in 1972 I’ve collected an obscene amount of Disney Pins. Don’t know why, but they fascinate me to this day reflecting my many visits from childhood, to teen yrs, school trips, marriage, going with my own kids… it’s a Nostalgic thing indeed. And yes, I’ve budgeted an unhealthy amount of $ for my Feb trip to buy 2 or 3 (or 10) more 👍
I'm in the middle of booking for a May 2025 trip obstesively for my mother's 55th but really it's for the Tron Lightcycle Ride. The amount I am putting side JUST for the Tron gift shop is enough to make one cry. We know what we like and Disney is the last place to be shamed for it.
I use my Disney popcorn bucket at home all the time…to eat popcorn lol 😂 whenever I make popcorn, I like using that bucket and reliving the Disney experience haha
I bring my own water in a travel bottle and refill at the refresher stations for years. I also make sandwiches and bring snacks in my backpack so I rarely buy drinks or food. So we eat our sandwiches during lunch. Though I do splurge for dinner without drinks.
Epcot late night tickets were the best purchase !! It was in Feb. and was cold but worth every cent we paid !! My daughter & I walked on and off ALL the rides !!! All of them - the longest wait was the walk thru the empty queue “ trails “ Next visit will be Hollywood Studios I think !!
When at Disney I live off of 2 main questions: 1. Are you going to be happy? 2. Are you going to actually use it? - I usually ignore #2 and get it anyway because when in the Disney bubble Mickey is paying and hakuna matata I have no worries(I purchase gift cards the whole year before and put them on my room at the front desk when I arrive so when I tap my magicband in the parks it just charges the gift cards)
Hear me out : using cleaned up popcorn buckets as novelty purse. Also, a stainless refillable bottle is the way to go. Fill it with ice at the resort, then top it off with free water. The ice will keep for the whole day (even in summer)
Free as the water from the station may be, it taste so much like chlorine, it's like drinking pool water. It may be an Orlando water supply b/c same experience w/ the water in Universal parks.
Tbh, there are also places - like where I live - where the water tastes literally metallic. Like you could be licking it off a car. I don't know if I'd actually use a refill station unless it clearly states it's filtered. My workplace has a refill station and it's filtered, so no metallic taste - and it was actually SUPER cold, so add another check mark to my "didn't see that coming" list. Just because it's free doesn't mean it's gonna be good in taste or temperature (like do you want to refill with WARM water? Ew); Though maybe that's why it's free...
On a trip pre-Covid, I inquired about the crystal castle. Maybe it was a different one, but the one I saw was *only* $37,000 (still pricey I know). Anyway I asked how many they sell and I was told they’ll usually sell one a month! Just thought that was interesting.
I think for me, what I'd always save for, are probably the pins. I got quite a few on my Disney cruise to Alaska 5 years ago, I didn't trade, though, as I never knew how it worked. Now they hang on my wall on the lanyard I got on the Wonder! Snack wise, a cinnamon roll at Gaston's Tavern.
Could you do some videos on typhoon lagoon with the new water park perk for resort stays in 2025? We are going in 2025 and I would love to learn more about the water parks!
Water Bottle refill stations were all down in MK--except for in the Pinocchio restaurant. The water was warm. Don't expect Disney to care about providing free water.
What Breea said about pin trading is essentially how I felt when they started this 25 years ago. The parks and the stores always sold pins, and now we were encourage to trade them? On the plus side, the pins were much better than the hidden Mickey ones of today. No scrapper issues there. But I remember being gifted a millennium pin to trade, and felt that it was cooler than whatever a cast member may have. Plus, your time is limited. How much time am I wasting looking at pins instead of something else? By the time I finally got into the trading aspect, the cast member boards were exactly what was mentioned. Though I did get several positive interactions with other guests wanting to trade. Their pins could have been fake too, but at least they were nicer.
6:40 Yeah, my parents used to sell chinese Disney trading pins on Ebay back in like 2010 or so. They made like $100k+ per year for 2-3 years before they got paranoid about customs seizing packages and what not. That and it was a full time job. It's wild the money in trading pins haha.
I went to Disneyland and California Adventure with my best friend this summer. It was my first time going back ever since I was 10 years old. And since there was so much that had changed within those 20+ years, I knew there were some things that I wanted to spend on ahead of time. One of those was the Mickey's Kitchen Sink sundae and the other was a light up Baymax balloon. As ridiculous as it was to spend money on them, it was worth it to me. I deflated my Baymax balloon and brought it home with me, and the Mickey's Kitchen Sink is now a trinket tray for my brother.
