Is that just DH20? Ive heard some complaints about this device, however, I have found it to be an excellent and reliable tool in the lab. Glad I went ahead and acquired it when I did. Yes it has its nuances and there are far superior hot plates/stirrers, but those are 3 or 4 times the cost... For the price this is hard to beat. IMO, using some common sense and realizing it's limitations would resolve a lot of the complaints I've heard. For example, not trying to stir a 5000ml flask at 1500rpm with a molases in January consistency solution :-) haha.
