When the actors were doing the games in this episode, it's actually kind of funny, some of them didn't actually do it all. Like the girl who is pregnant (Jun-hee) could flip the ddakji in practice but when they started to film it, she couldn't flip it. And they had to do CGI to make it look like she'd flipped it. So when she was looking down at the ddakji with surprise that she'd done it, she had to act as if she HAD flipped it when in reality she hadn't which is hilarious. She said she couldn't help but laugh at this. Also, the ex-marine guy who is good at gong-gi (Dae-ho) the actor said he practiced so much and was so good at it but he has a physical problem with his pinkys and they don't come together so the things would fall out of his hand. So the director hired a professional master gong-gi player to do the game for him and he was literally insanely amazing! The son of the mom (the guy with glasses) thought they would do CGI for him doing the throw like they did for Jun-hee but the director said, "No, you're going to actually do the throw yourself in real life. Because we don't want to pay for more CGI when we don't have to!" and he was like EHHHH?! LOLOLOL. And 001 Front Man aka In-ho, he literally was SO incredibly good at doing Spinning Top that when he tried to fail he couldn't fail. Even when he switched hands he was STILL massively good and had to work really hard to make himself fail, even when using his non-dominant hand. He even spun it with his eyes closed, backward and everything and it still spun! He finally was able to get a fail in with his non-dominant hand but it took awhile. Which is pretty funny. The other actors were laughing and jokingly said, "The reason Byung-han's so good at Spinning Top is because that's all he could do back in the past LMAO" and they all laughed hahaha.
Hyun ju played by actor (park sung-hoon) is the one who played villains in K-drama Glory and Queen of Tears. I wish Hyun ju survive in season 3😭😭😭🙏🙏the actor did a really great job as Hyun ju and Hyun ju is such a Diva, badass and kind character.
You know what they say about girls with big hands...anyway, random thing about the 'mingle game song:' we were watching a different show with the girl who played Ji-yeong in season 1, and in a flashback she sings that song. Drove me nuts knowing it was so familiar until I realized I heard it the day before in Squid game lol
The actor that plays Hyun-ju is not trans in real life, which sparked controversy at first since he wasn't the same sexuality of the character he was playing (which imo and lots of other people's opinions shouldn't matter as long as they get the representation right). But his acting made everyone fall for his character because Hyun-ju is an amazing female character! But the reason behind this is the director originally wanted to hire a real trans actress but there are pretty much 0 openly trans actresses in Korea that are Korean and speak fluent Korean because of the culture there. Korea is not that accepting of LGBTQ+ people and what Hyun-ju said happened to her in the series, that is how they would treat open trans actresses in Korea. So essentially if there was someone who was a trans actress in Korea that came out just to get the role and were hired for the part, she would potentially end up possibly destroying the rest of their career and lives after the role was over. Internationally they would be fully supported by fans but in their own country they would be ostracized and probably never get work again. Yes, they could move out of Korea and to another country but maybe they want to stay in Korea and work there and maybe their family is there and doesn't want to move. So the risks would outweigh the rewards. Thus it was almost impossible to find a real trans Korean actress to play the role. So the director settled for having someone he trusted was an amazing actor that would do the character justice and that was how Park Sung-hoon got the role.
