The best baths I've seen are by professional sanctuaries where they place in water give something to hold onto pour water over. Touch with soap by whole hand massaging. Babies are plunged underwater whilst their mothers swim in the wild.
When you bathe him he gives out those sweet baby sounds, not the stressed sounds of being mis handled like others. I am sure you are comforting to him in his baby times.

Are you washing him in cold water, if so he is not liking it. You should only use warm water. The cold water is very traumatic to them.
