I really like you and long ago Subscribed and I enjoyed your reaction though wonder if you picked up on the theme from the original heart beat f Birth thru' having time to kill when young to ten years flashing by and then to the fact that you are older and shorter of breath and "one day closer to death" and ending with him being an old Man who wanted to "warm his bones by the fire?" lol I saw them debuted in West London in 1973 and the last 48 years have flown by so enjoy every minute but NEVER interrupt a guitar solo as it breaks its flow and rhythm :)

these two songs flow into the next song, "great gig in the sky", which has some of the most heart-wrenching vocals you ever will hear, considering no lyrics are sung
Hi Blessing, "TIME" is funny & interesting...Because all around the world we all get 24 hours in a day; but the biggest issue many people tend to complain about is that there seems to never be enough time to get things done!!! However, "TIME" in & of itself is not the issue, but rather how we choose to manage & use the "TIME" we have been given and "blessed" with!!! Once again, thank you for this wonderful reaction!!! Sincerely, CR SoundDoctor
Well done, nice reaction. In fact, I would have four pieces of information for you: 1: At 2:42 - The 2 minute long intro of this song is nothing compared to that of their track (Wish You Were Here) which included an 8 minute and 42 second intro before the first lyrics. 2: At 7:22 - The female voices you hear are those of the choristers, they are not part of the band members. 3: At 8:20 - When you say they're slowing down the pace of the song, actually at that point it's the transition between song (time) and song (Breathe Reprise), "Home, Home Again "... 4: At 9:10 - The lyrics of (Breathe Reprise) are also and especially related to the first part of (Breathe), which is about the hard work and performance required to survive in a world where everyone is desperately short of time. ; "Run, rabbit run. - Dig that hole, forget the sun, And when at last the work is done - Don't sit down it's time to dig another one ". As you so aptly mention, it's poetry. Well done, Bravo.
You should listen to the whole DSOTM album in one go. it's really one piece of music with fabulous transitions as all songs melt into each other. Best to think of it as one long track. For example, the low rumble sound at the start here is actually the fading end of 'On the Run'. And did you notice at 8.00 the transition into Breathe Reprise?. The sudden alarm bells usually catch people out!. In the Pulse 1994 concert, they perform the whole album as one piece.
Here is a little a story time for you. I decided to put my reaction to “Time” out of public circulation for two months now. I apologize to all those robbed off the chance to view the video without an explanation. At the time, the video was at 17,000 views, so naturally it attracted many amazing people for whom I am happy to have met but I was surprised by the amount of overwhelming negative comments also in the mix. I appreciate all the positive feedback I received including those who although did not like this video, were respectful in the comments. I also appreciate the Gilmour Guitar solo comments (those are said in good fun, so don’t bug those comments. I find it hilariously quirky and was a right of passage for new comers like me). Please bare in mind as humans we are not built to absorb too much unwarranted scrutiny to every word we say and every pause we take during a video. That takes away the freedom and joy these videos spread to the community. These videos are not meant as a substitute to the original video and you have access to the original works uninterrupted. Please consider, as first time listener there is a level of excitement that overtakes us. I cannot promise to be perfect in speech and score an A+ in your books. What I am thinking in my head may not always be perfectly expressed in real time. I fully understand we will always get mixed feedback to these videos, that’s totally expected but I believe disagreements can be done respectively and viewer expectations can be adjusted given this is a reaction video. I have taken a courageous step to get back to reacting to Pink Floyd I just uploaded “The Great Gig in the Sky” per your suggestions from this video. Thank you. I have also decided to give this video a second chance by making it public again. Don’t bother looking for the old extreme comments that caused this video to be pulled away from the public, most of those have been purged due to their mental drain. Thanks once again for all your comments on this video. I may have never met you, but I appreciate you all for tuning in.
Hey thre. Life long PF here. Music is not anyone's to gatekeep, and your experience is your own. Most pink floyd fans understand that and probably got a big kick out of your reactions. Please do more, forget the haters and don't let this tarnish what otherwise is an incredible band, possibly the greatest ever 🙌 ❤️
One of my most favorite Pink Floyd songs is "Comfortably Numb" and as you said that you want to see them playing the songs I highly recommend you to check its version: "Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb - pulse concert performance 1994". You would love it! Trust me!
Pink Floyd does not normally go after reaction videos as other artists do. I've watched dozens and dozens go without pause or interruption with no problem. So you should be safe in that regard. Pink Floyd are musicians of the highest order. The guitarist and vocalist David Gilmour is considered one of the finest of all time. Their fan base can be a little sensitive regarding interrupting his solos. Keep that in mind and you should be fine. Otherwise great reaction!! Pink Floyd are also known for their deep meaningful lyrics. Should you be drawn to it, the lyrics of this song will grow in meaning for you the older you get. Take it from someone who was already in high school when this album came out in '73. Enjoy the ride. "...The sun is the same in a relative way but you're older, Shorter of breath and one day closer to death"
I can remember listening to this in my bedroom when it first came out and , to be honest it scared me, made me think of life slipping away too fast and not really living, the things and people who were around me would one day all be gone, well they`re now all gone and i`m still trying to not let life slip past me while living in the past but looking at the future, it`s not easy but it`s an amazing journey.
How do you think I feel ? lol I went to the Debut of this Album t Earls Court in West London with 18,000 others in 1973 and now 48 years have flown by and I am 67 years old in London :)
Pink Floyd are an iconic British band, along with Yes, Genesis, The Beatles, Iron Maiden and Marillion. My all-time favourite band is Rush; they have an interesting back story.
