    The label on Easy-Off says to warm the oven up before use. East-off is made for women who read the label first. My wife told me after I cleaned our oven the 1st time.

    I have some stainless steel pots and pans. What I have found that works for me is to try and clean them often with Dawn dish soap, Bar Keepers Friend, and a scrubbing pad. Takes a little effort, but not much. Another thing that I do, as others have said, is to run cold water on the hot pan and let it soak for a while. Most stuff will come off except for the burnt oil. I then clean as mentioned above.

    You may have meant it to be funny, but the power washer thing is really a good idea - especially seeing how easy it was to clean all the Easy-off away, without having to put on gloves and wipe the pan.

    After using my All-Clad everyday for ten years, pans still like new. Just get in the habit of either deglazing the pan while cooking, or else wait until you are done cooking and simply pour a cup of water into the still hot pan and cover it with a lid. When you go back later, or even the next morning, whatever was stuck to the pan will have softened, and all you have to do is wipe it off with a soft sponge. Clean as new!
    If you didn’t do that, pour some baking soda over the damp pan and add water - cover and bring to boil - then turn off. Shouldn’t be difficult to scrub off.

    I liked the video because it was cute and funny. I clean my pans using a baking powder and water paste applied with an old toothbrush or sponge. I was recently given an old fashioned heavy skillet, used by my friend for over 50 years. I don't know how to properly clean it. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks for sharing your tricks and tips! I enjoy your short videos very much.

      I also have a cast iron skillet. I was always told you season the skillet and you never use soap on the cast iron skillet. I will research the best method and if I find a good method i'll add that video to my channel.

      I use a cast iron skillet that was once my great grandmothers. Well over 100 years old! Over time the oils really build up on them and this skillet was so nasty when I got it. I soaked the skillet in ammonia for a few hours then went to work scrubbing as close to bare iron as possible. Then wash with lots of dish soap and boiling water, even a small metal spatula to gently scrape at the century of oil. Yuk! Then I reseasoned it and it’s perfect. I will use dish soap in cast iron depending on what I have cooked. The key is to rinse and rinse and rinse, otherwise the seasoned iron can retain the taste of soap. Then I low heat dry on the range with a light coating of oil. If your cast iron is seasoned well, dish soap to wash will not remove the seasoning. I don’t leave cast iron soaking in dishwater. This is, from what I understand, the same procedure if you find any rust spots on the skillet!
      I hope you guys don’t mind my input. I love my ancient cast iron pieces and expect them to be used by my great grand children💛🙂💛

      Good to know I will have to try it. My mother has the black all-clad LTD series pans. She put them in the dishwasher, and the black sides now look faded. That's the main reason I haven't tried that yet on mine. Well, thanks for watching

    • @dededenver9560
      @dededenver9560 ปีที่แล้ว

      @onesimpledad won't happen with pans that are stainless inside and out. If any grime remains after a trip through the dishwasher, a quick going over with Barkeepers Friend and rinse and they're perfect again.
      The black part of the LTD series is made from adonized aluminum. Aluminum shouldn't be washed in the dishwasher or it's permanently discolored. The couple of adonized aluminum pans I own are always hand washed, as are my nonstick pans.

    Applying cold water to a hot pan will make it warp. It's not recommended. Easy off is the way to go. For very stubborn grease, apply easy off, put it in a garbage bag and seal it, leave it in the sun for few hours, everything will be coming off. I use this method to remove factory seasoning for cast iron cookware. Easy off can damage your stainless cookware if you leave them on on the exposed aluminum. The chemical reaction is so strong, it will pull away some of the aluminum and leave a rough pitting edge. That's why if you have all clad cookwares, wipe them off the edge immediately after applying it. Bar keepers friend is also a good option for everyday cleaning.

    • @onesimpledad
      @onesimpledad  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, you are correct about the cold water and a hot pan. Being a former executive chef, I've seen many cheaper pans get destroyed that way. I also mention in the video I don't recommend heating a pan and then using cold water. Video was first filmed just to be funny trying to see what a pressure washer would do to a pan but then was surprised i found a way to get my pans clean. Hopefully no one takes the video too serious. I will have to try that bar keeper friend as well as the easy off and the garage bag trick. Seeing how well easy off takes off that stubborn grease i could only assume its a strong chemical that may do damage if done multiple times for a long periods of time.
      Well I hope you enjoyed the video and thank you for watching and if you want to see any of my cooking videos. Please check out my other TH-cam channel #OneSimpleChef

    SMDH..... I'm 55 and utterly shocked by what I saw in this video.... EZ off work very well if you read the instructions and let is sit on the pan or oven for 30-45-60 mins....the use of the Pressure washer was not remotely needed....Boiling water with Vinegar & Baking soda soak for similar times will loosen up and remove the scorched grease/oils....Using the Old Standard SOS pads work too when pan is warm....How do people get that much cooking oil on the Outside of their cookware and not Clean it Off before next use and what are you cooking at such high heat to burn oil to the pans/pots interior/exterior?

    • @sherrycohen1824
      @sherrycohen1824 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      All-Clad suggested not using steel wool. Use Bon Ami or Barkeepers Friend. Actually, when food gets burned on our pans, I pour full-strength ammonia and get out of the kitchen because I don't like the smell. By morning, everything cleans off easily with a sponge and dishwashing detergent.
