Nice to see actual film of what much of the raceway at Meadowdale was like from the driver's seat in its early years. Quite a few twists, curves, hills and the "Monza Wall" to contend with for the race drivers. I especially like the part where you see the white silo on the left (1:16) with the PURE OIL logo (out of view) at the top. Thankfully, this has been preserved and restored at what's now called "Raceway Woods." Thanks for sharing!

I never knew that Harry Heuer, my uncle, professionally raced until 25yrs ago. Heqring all the names that Harry used to say now come into full view with this film.
Thank you for posting it. I'm forwarding to his son.
    *Uncle Harry...you are missed Sir!

Wow! Meadowdale! Thank you for this. And I never knew that Roger Penske actually raced at Meadowdale in car #6.

We have two Bocar Stiletto's! The one in this film is back east in Boston I think. One of ours ran the Nassau Speedweeks in 1961.

My God-father paled about Augie Pabst back then.

Are you sure this is 1960?

The Meadowdale stuff could be. The Continental Divide stuff, assuming that's Augie winning in the Scarab, would basically have to be 1963 in the USRRC.
EDIT: I was checking again. There was a win for the team at CDR in 1960 in the USAC RRC, but the driver wasn't Heuer, it was Shelby. So I'm not entirely sure.
The team was still using what's listed as the Mk.II for Augie's 1963 win at CDR.
And the driver of the other car in 1960 wasn't Heuer, either, but John Kilborn.
So yeah, it looks like a bit of a mess as to exactly what was happening.

The race was an scca regional, and Carnes called out Harry for a two lap grudge race before the main feature on Sunday after losing to him in practice Saturday.
The in-car stuff is the grudge match.
(Harry still had his Bocar at this point in '60, kept as a spare and labled Meister Brauser III, and hated it. Carnes wanted to put him in his place. It didn't work.)
