Here are my opinions on the first Spooksville book by Christopher Pike! Let me know if you guys think about this series as a whole. Thanks for watching!
I never read this series as a kid, I think it was a bit after my time. Christopher Pike is one of my all time favourite authors so I did start collecting these not long ago. I can't wait to give them a try, but I'm not really into Sci Fi either.....so it remains to be seen what my thoughts are. I'll probably still keep collecting them since I love Pike so much.
I’m doing the same exact thing… I love pike so much I still want to have all of his Spooksville books whether I like them or not! I have 3 so far but I literally never see them! I see his YA books way more often. Just curious, what’s your favorite Pike book?
@@ShadysideLibrary My favourite growing up was Witch. I read it so many times it literally fell apart but I'm not sure I'd pick that one now. It's been so long since I read his books that I'd have to re-read before choosing a fav, hoping to get to some this year now that I've amassed quite a few.
@@ElizabethSagewood Gotcha, so far my favorites are Master or Murder and whisper of death. The visitor started out amazing but got a little too convoluted.
Hi, good review! I read this series as a kid at the end of the 90s. Well, most of it cause I'm from Argentina and here I could only find up to book 18. I was like 9/10 years old by then and I absolutely loved Spooksville: they were really easy to read for a kid and the characters have really nice and funny dialogs. I think the mix of that character connection Pike created, the series format and the supernatural/sci-fi stories trought books is what made me loved it and kept me hooked (of course there is also an implicit question of taste, nostalgy and the moment of life that one reads it too). Sadly his stand-alone books were not published here.
I actually really liked the first book, the 2nd was ok. I have 1-20 so I’m thinking about eventually reading more. And I’m contemplating if I should read in order or try a few down the line. Thanks for the videos! It’s awesome to see someone interested in every single book series as me.
Wow I can’t believe you have the first 20 books, that’s impressive! I can never find them at local book stores and they seem to be really expensive online… I think I have 3 in total but we should buddy read one sometime! I don’t think you need to read them in order

I only have a few Spooksville books but I definitely prefer Goosebumps over Spooksville. Although, I love Christopher Pikes YA books. I think he’s a great YA author but not so much middle grade. Overall though, I am a bigger R.L. Stine fan than I am Christopher Pike.
I really wanted to ready every book from the series (I believe there is around 24 books) but im sceptical because i don't really know if it will end great. I can only compare my fear to basically the GOT tv series. Ill give it a chance though if possible. Nice video to.

I have a bit of OCD, so I can see collecting a whole series of books just to have them, but I'm not sure I could continue reading books I didn't really like. Is there a number within the series where, if you didn't like them any better, you'd just quit reading them? (I'm much, much older than you, so I see life in terms of the number of books I'll be able to read before 'the end.' It's scary!) Enjoying your channel ...
Thanks so much! I definitely have plans to give a few more of these a shot before I give up on reading them. But, as a collector I will still try to complete the whole series. No telling if I’ll read them all though. I tend to just read what I’m in the mood for. Makes me most happy!

The witch ends up becoming friends with them. It'll be my mission to find them all and re read them lol 😂
