Grace, I truly recommend you watch Rebels before Ahsoka, it’ll elevate your experience, don’t watch the whole thing but the essential episodes deserve your attention definitely!

Man it is so satisfying hearing that Graces been sucked into the animation side of Star Wars, more so than any of the movies this was my Star Wars growing up

Hey Grace, Rebels is definitely worth a go as well, I think Disney sometimes has a playlist with essential episodes on their Star Wars hub on Disney+ :) I wouldn't watch everything because it's a lot but it'll give you a good sense of what happened to Ahsoka.
Grace, one episode The Clone Wars set the stage for an episode of The Bad Batch. That was the episode of the clone who had defected and started a family for himself. It made a significant social statement when loyal clones discovered him.
As much as I love Andor, you really can tell that Filioni learned from George Lucas. That balance of serious and fun is a tough thing, and he does it great!
Big Facts
Stop giving Filoni the credits for this. It's actually unethical when it comes to how often writers don't get the credits they deserve. Writers other than Filoni have written TBB season 3 episodes.

I love seeing you enjoy the animated side of Star Wars! You definitely don’t need to watch all of Clone Wars or Rebels, BUT I would suggest watching some of the best and most important arcs when you have a chance such as the Ahsoka vs Vader Season 2 finale of Rebels and multiple different Clone Wars arcs. I’m sure there is a great list online.

I just wish we get out of this period and explore the Old Republic era a bit, I just don't understand why they keep on ignoring it :(, that would be such an epic saga!
Cause they only have one chance to go into one of the most beloved periods of the franchise. Considering the track record people are skeptical

@@Darylchurch Tried to do that by reading some of the comics and started with the first book but I found the whole concept of the Jedi at their height unappealing and frankly boring.
The only real challenge to the Jedi are the Sith, I can't help but feel that Disney and the current management of the SW franchise wanted a "safe" alternative to the Old Republic thus the HR was developed.

Please Please watch rebels (clone wars is too long and the first few seasons are good but season 3/4 is where it starts to get amazing). REBELS IS SO IMPORTANT FOR THE AHSOKA SHOW AND ITS 39 EPS ITS NOT THAT LONG and the characters are so so so amazing… I cant wait to see them in ahsoka
I enjoy keeping up with this franchise media through your reviews, Grace. But as a former Star Wars fan (dropped off after Solo), I don’t really understand why anyone would “aspire” to be a fan of a particular IP.
My thinking is IP needs to earn its fans by doing good work.

Grace!!! We should give you a list of Ahsoka only developments from the Clone Wars. Like a compiled list of only watch these arcs, so you can appreciate Ahsoka more. Then you don’t have to watch the entire show haha.

Grace, Andor and Rebels were the only star wars shows that actually made my jaw drop because that's how good they were. If you have to pick, pick Rebels over Clone Wars because it's just that incredible.

I've grown up with it and I Love all The Animated Shows From Star Wars SOOOOOO Much!!!!!! Also these First Two Episodes were Awesome!!! It was Great to see The Bad Batch return!!! Hunter and Wrecker were Awesome, As Always and I Love Omega So Much!!! Tech was Also Awesome in these two episodes! He's always been so underappreciated and I was so scared when He fractured his Leg. But then He basically saved them all! Also Echo got a lot to do too which makes Me So Happy because I've always been A huge Fan of Him since His First Episode In The Clone Wars! These two Episodes in General were just Amazing!!!

Grace, I was late to Rebels as well. So much better than Andor. The best Star Wars animated series. Star Wars lore done correctly and authentically. Very compelling character development.

GRACE! For clones wars atleast watch a few of the best arcs. Umbara arc, Mortis arc, Citadel arc. There's so many that only take a few an hour or two to enjoy. Peak Star Wars
The animation has always been top tier storytelling. I started to watch the CLONE WARS during the pandemic, it took a while to finish. Dave Filoni worked with George Lucas to create something really special. You gain more of a scope of the clone wars and you understand why ANAKIN feels the way he does, improving REVENGE OF THE SITH. I moved into REBELS (might of been more kiddish) but the stories are equally as good. In the two series , it sets up so many characters that appear in MANDALORIAN and BOOK OF BOBA FETT that some of the later appearances /storylines of the characters in live action are disappointing…

Grace I'd seriously recommend checking out specific episodes of Rebels before the Ashoka series, you will understand so much more thoroughly and have an amazing time.