Hi MrsPen Pal I've been away from my puter for almost 5 weeks. Was in the hospital and almost every night one song by Pink Floyd got stuck in my head. "The Great Gig in The Sky" It's about the stages of dying. Shock or disbelief, denial, anger, bargaining, guilt, depression and finally acceptance. And being that you really liked the female voice in "Time" I know you will LoVe Clare Torry's amazing voice and she doesn't even sing one word. Do the album version as Clare just kills it. Pardon the pun. hehe And I'm feeling much better, I'm still at the bargaining stage with God, ;)
Hi Matthew so sorry to hear you are in the hospital, I pray for divine healing for you. In Jesus name. Amen. Keep me posted 🙏. I appreciate your post even in your fighting position 💕
Every song Pink Floyd does will paint a picture and if you want to see what they looked like when they were your age do "Echoes" live from Pompeii. Then if you want to see what kind of live shows they put on do anything from their 1994 Pulse concert tour!! Do either "Comfortably Numb", "Sorrow" or "High Hopes" from that 94 concert! Bring a spatula so you can pry your lower jaw off the floor! When people heard Pink Floyd were doing a concert tour they would leave in the middle of their own weddings to go stand in line for tickets!!
This work you see here was copyright content claimed as soon as I uploaded it. Even after disputing it was denied which means they could also block me if I played through out without breaks . If they block me you guys won’t get to see the video and too many blocks could lead to a strike and the loss of this channel. It’s a copyrighted work unfortunately very unpredictable.
In 1973 my older brother brought the vinyl and I heard it as a 13.yo. in 1973. An absolute seminal moment in my life. Everything had to be synced by the band, all the alarms had to be set manually, no computers in 1972 when this was recorded. The musical overlays on Run is the most extreme manual compilation ever without a computer. We had absolutely no idea at the time what we were listening to or how it was recorded.
Pink Floyd is a very unique band with a very healthy and large fan base. I've been a huge Pink Floyd since the release of their "Dark Side Of The Moon" album, (the album this song is on), in 1973, I was 17 years old, lol! I've seen them twice, both time the most incredible Shows I've ever seen! There are two rules PF fans insist on,... 1) Always listen to PF with headphones, there's is sooo much going on in their music, you need headphones to catch everything. Good for you to have yours on. And 2) Never, Never, Ever, pause a David Gilmour guitar solo! LOL! Pink Floyd was formed in 1965 in London, and they continued on until their breakup in 2006. David Gilmour continued on performing Pink Floyd songs, and his own until 2016 , he was 70 years old in 2016. There are, many videos of PF's live performances throughout the years, one of their more epochal live shows was their 1994 Pulse Concert, from their world wide Division Bell tour. You should check out some songs from that Concert, there are re-edited and re-mastered versions of that Pulse Concert. "Comfortably Numb" is one of their most iconic and well known songs, (from their 1980 The Wall Concert Rock Opera), and the performance of the song at the 94 Pulse Concert is completely off the charts! An astounding guitar solo, (possibly the GOAT of guitar solos), along with a superb Light and Lazar show, make this performance of "Comfortably Numb" an absolute must see!
It’s wonderful to see young people finding and enjoying Pink Floyd. They are an amazingly talented group and their messages speak to the heart bypassing the intellectual dross. You should listen to Us and Them on the same album. That is a beautiful and yet tragic testament to our weaknesses when faced with the need of others. Thank you for sharing your reaction with us 😄
If you focus mainly on the backing vocals, you will hear wonderful work and harmony. Pink Floyd has always relied heavily on backing vocals. One of the studio singers is Clare Torry, who sang the following song "The Great Gig In The Sky", which seamlessly follows "Time". Listen - it's amazing and deep! By the way, the whole album The Dark Side of the Moon is amazing and deep. It is the second best-selling music album in history and no wonder! Since this is a so-called concept album, it is ideal to listen to it from start to finish. Try it and you will be thrilled! It's a musical gem!
@@MrsPenPal Thanks for your rocket! Since you're currently on The Dark Side of the Moon, you might try "The Great Gig in the Sky." It's where "Time," winding down, goes into...Cheers!
Remember that this is one of the greatest rock band ever and this was composed in 1971... you really have to listen to the whole album in one stretch and with lyrics; if you don't read the lyrics you're missing half of the pleasure / experience !
If a Male Reactor did that Neil he would be sliced thru' by a saw to be tortured or executed. He would be held upside down, allowing the blood to rush to their head, and then the torturer would slowly start slicing them between their legs. With the blood contained in the head, he would remain conscious throughout most of the slicing, often only passing out or dying when the saw hit their mid-section This may be considered a tad extreme by some but appropriate in this case...
@ 2:41 Yes, I like long intros. This one is relatively short, though. In the world of Prog Rock, some intros can be a little over 4 minutes. As far as I know, Pink Floyd's "Shine On You Crazy Diamond 💎 " is the longest intro. The lyrics start @ 8:42 into the song. Longest intro I know of. I recommend it for a listen too.
This is a nice insight into your interpretation, your feeling for this music, you choose your words well ... the songs run seamlessly on this classic vinyl album that has been with us since 73, probably Floyd's best cut ... nice locks/look, they change 😍
This album (Dark side of the moon) is made to listen to from start to finish. The whole album is a journey. And if you want watch the wizard of Oz (1939 movie) while playing Dark side of the moon. For an interesting experience go for it. Love the whole album. Some other songs from dark side of the moon to check out are money, us and them, and brain damage/Eclipse. But real listen to the whole album! I saw them live they played the whole album in their concert. Another Pink Floyd songs to check out is Another Brick in the wall part 2, learning to fly and comfortably numb. Have you ever react to the Japanese band name Scandal? If not you should check this band out. I can give you some suggestions and links for Scandal songs. Also check out Lovebites, Band-maid and Babymetal too. I can give you links for any of these bands. Have a great day!
"This album (Dark side of the moon) is made to listen to from start to finish. The whole album is a journey." So is "Pyramid" from Alan Parsons Project and so ist "The Wall".

