i mean,there is an in-universe explanation for why the games exist- fazbear entertainment hired a game developer(the scott cawthon picture in the intro of fnafVR) to make games based around the tragedies and urban legends associated with the fazbear name (aka:the missing children's incident,and their killer animatronics) as a way of poking fun at a sore spot in their history, (like how family guy,south park,the Simpsons and even american dad does with real history), but as fazbear entertainment slowly creaked open their Pandora's box of tragedies, the game developer slowly started to go insane the more he learned about fazbear entertainments bloody past. That's why the games are so inconstant as well,they were made by a literal insane person, that why in the fnafVR intro you hear from the handy unity voice saying that the games (fnaf1-6) were made from the mind of deranged rouge employee-fazbear entertainment realized that they weren't being painted in the light they wanted and fired the employee who later went on to kill themselves out of madness-so in reality the games we got were watered down dribble of a mental patient compared to the snarling beast that is the truth fazbear entertainments hides deep within its walls-that's also why the fnafVR game is so...bad? no. more like...deluded,fazbear entertainment made that game themselves to hide behind, a way of taking the L and saying:"yeah lol its all true we're SOOO spooky buy our merch, we promise it isn't possesed ;p lol"-the first 3 game were just as fazbear entertainment intended but as the developer made more and more insane dribble they had to cover their a$ses and disown the games THEY WANTED MADE-so now we have this 80's drug induced nightmare that is security breach,which is fazbear entertainment basically trying to say:"look. see? its not real,the robots are not haunted,its all a game,give us money"
sadly you don't get to decide if they remember or not that's their choice not yours because you may be their creator but they are very real and very much free to do as they please so don't think the 4th wall will protect you in the afterlife because forcefully erasing people's memories is a one shot ticket to hell
