I mean genji is definitely and aggressive character. You just have to know when to not overextend. It’s easy to get a good momentum and wanna play like a ninja methhead.

If you are going to blade you should also make a pathing in your head while you are mid-air dash instead of improvising, helps a lot

Matchup section was very usefull even for an experienced Genji player, since you really need to have your time invested to research all these OW2 numbers for a different abilities, like Sombra's new hack for example.
My addition to all this: don't fuck with Zarya on Genji. Just don't. While Torb and Bastion are still banned she became an absolute unit, that would just fry everything alive in front of her on a very significant distanse. She won't even bother to bubble anyone other that herself, she would just use her almost 10 seconds of bubble fame on herself and delete enemy team alone. The only cure to this as of now imo is harrasing her with Mei. Lure all Zarya's aggression on yourself, hide in an ice block or behind a wall. Cut her from her team, put her in the middle of your freezing field. Your team will thank you. And don't forget to spam in chat "you like them beam guns, don't you?"
And when she will switch, go back to Genji again.

I'm having a hard time learning how to aim the shurikens consistently, been trying to practice but sometimes I think I hit someone and they just phase through them. When I dragonblade I try to be aware where enemies are but most of the time that I've been practicing I get lost in the adrenaline and it's so hard to know where they are after one kill. He is like a character that I normally like, agile, sneaky and cool but man since OW1 I've never been able to be good with him, I tried once years ago and just quit and now I'm trying to find another DPS I could play as and giving it another shot but it's frustrating. Doesn't help that the matches I've played in most of the time I do not get healed and I make sure I'm in LOS of my healers (Lucio I can't do anything if I go further) so it has been painful but I'm trying to not give up.
Personally i use the map code ACZ1F. The bots randomly strafe left and right so you can just work on aiming. Big tip is don't constantly be double jumping. If you dash in or are flanking just strafe instead of jumping to make it easier to hit shots. Double jumping while the enemy isn't fully aware of you is just making it harder for you to aim. As for blade slow it down. I had a huge problem of going too fast for my own good and getting lost. Focus on 2 enemies at the start. Kill the first and dash to the second. From there you can look around for another enemy. Then slowly start working at looking for your third target while killing the first or second one.
Mate, I hear you- I still struggle with that blade adrenaline and nailing the shurikens. The answer to aiming with shurikens is just honestly plain old practice, but the blade thing- KEEP IN MIND, ONE kill is often good enough, and from there you can focus on who's next. In OW2 a single kill is such a massive advantage, so don't feel bad if that's all you're getting!

As been said - for blade one kill is pretty much enough. Choose a target and try to delete it. Then protect yourself and look for another kill if possible. These days you may just pull you blade, listen to a transcendence or Lucio shields animation and don't engage at all. Seriously, it would be a better decision in 90% of such situations.
For shurikens: yeah, practice, alright, shitton of it. But here's some tips:
- if you can't hit a target with a melee attack, you're out of shurikens best range.
- Watch them shurikens go. Seriously, watch them. Don't hate them for being so lame and slow. Just watch every little guy's trajectory. When their flight will burn inro your retina like a sun spot, then real magic begins. You'll stop seeing their trajectory when they fly and start TO VISUALIZE them before they even go. And this imaginary trajectory will become some sort of a visible to you only long ranged melee weapon. "Spear" on primary and "sword slash" on alternative.

do you plan on doing one of these for tracer? I see a lot of people say she's really good, but it feels like she's just a worse version of genji or sombra because of how low her damage is now. I feel like unless I just hit every sticky, I don't really have the agency to turn a losing fight, especially if the other teams healers are even half aware lol
She's honestly a lot stronger in terms of the game dynamic changing, BUT the damage nerf definitely hit her hard, and I wouldn't say she's "good" in OW2 especially in low-mid ranks. Definitely planning on one, just don't know when.
@@StormcrowProductions Yes please do a tracer guide. And I'd really like for you to focus on how the low damage/5v5 changes her playstyle. It feels I can't 1v1 any DPS without an advantage anymore due to the extra clip needed, thus requiring more blinks, more chances for them to hit a headshot and time to get heals/peel.
I swear to god these have to be paid actors because my healers are always subpar and my enemies seem to have the mind of Albert Einstein.

I think I only want to play rank cause every time I’m in a 1v3 then it’s a 1v2 my team still wont come to help me after I killed 1 of those enemy players my team is never around it’s so frustrating I 1v3 then I make it a 1v1 and die my still not around or soon as I flank and do a lot of damage the whole team is on me and my team still doesn’t help
Does anyone have adivce on how to duel a Moira as a Genji beginner? I recently started being interested in playing him and I am learning him quite well, but I always lose against Moira when she is pulling me. I have a Moira friend with whom I will practice, but I'd appreciate any tipps on that one. Thank you!

watch pros play genji! you really see how you should improve when you see someone like shadder2k play and have all these flanks that shadders(shatters) the backline of the enemy team

How do you do it how do you get kills if I so much as breath during a match I am shot at firing squad style regardless of how many team members are standing in front of me I feel like I’m being punished for playing the game and it doesn’t help that I am consistently doing my own healing I am in a constant 1 v 5 situation and it’s given me a mental breakdown twice because I have well over 200 hours on this game and all that time is worth FUCKING SHIT WTF AM I DOING WRONG WHY AM I GETTING FUCKING 1 SHOT IN EVERY ENCOUNTER WHY CANT I LEAVE THE FUCKING SPAWN WITHOUT GETTING 1 SHOT WHY CANT I PLAY THE FUCKING GAME
I question a lot of things in this guide. Dash entry? Asking for death… should be used to get a pick and work from there
You failed to mention a crucial trick of playing Genji: how to measure your dash distance. That separates good Genji and average Genji. Aim for enemies feet when dashing, you stop right in front of them, aim for the hips/mid part of your enemy, you dash stops right behind then. Link the dash with quick right click and melee is enough for you to kill an 200hp target. Idk y you didn’t mention this

Genji is actually ruining the game right now. Blade if used properly is mostly a free win and when he has nano it's actually just gg. You either NEED to run a Lucio or a Zen against him to counter his ult which is bad and limits playable characters. The fact that he can fight you in a 360 degree angle is nuts.
He is too free. ofcourse you do need the skills for him but he's too dominant and the fact that he's one of the only characters you actively need to counter goes against OW2's vision.
He is really really fun to play tho.
He’s got so many counters still though.