Hands down the greatest album ever recorded. Check out The Great Gig In The Sky, Clare Torry is probably one of my absolute favorite female singers of all time. Her voice as close as you get to divine intervention.
Mrs. Penpal if you would like to see pink floyd like they were back when they were young, you really should watch "Echoes" Live at Pompeii. You'll see them as they were. Love your music by the way.
Oh and just to hit home the must listen to the album. The last verse "home...home again, I like to be here when I can....." That's actually a reprise of an earlier track "Breathe (in the air)" so you see its 1 big beautiful work of art. If you really want to see the guys "back in the day" here a clip showing them playing live in an ancient Roman Amphitheatre with No Audience! This was just before they recorded DSOTM but you get to see Roger Waters (Bass / lyrics5) Dave Gilmour (Lead Guitar / Vocals) Richard Wright (Keyboards / Vocals) Nick Mason (Drums) Part 1 of a little song about the creation of all life on this planet and how we are all related and should be better human beings😉 Pink Floyd - "Echoes" Live at Pompeii 1972 th-cam.com/video/LxksRFZacJI/w-d-xo.html
Thank you for doing this reaction. Not done yet but you're giving it so much thought which happens to be the key.....could I make a few suggestions for other Pink Floyd songs ? These are long tracks but very much worth giving a listen. First would be "Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Parts I - V) and (Parts Vi - IX) it's two different videos and you can do it as two separate reactions....please only the studio versions so you can hear each note perfectly. Second would be the studio version of Pink Floyd, "Dogs" A long track but great if you like listening to music and also if you like to listen to the way the song is put together. there is a studio version on you tube that has w/lyrics. That is the best one so you can follow along during the times when they are singing. Enjoy and thanks again for this reaction. I so totally can't wait for more but wait I will. Third and last suggestion: Everyone will tell you that ya gotta have headphones on to listen to Pink Floyd (check !!! - you're wearing them) and that when you listen to the album, "The Dark Side Of The Moon" you should react to the entire album in two reactions because the album is actually one complete piece ... the others will explain.
Pink Floyd was one of the best bands this song is from the the beginning of life tell death this band told stories within music I have most of pink floyd thanks for that song A +
You must listen to the whole album to get the context of this song, no lady/ladies in the band session singer/singers. Just remember how old thses guys were when this was written and recorded. The end of the song takes you into the next track that is why you should listen to the whole album.

