I can't believe his "views" are only in the thousands. I was blessed to see many of his shows...a dear friend, a kind spirit trying to break free. He sang "Always" at my kitchen table once and I'll treasure that moment forever. The angels lined up for singing lessons the day he passed.
We were also friends......he used to come to Toronto an visit with me and my wife quite a few times. I lived in a little town 25 north of the city and he said that he liked to walk around in the snow and the quietness of it all. I met him when he was so young as a troubadour and famous....I don’t think he ever was comfortable with the early fame....I miss him a lot
Kenny was a king among men, a gentle spirit, a talent beyond comparison and a true gentleman. He is forever ingrained in my memory and a significant part of my early adult years. He was inspirational, he was kind, he was a true musician.
I love this MAN'voice have about fives of his album's my identical twins sister introduced me to his music they are both now in PARADISE singing!!! I miss them both!
It is still hard to wrap my head around the fact that he is gone. Had the great privilege of seeing him twice at Jazz Alley in Seattle. Sure miss him, but will always have TH-cam.
Because he is an extremely underrated singer. I never knew he was such an amazing vocalist until I happened onto a track on Last FM. I thought he only sung cheesy pop songs - well that's what I heard on the radio. Wish I had known. His covers are almost always better than the original tracks.
I previously sang bass in a coir that toured around the country. Something about Kenny Rankin's voice that really appeals to me. The top seat belongs to Lestyn Davies. I'll link a video that will show you why you would love to have this guy below you in the risers. /watch?v=is9vRFUgk_k

Please relay what that experience was like.
How did he come to sing Always in your kitchen.

I love Kenny Rankin. Best vocalist of his time, not to mention his guitar playing skills.
He was truly one of a kind...so much soul and love ..he was even better later in his career RIP
Kenny Rankin is one the best soulful singers in our time, but I'm saddened with his passing.
Kaenny sang from his heart. So pure, so real & so true. Also SO very RARE.