Pin trading. Look for cast members. I find they have good pins to trade especially ones with mystery pins. Here are the order I have found for best pins. Hollywood studios, AK, MK, then epcot. Don’t forget the resorts too.
Yes and they never say no to a little girl. My daughter traded for pins you cant even find any longer. I felt like telling her thats not fair..then thought about the water price..lol
Water might be free at the park with your own bottle, but I highly recommend Gatorade as well ESPECIALLY in hot weather. Keeping. up electrolytes with 5-15miles of walking each day is crucial.
I am amazed of everything you know about Disney, and your insight on getting the most value for your money. I don’t understand why you don’t have more subscribers than you actually do. Keep up the good work!
I use my popcorn buckets to store other souvenirs from our trip, like our park ticket cards and maps from the year we went. Then i have a shelf along a wall, displaying them.
I don't collect mickey ears or pins, but I can't pass up a cool magnet or detailed keychain. I don't pay to check bags on the airplane, so those items fit nicely in my carry-on. How to take things home and where to put it are big factors in what extras to buy. Refillable mugs are something that we for sure get our money's worth on.
We have bought the regular hotel refillable mugs on all our Disney world trips. I save them and use them at home too. My daughter used to collect the large animator dolls when she was little. We used to buy a new one every trip.
We tried multiple times to have the balloons refilled at home and it didn't go well and is more expensive than the balloon originally cost. After a few attempts we just leave it in hotel lobby with a note and it is gone within minutes. Edit: We have taken one on a cruise with us, no problem.
I have a lot of popcorn buckets from various movies from my local theater (and yes, a few Disney ones too from my visit) and I always have little bits and bobs stored inside. Every time I need storage for small things and have a little space avaliable, I'll allow myself to buy a new one. I also try to be really intentional in which one I'm buying and I take full advantage of the refils to make it worth a little more
I brought a reusable water bottle and went to the hydration stations. The most expensive thing i bought was a droid from the Droid Depot in Galaxy's Edge.
I don't know why but the thought of having your child's first haircut at WDW brought tears to my eyes. What a great experience for the parents, and a great Show and Tell for the child when they get to school.
pro tip on the water- buy a camelback before you go. if you dont know its basically a super slim back pack with a reservoir inside attached to a drinking straw that comes out of the bag and runs down the strap. . some of them can hold up to 3 litters of water and the bags are super comfy. also it can cool your back as well
If I ever win a big lottery payout, that crystal castle (the $250,000 one) is the first frivolous purchase I'm making (after paying off loans and other important things, of course).
I concur!!! Drink water, water, water! Heat advisories were common. Stay hydrated. Bring your own refillable bottle, most restaurants and quick service will give you as much water as you want if you ask.
I believe that's one of my first times watching this channel, and I would like to say a huge thanks ! In fact, I am gluten intolerant, and your food guide made me discover how I could get safe gluten free food at WDW. So, I tried the cheese pizza at Pinocchio's. Cast members were as cool and safe as the pizza was good. Since my home park is Paris, I'll try this when I'll go back.
I got the Stitch pet bed at DLP, and one of my cats slept in it every night for weeks. He loved it so much! We're now waiting for him to circle back around to it, as he switches spots every few weeks xD He's black, so we couldn't see him in it, so we had to nudge it or try to lift it to see if he was in there haha!
I have always gotten a balloon, except on my last trip. We stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge & you can’t have balloons there for the reason stated in this video. There are actual African animals on the savannas that could choke on the balloons. Since we fly & I’m almost 40, when we check out at the front desk, I always leave my balloon with them for the next kid who checks in. We get the Disney dining plan too. We eat a nice sit down meal with an included alcoholic drink, appetizer, entree & dessert & two quick services every day. We also use all our snack credits.
I haven't gotten one of these balloons since I was 5 but you talking about the card you get from balloon daycare makes me want to get it just for that reason
I got up at 3:50 this morning hoping to buy some lightning lanes for my upcoming Orlando trip. I’m only doing one day at Disney and was hoping to experience some things I haven’t ever been able to do. But alas, I couldn’t afford a Disney resort stay so by the time I was eligible to guy some lightning lanes, not much was left that works with my schedule. Really disappointing! I was only able to nab a Cosmic Rewind LL, but couldn’t get anything for Galaxy’s Edge which I’ve never gotten to see before. So, looks like I’ll be waiting in long lines which means I won’t get to see a whole lot. Meanwhile, I have Express Pass for my two days at Universal and I didn’t have to get up before the sun to plan for those days…..