You really must listen to the whole album from start to finish. There are no song beginnings or endings per se, they flow into one another. Yes, masterful story telling and creating musical imagery... This is one of the most sold albums of all time - and a masterpiece. And yes, NEVER interrupt a David Gilmour guitar solo! Here is a live version that illustrates how imagery meshes with the music, and their live shows were incredible: (I saw one live in 1977) th-cam.com/video/GG2tZNOQWAA/w-d-xo.html (Time) And you must listen to: th-cam.com/video/vWZ6hmHj2MA/w-d-xo.html (The Great Gig In The Sky) (not as good as the original singer, but not bad) Another you should listen to is of course "Money" from the same concert: th-cam.com/video/rgmce_XukRQ/w-d-xo.html (Money) th-cam.com/video/LezoMi3yftM/w-d-xo.html (Us And Them) th-cam.com/video/KW2UwELSE3M/w-d-xo.html (Any Color You Like) th-cam.com/video/uPnlZB6XiM8/w-d-xo.html (Brain Damage) th-cam.com/video/yeohTfT5fcU/w-d-xo.html (Eclipse) The above five songs comprise the 2nd side of Dark Side of the Moon. But the raw talent is not confined to Dark Side. Check out these two by David Gilmour Live in Gdansk: th-cam.com/video/rU_k8BNCcOM/w-d-xo.html (High Hopes) th-cam.com/video/t3AosAlaODw/w-d-xo.html (Shine On You Crazy Diamond) And finally this classic: th-cam.com/video/xEMy34qhQe4/w-d-xo.html (On The Turning Away)

Do yourself a favor and listen to the studio version of COMFORTABLY NUMB. Then, watch the video of COMFORTABLY NUMB live at the PULSE CONCERT (1994). It is worth taking a few extra minutes to hear this song twice, and you will see what Pink Floyd is capable of in a live performance.
This song is part of a complete journey through life on the dark side of the moon album. You need to listen to it right through from start to finish! As you like female vocals wait until you get to “great gig in the sky”
Just cause someone likes on song by an artist doesnt mean they will like every song by them. I can count on 1 hand the number of artists i can listen to every song of. The rest i might only like one song of. I have maybe close to 3000 songs in my collection with over 800 artits. Thats an average of less than 4 songs per artist. And 90% of them i just have their one good hit song. So seeing people spout for people to listen to artists entire albums is just blasphemy to me.
Oh and when hearing a PF track for the first time you might want to suspend the idea of an "intro". Just because there aren't lyrics don't think for a second your not being told a story. The story starts being told from the very first moment.
I hope you had access to the lyrics as they are extremley profound... No female members in the band but they utilised some extremely talented female backup singers on records and in concerts.
Who could be mean to you?!? You're a lovely young lady. Shame on them. Yes. It's a bit annoying when I'm loving a solo & it's paused-but the whole point to this video is YOUR REACTION. You pointed out things I didn't notice & Pink Floyd has been my all time favorite for over 40 years. Please read the lyrics as you listen to this again. Maybe you won't waste your youth like so many of us do. Now do Us and Them.
Were you listening to the words? This wasn't a song about getting through a day. This was a song about completing a life. The end of the song is about death. That's why it feeds right into the next song which IS all about death.