As someone who has been invested in the old Legends and current Disney continuities, I must say Rian Johnson and Tony Gilroy have dominated what Star Wars storytelling could be. It’s sad most people don’t agree and are satisfied with the lower tier story writing of the franchise.
I've never sat down and watched Clone Wars or Rebels in episode order, but I have seen buckets or chunks of episodes. It works this way! I've watched a lot and feel totally invested in it. Grace, happy you are now a part of the tribe!

I found myself fast forwarding through many of the Omega scenes. I didn't feel the need to skip over any part of the Andor episodes. I'll probably binge BB two or three episodes at a time since they're so short.
I almost cried at the finale of the Bad Batch...this season is incredible...
Its not as much of a commitment as you might think each episode is only around 20 minutes i can always find 20 minutes to watch an episode here and there usually right before bedtime. Before you know it you have watched all of clone wars and rebels
I love the Bad Batch since they was introduced and I really liked the the first season. Omega is a good addition, and an interesting character I'm looking forward to follow, hopefully for several seasons.
Would love to know if we are better to watch the whole Start Wars Clone War or only the finally is meaning last season? Or I can start from here already

Just find a list of the important episodes of rebels. It had no business getting 4 seasons. Watching all of clone wars, however, is basically required

Clone wars is worth your time. Don’t watch it for work. Just at your leisure. I think you will have a good time. Especially with the clone centric episodes. Fives was the MVP
As much as I agree with what Grace is saying here, it is so so so so so so so so worth it to watch Clone Wars and Rebels. Bad Batch is very good too, but Clone Wars is on another level and continues to be relevant to live action shows.

The incredibly high quality of the SW material Filoni created with all of his animated series over years is why most fans trust him so much with leading SW where it should be now and in the future. Hopefully, he gets the same position as Gunn did for DC to run all of the creative side of LF.

Good to hear the next season is a good one. Enjoyed the hell out of the first but found the best way to watch it was to do a two part binge and let the episodes playthrough like a two part movie.
Grace I think if you simply just watch the last 2 seasons of Rebels that should be fine. You might miss some stuff but those last 2 seasons are really good. And particularly important regarding Mandalorian season 3 and Ahsoka. But good villains are introduced as well as good rebel stories that happen before Rogue One

I feel you on the Rebels eps, and I honestly skipped through a bunch, you can watch the episodes with just Ashoka in them, there are some great moments there, and I’d advise just skipping season 1 of clone wars if u ever wanted to watch that (I know u have a lot to watch in a general sense) it is so so so worth it though, it’s incredible stuff

Also, yes I agree with the others to watch Rebels if you can because it seems Ahsoka is a direct continuation of that story. Plus, it’s also got tons of other lore too for Ezra, Sabine, Hera, and Thrawn (which are gonna be in Ahsoka)
You have to watch Star Wars Rebels & Tales Of The Jedi. Rebels starts off for kids then shit gets real. Rebels & The Clone Wars grows it with the protagonists Ezra & Ahsoka.
Star Wars Resistance isn’t that great. It’s cute. & a lil’ bland.

I must say the bad batch was the first animated Star Wars I actually hated , all the episodes felt like filler with the same rehashed story each episode. I’m praying this second season is as good as CW was
Rebels is kind of boring compared to CW; I’d definitely look up one of the key episode guides online and go from there as opposed to watching it from beginning to end.

The animated series are what made me finally connect to Star Wars as well. It's so difficult to convince people to watch the animated series even though they're so important.
For Rebels, you may want to watch it before Ahsoka based on what we've heard of the series, but imo Rebels was harder to get into even though when it peaks, it really peaks.
I managed to binge all 4 seasons of rebels and it was really good. Can't get myself to watch Bad Batch tho😂
I hate to break it to you Grace but the reason Filoni’s live action shows aren’t as good as his animated shows is due to Jon Favreau and his influence. Favreau is marvelizing his corner of Star Wars and not in a good way.

Last year I finally watched all.seasons of The Clone Wars and it was AMAZING. Rebels was also good, with interesting exploration of the Force.