I have absolutely no interest in a Disney popcorn bucket, however if I were tasked with creating one, I’d design it so it was collapsible and had a pocket, of sorts, for napkins. Eating with your hands is often a messy business. Those napkins/hand wipes conveniently available before the next ride sounds like a good idea…
We got the iconic Mickey balloon one trip for our son... kids loved it.. but even more so: I'm quite petite and so if we get separated and can be hard for hubby to find me in a sea of ppl and strollers.. but the balloon on the stroller meant he knew exactly where the kids and I were at all times lol so now we're balloon ppl lol will have to remember abt the orlando airport deflation option next time
The best part about this video was finding out someone who works there has a dog named kairi that I can only assume and hope was born out of a deep love for kingdom hearts doesn’t feel like too much of a stretch given its tangential relation to Disney
It’s good to try unique things in the park.inventory is small even if the profit margins and value proposition is low. I agree on water…. Better to get the freebies
Oh my gosh the Disney balloons are my biggest bone to pick, but hearing about the balloon daycare absolutely not only made my whole day but also made me want to go to Disney World for the sole purpose of getting a balloon and sending it to balloon daycare XD
Family names don't match up to family coats of arms. If someone with the same surname as me who isn't a direct ancestor is granted a coat of arms, it would have nothing to do with me.
i got a tenny tinny little white mask with music notes on it with my Aunt´s gift card she gave me when i went and I love it! I collect masks so no it wasn´t random.
I live in Florida and I believe you. I wouldn't say there is sulfur in the water but 100% the water is hard like everywhere with calcium deposits and other crud that makes the water really dodgy sometimes. I'd recommend just getting a few gallons of water and maybe some food for breakfast or late night dinner to bring to your hotel from a nearby super market if you want to save money on food and drink during your next trips.
What we always do when we buy a balloon is on the last day of our stay we give our balloon to another family so it can give another family the fun and make that family and happy.
We find that the refillable mugs were well worth it with our kids and now we still get one for my husband when it's just the two of us because he drinks a lot of soda and tea.
I went to Disneyland with my school as a kid I bought a Chesire cat pin, put it on my backpack and less than 5 mins later it had fallen off. I was so sad it was all the money I had to buy something
I will say I was so glad to get a balloon popcorn bucket with a shoulder strap rather than a handle. It scratched the childhood want of a Mickey Balloon I think I've had since first going when I was 4, and the strap made it far more manageable than a handle (also I didn't lose the damn thing by setting it down somewhere while juggling other stuff). Still proudly have it displayed on top of my pantry and might need to get it a friend from Disney World on my trip next year. SOmething to keep in mind for any adults wanting to indulge their inner child a touch more cost effectively.
On my visits, I usually start by making a trip to Winnie Dixie to buy the things that I will need for my room for breakfast and lunch as well as dinner and health care products. It is so much cheaper than buying it from the resort store. I tried doing the Amazon delivery to the front desk and it was not great for me. The only thing I seem to buy on my visits is plushes/ stuffed animals. I have tried to hold off until I get back home and find the item on Shop DIsney and sometimes the product is not available there ( Example Chip and Dale 100th Anniversary plush. Saw them in the Magic Kingdom. Told myself that I could get it on line and I could not) . Great vlog as always.
Two things that I always ask myself when buying something that isn’t groceries: 1. Does it make me happy? 2. Where am I going to put it?
Two very important questions, indeed.
Same here
Don't forget for those of us travelling from out of state and using the airport:
*Will it get us into trouble during security checks?*
And also
*Will it fit with our remaining luggage?*
Doesn't help that some airlines charge extra for more luggage.
Love this.
I also often ask (since I live in an apartment), is that "am I willing to pack/move this?"

World showcase shopping is literally my favorite thing. Even if I don’t actually buy anything!
I treat it like a museum more often than not! I just like to LOOK at everything!
Balloon Daycare... that is just too funny and sweet. Just balloons hanging out.
I've only been to Disney once, in the 90s but we had fun! I will say that hearing about the balloon daycare is one of the cutest things ever!
$250k is enough for a house?? *Cries in Canadian*
For real
It's not in most places in the US.
It's a down payment which gets you a house.
Yes, in some places. No, in a lot of others. 15 years ago, you could get a nice 3 bedroom in Orlando for 150-200K. My first house was 54K 😮
Not a good house
I keep buying the new popcorn buckets and just line them up in my home. lol When I look at them they make me happy. 😊
I’ve started slowly but surely collecting World Showcase magnets!
Disney Balloons tip- buy at the END of Day 1. Bring a balloon weight with you then keep it in the hotel room so you get daily joy from your balloon.
15:49 Mexico is amazing to shop! The China pavilion was beautiful. I really wanted a sword 😂
I could seriously just stay in the Mexico Pavilion ALL DAY.