Aww thanks CR you are a wonderful family member 🥺
Well done, nice reaction. In fact, I would have four pieces of information for you:
1: At 2:42 - The 2 minute long intro of this song is nothing compared to that of their track (Wish You Were Here) which included an 8 minute and 42 second intro before the first lyrics.
2: At 7:22 - The female voices you hear are those of the choristers, they are not part of the band members.
3: At 8:20 - When you say they're slowing down the pace of the song, actually at that point it's the transition between song (time) and song (Breathe Reprise), "Home, Home Again "...
4: At 9:10 - The lyrics of (Breathe Reprise) are also and especially related to the first part of (Breathe), which is about the hard work and performance required to survive in a world where everyone is desperately short of time. ;
"Run, rabbit run. - Dig that hole, forget the sun,
And when at last the work is done - Don't sit down it's time to dig another one ".
As you so aptly mention, it's poetry. Well done, Bravo.
You must be right. Hello The pragmatic 😇
Re point 1: Don't you mean "Shine On You Crazy Diamond"? "Wish You Were Here" is not such a long song ...
@@lubos1207 Whoops ! my mistake, you are absolutely right.

Thank you for the correction.
You really need to watch footage of them live in concert. Will blow your mind.
Another great reaction I love this song and the older I get the more meaningful it becomes
Hi Robert
They have no females in the band but they hire good female singers when they need.
This is what we need, short intro. Straight into it. Not 10 mins talking before the song starts.
This is my favourite song ever.
nevermind the 10 mins talking during the song.
Thanks Nemo guess I am not alone my did heart skipped in that bell intro I guess that may be one of the intentions of the artist 😅
I saw Pink Floyd in 1994. That concert was awesome!
@@MrsPenPal Wait till you hear Great Gig in the Sky...🙏
Thank you for posting a response to this comment. I appreciate your openness and encouraging words.
A gorgeous thing. And, in general, I think Pink Floyd is an iconic band.
Hello
DSOTM is a masterpiece but Animals is my favourite a very dark album check it out.
"...The sun is the same in a relative way but you're older,
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death"
Check out "Us and Them" by them from this same album.
Hi xabia I can imagine
How do you think I feel ? lol
I went to the Debut of this Album t Earls Court in West London with 18,000 others in 1973 and now 48 years have flown by and I am 67 years old in London :)
Pink Floyd are an iconic British band, along with Yes, Genesis, The Beatles, Iron Maiden and Marillion. My all-time favourite band is Rush; they have an interesting back story.
Oh wow they are British, this is the first mention on the thread I think. Thank you! Britain has many great bands
Thank Jon. It would unfortunate to be bride or groom left for a concert 😸
@@MrsPenPal They may get married in a week. Pink Floyd can be seen live once in a lifetime. The wedding will wait ;-).
ha ha ha
Watch Comfortably Numb from the Pulse concert...stunning! Please, less pauses...you won't have copyright problems with Pink Floyd.
Way to go you came ready 🚀
I consider the Pulse concert to be probably the best live performance in history. An experience not only for the ears but also for the eyes and soul!
Thank you
A masterpiece of music 💟
Truly
Pink Floyd is one of the greatest bands in history
Pink Floyd is like a musical and sonic kaleidoscope, and all their songs are adventurous! There's probably a hundred of them. Enjoy!
🚀
@@MrsPenPal Thanks for your rocket! Since you're currently on The Dark Side of the Moon, you might try "The Great Gig in the Sky." It's where "Time," winding down, goes into...Cheers!
Thank you
You should react to Great Gig In The Sky which follows this theme. 👍
Thanks
Have another listen, but this time really listen to the lyrics. It will make you re-evaluate your entire life, past, present and future.
Remember that this is one of the greatest rock band ever and this was composed in 1971... you really have to listen to the whole album in one stretch and with lyrics; if you don't read the lyrics you're missing half of the pleasure / experience !
I heard this for the first time in my buddy's car right as it was released. We stayed in the car until it was over. Still love it.
Wow
I love this.Human beings are so creative.Is this an instrumental,like instruments only?....Gold.
Don’t ruin the fun
@@MrsPenPal very good.That is platinum
FYI - NEVER, EVER interupt a David Gilmour guitar solo. It is sacrilege.
Oh no🥺
Oh bore off.
If a Male Reactor did that Neil he would be sliced thru' by a saw to be tortured or executed. He would be held upside down, allowing the blood to rush to their head, and then the torturer would slowly start slicing them between their legs.
With the blood contained in the head, he would remain conscious throughout most of the slicing, often only passing out or dying when the saw hit their mid-section
This may be considered a tad extreme by some but appropriate in this case...

