But - Meryl Streep in “Sophie’s Choice” just no way to beat that performance. But Julie’s work in V/V is stunning. Could/should have been her 2nd Oscar. And so it always goes.
I'm glad that since Julie didn't win it, it went to Meryl. Julie is my favourite actress, but I think Meryl is next level. She is a master of accents. I'm aussie and have never heard an American come even close to doing a decent aussie accent, but Meryl nailed it (different film I know, just making a point)
Meryl's Polish accent speaking English and Polish for Sophie's Choice was impressive! The movie was totally dependent on her ability to play that tortured character not just in a convincing way but with subtle gravity that kept you from turning away from the harsh reality of the story. I think of it as the most deserved Oscar for a female lead of any movie I have seen. I suppose it doesn't reach everybody that way, so thanks for acknowledging Meryl. Victor Victoria was a triumph for Julie too. It was a joy to have her back on the big screen in such a loveable movie!
These folks think this cross dressing thing is new.. I don't get it. Robin did it, Julie did it. People suffering from can't remember nuthing..and Moonstruck..
Julie's hairstyle for the event stands out with classic beauty!
Thank you for sharing this!
Julie looks stunning!
Best supporting actress : Lesley Ann Warren !!!
#JulieAndrews is immaculate unmatched
Julie should have won the oscar. Any other year it would have been her.

Julie Andrews should have won the Oscer for Victor Victoria,
She was superb 💯 🏆
yay Julie Andrews
That was a particularly accomplished group vying for the Oscar that year. Julie was certainly in good company.😊
amazing may these first night last forever 🎉...history ❤️ 💕 ✨️ Thank you for sharing the wonderful memories
Achei uma injustiça Julie Andrews não ter ganhado o Oscar em 1983. Ela merecia mais.

Julie should have won . That's all I'm going to say.
Julie Anders has very complex role, but comedy never wins in Oscars. Maryl movie was great, but the role was not too demanding.
