Basically preferred cards in game are of appropriate colors/numbers/symbols, when one doesn't have it but has a wild card, like +4, they can play it. With challenge on, you can challenge their use of +4 card and if they had the "appropriate card" in hand but used +4 to just "nuke you", you will win the challenge (and person who played that +4 gets to pick cards) because they played their +4 "out of order", so to say. If they didn't have any "appropriate card" to play (and thus playing +4 is a valid choice) and you challenge the use of +4, you will lose that challenge and get those 4 cards plus a "bonus". It's an interesting rule, adds a whole another layer to the game but at the same time many don't like it.

Hey moo I know what is the system of challenge rule. If you pick a color that connects your card for example you have red then the player will challenge then he challenge you to have a card who exact connect to the cards you have!