Wow thanks Ishwara
Everything floyd is GOLD, they are LEGENDARY, UK music at its very best
Love this song. Great reaction!
The whole album is a journey."
So is "Pyramid" from Alan Parsons Project and so ist "The Wall".

great gig in the sky is a true masterpiece
Hands down the greatest album ever recorded. Check out The Great Gig In The Sky, Clare Torry is probably one of my absolute favorite female singers of all time. Her voice as close as you get to divine intervention.
Mrs. Penpal if you would like to see pink floyd like they were back when they were young, you really should watch "Echoes" Live at Pompeii. You'll see them as they were. Love your music by the way.
Thanks Kenny I appreciate you
Oh and just to hit home the must listen to the album. The last verse "home...home again, I like to be here when I can....."
That's actually a reprise of an earlier track "Breathe (in the air)" so you see its 1 big beautiful work of art.
If you really want to see the guys "back in the day" here a clip showing them playing live in an ancient Roman Amphitheatre with No Audience! This was just before they recorded DSOTM but you get to see
Roger Waters (Bass / lyrics5)
Dave Gilmour (Lead Guitar / Vocals)
Richard Wright (Keyboards / Vocals)
Nick Mason (Drums)
Part 1 of a little song about the creation of all life on this planet and how we are all related and should be better human beings😉

Hi Pa
If you've not reacted to PF GREAT GIG IN THE SKY !! OOOO AAAAHHHS off this album...
Ha ha ha ha i got a good number of requests for Great Gig thanks Paul
Whoa thank you!
Creative is definately an understatement with this band. You havent even really got going yet. It is like this with all songs.
Pink Floyd was one of the best bands this song is from the the beginning of life tell death this band told stories within music I have most of pink floyd thanks for that song A +
Hi Mark
You must listen to the whole album to get the context of this song, no lady/ladies in the band session singer/singers. Just remember how old thses guys were when this was written and recorded. The end of the song takes you into the next track that is why you should listen to the whole album.

If you like female vocals in Pink Floyd's music. Listen to "The Great Gig In The Sky". The vocalist is Clare Torry. She will blow you away.
Here is a live version that illustrates how imagery meshes with the music, and their live shows were incredible: (I saw one live in 1977)
th-cam.com/video/GG2tZNOQWAA/w-d-xo.html (Time)
And you must listen to:
th-cam.com/video/vWZ6hmHj2MA/w-d-xo.html (The Great Gig In The Sky) (not as good as the original singer, but not bad)
Another you should listen to is of course "Money" from the same concert:
th-cam.com/video/rgmce_XukRQ/w-d-xo.html (Money)
th-cam.com/video/LezoMi3yftM/w-d-xo.html (Us And Them)

th-cam.com/video/uPnlZB6XiM8/w-d-xo.html (Brain Damage)
th-cam.com/video/yeohTfT5fcU/w-d-xo.html (Eclipse)
The above five songs comprise the 2nd side of Dark Side of the Moon. But the raw talent is not confined to Dark Side.
Check out these two by David Gilmour Live in Gdansk:
th-cam.com/video/rU_k8BNCcOM/w-d-xo.html (High Hopes)

They are all about tones. Maybe try the "Pulse" Comfortly numb. Prepare yourself , you heart will feel it. I promise in a good way .
Looking forward to your reaction to this. Also litsen to Great Gig in the Sky. :-)
Thanks J
Oh and when hearing a PF track for the first time you might want to suspend the idea of an "intro".
Just because there aren't lyrics don't think for a second your not being told a story.
The story starts being told from the very first moment.
Intro, shmintro. Its the song. Forget the formulaic view. Its not made for radio, its Pink Floyd
I hope you had access to the lyrics as they are extremley profound... No female members in the band but they utilised some extremely talented female backup singers on records and in concerts.
That’s lovely the lyrics where quite clear this one

In the intro the guitar slowly strums 12 times like a clock

Were you listening to the words? This wasn't a song about getting through a day. This was a song about completing a life. The end of the song is about death. That's why it feeds right into the next song which IS all about death.
That was meant as an imagery not about the meaning of the song. The lyrics are quite clear on the meaning
