- After 2 weeks of volunteer program in Zimbabwe and South Africa, I decided to reward myself with a week of R&R in Tanzania!
I spent 4 days in Ngorongoro, Tarangire and Ndutu then 4 nights in Zanzibar.
I gotta say, the airlines in Africa really runs on its own system. I booked a flight on “Precision Air” from Arusha to Zanzibar. The night before departure, they what’sapp me and said the flight time is changed to 4 hours earlier, if you can’t make it, you have to take the flight on the next day. I was furious and refused as that would put my Ngorongoro Tour from 5 hours to 1 hour as it takes 3 hours to go from Ngorongoro back to Arusha. They said okay, how about 2 hours early, I accepted that. (I find it unbelievable that they can just change the times of a flight like that) On the day of the flight, they what’sapp 5 hours before the flight times and said that the flight is leaving earlier than planned. I said What??? No way, you had said 3:30 before now you said it’s leaving at 2PM. They said if you can make it at 1:50PM, you can still get on. So I told my guide Mosses, and we had to leave Ngorongoro abruptly to try to make it there before 2 as there’ are no other flights that day. Mosses drove as fast as he could and we made it on time! And guess what, the people at the counter said you are late, the plane had left. It was 1:50, I wasn’t a minute early or a minute late. I was furious, and for 3 minute, said all the non cursing English I could but in a very angry way, the next thing is, they put me on the flight with a handwritten ticket, I literally ran to the plane. I was sweating so much that I had 3 bottles of water once I finally got on the plane. In summary, Arusha airport is extremely not organised and an airport I will never forget and will try to stay away from unless I have no choice. But of course I know I won’t have a choice as many domestic flies there only.

不得不說，非洲的航空公司確實有自己的系統。我預訂了「Precision Air」從阿魯沙飛往桑給巴爾的航班。出發前一天晚上，他們whatsapp我說班機時間提早4個小時，趕不上就得搭第二天的班機。我很生氣並拒絕了，因為這將使我的恩戈羅恩戈羅之旅從 5 小時減少到 1 小時，因為從恩戈羅恩戈羅回到阿魯沙需要 3 小時。他們說好吧，提早兩個小時怎麼樣，我接受了。 （我覺得難以置信，他們就這樣改變航班時間）在航班當天，他們在航班起飛前5小時發whatsapp，說航班比原計劃提前起飛。我說什麼？？？沒辦法，之前你說的是3點30分，現在你說下午2點出發。他們說如果你能在下午 1:50 趕到，你仍然可以上飛機。所以我告訴我的導遊Mosses，我們不得不突然離開恩戈羅恩戈羅，試圖在2 點之前到達那裡，因為當天沒有其他航班。Mosses開得盡可能快，我們準時到達了！你猜怎麼著，櫃檯人員說你遲到了，飛機已經起飛了。當時是 1 點 50 分，我沒有早到一分鐘，也沒有遲到一分鐘。我很憤怒，花了三分鐘的時間，我以一種非常憤怒的方式說了所有非咒罵的英語，接下來的事情是，他們拿著一張手寫的機票讓我上了飛機，我真的跑向了飛機。我滿頭大汗，終於上了飛機，喝了三瓶水。總而言之，阿魯沙機場非常混亂，是一個我永遠不會忘記的機場，除非別無選擇，否則我會盡量遠離它。 但我當然知道我別無選擇，因為那裡很多國內航班。
