    I think it is a boxer 4. It was a B6 but I think you changed it to a B4 because you were seeing very high friction losses.

      That is correct, yes! Fooled by my naming of the engine ´:D

    An American a English man and a Aussie . have enlisted themselves into the French Foreign Legion after a drunken binge in Southern France. After sobering up, neither of the 3 are very happy about it, and the only chance they have to avoid it is by being rejected during the medical exam.
    As they are waiting in line at the doctor’s office, their desperation builds up untill right before it’s the English mans turn.
    The Brit turns to the Aussie an says “Mate, I might have a plan. Bite off my ear, trust me on this one!”
    The Aussie does so, and the Brit enters the office.
    A few moments later, he gets out yelling, “I was rejected, guys!”
    “Because of your ear?” they ask.
    “Yes, because without it, I can’t detect the enemy as well,” says the Brit.
    “Good thinking,” they say.
    And with that in mind the Aussie turns to the American “Cut my toes off!”
    The Yank doesn’t even hesitate and does so.
    Then, the Aussie takes his turn in the office.
    After a while he comes back yelling, “I am rejected too! Without my toes, I can’t be as sneaky and agile as I need to be.”
    Now it was the American's turn to ask, “Quickly, guys, knock out all of my teeth, because a person with no teeth can't respond to orders!"
    The Aussie and the Brit start beating the jaw of the Yank, completely breaking his face untill there is no teeth left in his mouth.
    He then proceeds to go inside the doctor’s office.
    Not long after he gets out, he shouts, “Rejecwew!”
    “Nice,” they say. “Because of your teeth, right?”
    “Nwo,“ says the American “Too fat.”

    Looks like the bug you were talking about (here 12:59) in the engine factory is real sadly (you can see here 26:22). The sliders are set to 0 so i guess it is pre-tooled.
    Also looks like there is another small bug that in the new tooltip showing the trims produced in the factory, there is too little space or it's just not showing the "family" trim in one of the old medium plot factories (here 33:26). As you say here it *looks* like it is produced only in the "newest addition" factory but is not showing anywhere in the tooltips of old ones. It's definetly produced beacuse you're selling it (and i remember it from previous episode).
    Anyway great video! loving the game and the series! Good job, waiting for more and more often! :D

    For example the first GPS was Gasmean. It was somehow calibrated to always find the next McDonald's, but still...

    I think you re-engineered the fuel system anyway, looking earlier in the video it was on eco carbs before.

    If you need to dump profits into something you could make a fiberglass body of the spochty; you might even get a halfway decent power to weight ratio. All for the low low cost of much of your capital being spent on a car a handful of people of people will buy in a year, if you're lucky.

    • @KillrobPlays
      @KillrobPlays  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That is the plan for a little later :) I wanted to keep the "One Model" setup going for as long as possible, but eventually that extra schpochty car needs to happen, yes!

    The campaign part of the game has always been daunting for me, specially the factory management and retooling and stuff, hopefully the gameplay gets more simplified overtime.

    • @darkshine5

      Yes but the massive sense of accomplishment when you complete your first paythru is worth it. I have just under 1500hrs in now and was one of the first Steam purchasers and have followed the project since it was a simple inline 4 creator. With the ellisbury update I had to go back to square one. Where a 100x start was my normal I haven't completed a new playthrough on anything higher than 10x difficulty and I think I have only just now started figuring out multiple company paths outside the normal premium car markets. Killrob vids are a must gives insight into why you chose options and factory settings from the Dev and nearly every video after the unreal 4 engine has snippets of useful info even if most of it is outdated it gives a view into pathways of sucsess. If your not watching Der Bayer or BiomekSensei your missing out. Concentrate on learning how to manipulate factory setting and cost as well as worker shifts to optimise cost vs quality vs output on a few starts from 1955 & use different starting factory sizes to get your head around tooling costs etc for each size factory don't worry about succeeding set negative profit margins at this stage a ten year period works fine for this, and at that early stage emissions are mute. After that 1946 starts and start playing with slowly adding into luxury segments of marketing (size, smoothness, prestige etc) budgets and actual markups to make a profit anything under 40% is going to struggle especially at these early stages where improving your market presence is far more important than mass producing. Stick with convertible luxury and luxury cars with either a 4-5Lt V12 or v16 (heavy cast bottom end 100% harmonic dampener and eco carbs) in a Dalluha start with a medium plot small 1 car factory with the leatherworks add-on and a small plot with small 1 engine factory with the forged add-on added in asap and use light forged crank and rods with cast pistons then hypereutectic pistons as soon as available (this bottom end will get you thru to the end game create a new family every 15-20 years start with Daohc and with each new family upgrade the head type to dohc 2v then 4v use cast iron blocks and aluminium heads) and continue marketing for only Dalluha. Use only fuel available in Dalluha to keep your vehicle's out of Archana and Fruinia until the mid to late 90's the emissions required for these nations adds alot of difficulty that you can avoid as long as possible (emissions need someone to do a in-depth video on explaining exactly how and why to achieve emissions success) until the 1990's then when Gasmea opens up and you have good multipoint EFI and 3 way cat systems using 95 unleaded. The way Dalluha is setup your tech pool is going to increase without you having to put money into tech pool quality points however anything into exhaust, transmission and interior won't hurt if you can afford it. Do not move too fast with factory upgrades and try and match your profit margin to a single shift (keep increasing margin until a single shift will produce just over the monthly requirement and set minimum shifts and max shifts to 1) keep to a single engine family so you only need one engine factory, also max three trims until you can easily afford a medium 1 factory with both steel presses and maintenance ontop of your existing leatherworks convertible luxury, luxury and gt are the easiest option then move into family sport premium once your factory can produce monocoque corrosion resistant/partial aluminium vehicles This can get you to 2020. Good luck keep practicing and don't waste time styling vehicles in campaign

      @KillrobPlays  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      Absolutely you should :) Sandbox is fun and all, but the extra context of having to produce those cars you're designing is adding a whole dimension to the game that makes things that were obvious choices really nuanced all of a sudden. Cheers!

  • @MyHandleIsGood
    @MyHandleIsGood 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    To add to your comments on the familiarity, I think that there should be a different familiarity based on the quality you choose. If you make lots of really low quality parts, you'll still become more familiar with those parts, but you wouldn't really know how to make them to a high quality anywhere near as well.

    • @KillrobPlays
      @KillrobPlays  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I believe that would make it too complex for too little gain :) also you could argue that a high quality part in 1960 is a low quality part in 1975! Cheers!