We have bought the regular hotel refillable mugs on all our Disney world trips. I save them and use them at home too. My daughter used to collect the large animator dolls when she was little. We used to buy a new one every trip.
disney legit seems like a horrible place now
We tried multiple times to have the balloons refilled at home and it didn't go well and is more expensive than the balloon originally cost. After a few attempts we just leave it in hotel lobby with a note and it is gone within minutes.
Edit: We have taken one on a cruise with us, no problem.
So far just wanting to keep the collection to Minnie Ears and spirit jerseys. So things I can wear either outside the parks or multiple times
I don’t even have grand children yet, but I’ve already planned to have their first hair cut there. (And yes, I’ve asked the future parents lol.)
pro tip on the water- buy a camelback before you go. if you dont know its basically a super slim back pack with a reservoir inside attached to a drinking straw that comes out of the bag and runs down the strap. . some of them can hold up to 3 litters of water and the bags are super comfy. also it can cool your back as well
Re pin trading, eBay seems to have stopped selling counterfeits, so they don't show up on pin boards much now.
Love the kelce and swift crest with 1989 heh
The balloon daycare thing sounds adorable!
Okay ya'll should be happy about the dasani waterbottle prices. that SAME SIZE will go for 6 bucks at my movie theater job
The Best unnecessary souvenir we got from WDW was a Hakuna Matata snowglobe! Got it in 1998 and it's still kicking😊
We got the iconic Mickey balloon one trip for our son... kids loved it.. but even more so: I'm quite petite and so if we get separated and can be hard for hubby to find me in a sea of ppl and strollers.. but the balloon on the stroller meant he knew exactly where the kids and I were at all times lol so now we're balloon ppl lol will have to remember abt the orlando airport deflation option next time
More Breea please! Nice to have a variety of voice and personality on DFB!
Aww, thanks! Happy to be here (and rant about pin prices) with you!
I actually bought the swarovski cinderalla castle from disney springs a present for my wife shes a big disney fan
And that expensive water dasani tastes awfull
Reformulated, worth another try now, I liked it before though, they took out the sodium
Germany Pavilion has beautiful Christmas ornaments. Mitsokoshi department store has wonderful socks with separate pocket for big toe.
When we visited in December of 2022, they were making another glass castle to send to Disney of France’s glass shop. I wonder if that one’s sold yet?
They’re small pins, just slide them in your pocket.
Awesome! I'll be there in October. Does anyone know if it's still possible to light a Rapunzel lantern during the party?
Oh my gosh the Disney balloons are my biggest bone to pick, but hearing about the balloon daycare absolutely not only made my whole day but also made me want to go to Disney World for the sole purpose of getting a balloon and sending it to balloon daycare XD
I got a zero dog house popcorn bucket in 2015 and it's my favourite piece of Halloween decor every year haha
2:26 Is the water in the reffilable stations drinkable? Because the one in the water fountains in MK taste HORRIBLE!
Pandora Charms. I have 5 filled Disney bracelets but can always add another one.
Thank you for the water bottle refill station tip!!! I have my britta filter water bottle ready to go!
This was a nice video with alot of cool little tips. I just found out about the balloon daycare which is awesome!
Family names don't match up to family coats of arms. If someone with the same surname as me who isn't a direct ancestor is granted a coat of arms, it would have nothing to do with me.
Balloon daycare is the cutest thing ive heard all week
10:01 Hey! The Florida Panthers earned their super-fancy, super-trendy, refillable 40-ounce tumbler!
i got a tenny tinny little white mask with music notes on it with my Aunt´s gift card she gave me when i went and I love it! I collect masks so no it wasn´t random.
I love the refillable mugs. I get a lot of use out of them so I find that a worthy investment.
Disney water or Florida water taste like sulfur so you need to buy water.
Balloons are a waste of money 😂
I wouldn’t accept Disani water even if it was free - the stuff always tasted weird to me….
oh geez the lights went out. surely nothing or nobody is hunting me down.
the nefarious Freddy Fazbear: 2:49
What we always do when we buy a balloon is on the last day of our stay we give our balloon to another family so it can give another family the fun and make that family and happy.
Our group last May was referring to the free water as "dog water" lol
We find that the refillable mugs were well worth it with our kids and now we still get one for my husband when it's just the two of us because he drinks a lot of soda and tea.
I just want to know how they ship the $280,000 castle
@@jmchinch if I’m spending that kind of money, I’m driving to pick it up. With lots of blankets and pads around it.
I always buy a popcorn bucket and then either my last day in the parks or the day I leave I find a family and give them the bucket.
