Im not even a parent yet God willing and I resonate with this statement. I used to think my grandma was the meanest woman alive but it was her discipline that makes me strive to be a virtuous woman as best I can be
Yes. I have 3 and people criticize me when I talk to mine like this. It's looked at in our community as babying or spoiling but every mistake a child makes doesn't warrant a spanking/whooping. A.k.a why most people from millennials on back have so called childhood trauma, misplaced emotions and for a lot of men being told to not show emotions sad or otherwise. This was a rant but your words said all this and more tho ☺️
My grandfather used to cry, him showing his emotions was everything to me bro so when I cried he made me feel like my feelings was valid, miss u Pa Pa, imma teach my little ones the same thing 💯
I want you to know that I worked many years in domestic violence at the felony level; and I have had beautiful little boys share with me that they have been thrown against walls, and pummeled like grown men by their fathers, for their mistakes. Know that your example is important, needed, and deeply appreciated. May God's blessings continue to rest upon you and your entire family.
👏🏽”How are you going to know these things if I don’t teach you?” Best statement ever from a real Parent🙂🥺Our children NEEDS guidance and correction.Emotional Awareness is the number one asset to thrive in any setting. Bless your family 🙏🏾
Normally I would say somethings need to stay private. But I must say this was necessary for someone. I pray for your family as you’ll continue to raise this next generation with integrity, love and accountability. Way to be a great example for fathers everywhere 🙌🏽🙏🏽❤️
I initially felt conflicted about seeing Roro cry on camera, but I had to remember that this specific video is also part of the human experience and it’s ridiculous for us to expect TH-camrs to only show us the “good” or “happy” moments. I took this as a teaching moment for me and others who didn’t experience this type of discipline. Children can be taught with love.
Honestly I appreciate this video so much. As a single mom this is important to see. Until that special day where my kid had that help from a father, women like me can learn from this.
I seriously hope every dad (me included) can catch the unspoken lessons here. Eye contact, accountability, sincerity, honest, blunt, but also trust, love, and much more attributes. Thank you AGAIN Devale for another example

What you did for your son in that moment will stay with him for the rest of his life. Loads of respect to you for being a EXCELLENT father and an example to your children.
Man if more parents did this we would have a better generation of adults and children. A lot of our emotions were dismissed when we growing up and we were just beat and hit on which in most cases were our parents own frustrations. This video is simply beautiful. Im proud of the way he allowed his son to express himself, told him where he was wrong and then showed him love. Job well done!
"Accountability Hurts, its okay to Cry but its your emotions you have to control" These words will resignate with your children. You and your family are and continue to be a great example! Peace, love & blessings to you all.

Ok. Now I'm crying! Your willingness to share your family with the world and let us see a healthy, black family. Love this lesson!
You are a Good Father Family is everything yes yes Kids will Learn from Daddy I enjoyed the video God Bless Love it ❤️❤️❤️❤️😎
I love this. That is the way children should be spoken to.
@@Daviss0413 every behavior doesn't warrant a spanking sometimes a little talking to is probably all it takes.
Nothing but love a daddy and his son’s

Love this. There's some grown men and women who need this talk and the hug.
Yes 🙋🏾♀️
Now this is why Fatherhood is SOOOOOO important!!!
My grandfather used to cry, him showing his emotions was everything to me bro so when I cried he made me feel like my feelings was valid, miss u Pa Pa, imma teach my little ones the same thing 💯
Out here breaking generational trauma cycles. I love to see it! Hoping I can handle these situations so calmly with my sons in the future.
Devale is a king maker for real. Like how wonderful of a father is he?! I can’t even. 🥺💙
Taught me a lot! Thank you!!!!! Pray my Suns be great in this lifetime!!! Pray I do my best to teach them!!! Thank you again💙🌞👑🌞👑🌞👑
Ro is a Virgo baby already being hard on himself. He is blessed to have the parents he has ✨🙏🏻

Normally I would say somethings need to stay private. But I must say this was necessary for someone. I pray for your family as you’ll continue to raise this next generation with integrity, love and accountability. Way to be a great example for fathers everywhere 🙌🏽🙏🏽❤️
Completely agree. This was a private moment but so important to see real men training their son's to be real men❤❤❤❤
Yes I so agree 100%... Bravo to Ellise
Everyone talking bout what he said which was great. But the level of calmness the ENTIRE time
🎯that part
I seriously hope every dad (me included) can catch the unspoken lessons here. Eye contact, accountability, sincerity, honest, blunt, but also trust, love, and much more attributes. Thank you AGAIN Devale for another example
@David Jones: I Agree....I Am A Black Woman(And Mother),Many Times Over(We In Our Own)Community(Do Not Uphold),The Wonderful Black Fathers That Do Exist....Too Tainted By The Ones Who Aren't Physically Or Emotionally Present!!!!, I Will Always Give Credit Where It Is Due(I Am Sure That)You Are One Of The Good Ones Yourself..
Keep Showing Up, It Makes A Difference😊, To You As Well Devale!!!!, Bless Up
@@sugarpie8137 yess Natasha! Thank for that compliment. One of the best feelings is being a Father
I love how this black man took the time to meet his son half way and speak to his heart. I Wish more Dads took the time to talk and explain instead of just hitting. Creating a safe place!!!!👏🏾
Mr. Ellis you're a blessed, beautiful example. You're saving lives Sir. Know that, for sure.
Lord, I'm over here crying. Thank you for teaching your son that it's OK to cry.
God, thank you for this family and please continue to protect them. In Jesus' name. Amen.
Devales developing princes into emotionally mature kings❤️. Whats even heartwarming is knowing that there's an entire tribe in the background helping to take care of Khadeen and Dakota. Love❤️y'all, Ellises!
Good father teaching them while they young 💕💪🏽👍🏼
What you did for your son in that moment will stay with him for the rest of his life. Loads of respect to you for being a EXCELLENT father and an example to your children.
telling him to relax so he could pace his breathing and come out of the emotion to hear you was top tier parenting 👏🏾👏🏾
Congratulations Ellis family on King #4you guys are amazing and beautiful. Much ❤️
Lord have mercy! I don't think it gets any better than this! 💜
Side note: "Uncle Dolow" needs to leave my baby alone!
What a VALUABLE lesson to teach Roro that so many adults didn't get. Talk about breaking cycles, I love to see it 🤎
Man if more parents did this we would have a better generation of adults and children. A lot of our emotions were dismissed when we growing up and we were just beat and hit on which in most cases were our parents own frustrations. This video is simply beautiful. Im proud of the way he allowed his son to express himself, told him where he was wrong and then showed him love. Job well done!
Devale is a PHENOMENAL dad! I even loved that he told him it was ok to cry! Such a beautiful blessed family
Devale is Kiaro's hero but Kiaro is my guaranteed smile.
"Accountability Hurts, its okay to Cry but its your emotions you have to control" These words will resignate with your children. You and your family are and continue to be a great example! Peace, love & blessings to you all.
If I’m being honest this made my inner child want to cry 😢 I wish I had this‼️ A beautiful display of how a real man teaches his son accountability! This was inspiring for me as a parent as well!
