Remote Controlled Confetti Cannon

- Confetti cannons are great, but sometimes you want to set them off remotely, so I made one that can be triggered wirelessly with a remote control. See the full project here:

I have been looking for a remote controlled switch for a long time, just a switch and a remote with one or two channels and without any other parts. A remote controlled relay is just what I have needed all along. :D
It would be great if there were links to the products used (mainly the relay board) for online purchase. Great addition to the cannon!
I've used manual versions of this design as a couple of blood cannons and a debris/explosion cannon for horror and action films
mine won't work. What am I doing wrong? I'm not doing remote, just straight wiring. 24 volts. THe solenoid seems to be working, (I took it off for testing). And if I screw it off slowly, it works, the cannon pops quite well.. I can hear the solenoid click when power is applied but it doesn't release the back pressure that holds the air in for release. Did you mod the valve in anyway?
Very cool, I think Id like to try a blow dryer (on no-heat of course) thru a smaller tube. I did one yrs ago using a motor & pie pan w confetti on top....when I turned motor on it spun around and released the confetti.
His face when he clicks the button.
Pls give information about the things u used in it , properly by writing names on screen and specially of that remote control
FYI . I.R. interference can set it off without notice. It's happened to me with photographers remote flashes
It would be easier to add a quick couple fitting and fill it with an air compressor
During the Holidays, load it with green and red confetti, along with a bit of tinsel, shredded wrapping paper, and conifer twigs, play a certain Trans-Siberian Orchestra song on the stereo, and Boom! Christmas Cannon!
You wrapped the Teflon tape the wrong way on the threads of the pressure gauge.
do you wrap it in the same direction as the threads or against?
You wrap it so it doesn't want to unwind when you screw the fitting in.
Ahh I see for some reason that didn't even cross my mind. Good thing that's how I do it naturally mopowers2 P
Whats the max amount of pressure that the canister portion can maintain/handle?
What is the budget for this project? is it under 100?
Is there a way to test the sprinkle valve before attaching it to the cannon.
can you just make it remote controlled and not add the manual valve?
This could be used to shoot blood for movieFX also..
Do you put anything in the cannon before the confetti like a plug or something to help the confetti come out? or is the air pressure enough to just push out the confetti
You say a you need a jumper wire, where can you get that at ? Can anyone help ? Thanks
pues vaya, si solo explica la parte más fácil, y lo complicado lo compras hecho. la gracia hubiese sido hacer el circuito también.
I Want This
How long is the 4" PVC and how long is the 2" PVC
nice job
What type of air valve
Where can you get the remote control and the receiver?
Can you recommend a source online or link for the electronic parts please
ebay, for electronics, ebay is your friend.
select "Free shipping" and "Worldwide".
+sander pf Turn off worldwide or you get all the crap from China. Saying that everything is crap on ebay.
+TheDutyPaid it isnt, i have not had any problems and its dirt cheap, you can buy 6 times as much
I built this to set off with a networked raspberry pi. Here's what I learned. Using the 2-inch PVC, you need to have a large solenoid valve. Look for a 1-inch sprinkler valve. But be careful, most of them are 24-volts, which is a little harder to come by. Make sure you look for one that's 12-volts as per the directions. I chose this one:

Dave, how loud was the model you created? Am I going to blow eardrums out?
Nice :) Thumbs up :D Alex
Do you sell the remote confetti cannon ??
Potato turret
Oof
