When the inn's owner was asked if this was anything he could’ve ever prepared for, he laughed.

My grandfather lived between Boone and West Jefferson, North Carolina. I spent lots of time in all the towns along the Blue Ridge Parkway from Boone down to Ashville growing up. To see these images of North Carolina is just crushing my spirit. My heart aches for the people affected by the devastation wrought by Hurricane Helene.

My husband and I weren’t surprised at all when we found out that building had collapsed. We stayed there a year or two ago and I couldn’t believe how unstable it was. Walked down below to see if they had at least reinforced the structure and whatever they did looked shady af. That tiny town lets the owner get away with alot. It ONLY collapsed because it was very unstable to begin with.

The integrity of that structor was already compromised, My wife and I stayed there a few years ago and I even ask what was up with the uneven floor and was told it had issues, When we ate breakfast the next morning we both had concerns on weather the whole building was going to slide down the mountain. After that we decided to stay down the road at a much safer Inn, Big Lynn.

'No way a hurricane, force, with that much force and power could do that 3,200ft on a mountain'. LOL- Is the man a new comer to mountains? Especially The Sourthern 'Blew Ridge Mountains (BRM)'. Checking the geography out on a Topographic map I see the view he is looking out over at 1.32 is a clear-way. From there, south west all the way to the the Atlantic ocean coast there is nothing but open skys and air. Air of corse being a principle composite of a hurricane. Check out American geological surveys where they think that the BRM range used to be higher than the Europian Alps. So Granite peaks towering to some 16,000ft. All now reduced by wind, rain weathering errosion to less than a third their original height many many mileniums ago. I remember some decades ago in the early eighties moving to a new home on a valley side leading up to the ridge. It was only about 400ft ASL and really looked sceanic and nothing at all to be concerned about except the walk to the shops. That was before the 120mphs winter winds came which blew day after day, night and day. I used to drive up to a viewing lay-by parking to watch the long distant views. But had to move my car from there as things felt as if the wind may pick the car up and flip it over the east side. My guess is it started me looking at the area and trying to understand why. It was then I saw that the ridge I was on was the first ridge from the west, here in England. So 20 miles west was a large open water river and opening to the sea and further west was the Atlantic Ocean. So whilst I saw land all around. The map showed a desending gradient to the coast and nothing to prevent the wind coming in from 3,000 miles west.
So in Mountains beware of ridges, cols and saddles. Some parts of them can really catch the wind.

No but my hotel has fallen down the hillside. OK, thanks for calling, I need to take calls from people who are in imminent danger. It's a terrible disaster, but he didn't actually need help at that time. Many people did and for many it came too late. At least people and government are getting in and doing what they can now. There's a lot of BS about the military not being there. People on the ground say they are there, but sometimes the equipment they have just can't get in where it's needed. I don't get why the media isn't all over this tragic situation.
We can only hope that more Americans get this information & start pushing back by posting on social media, calling their representatives, & making some noise.
I hope more people will decide to be ungovernable & help no matter who tells you not to.
I saw a video of someone who listened to "authority" & turned back when told they would be arrested. That person says they wish they could do things over & they would not listen.
The authorities turning away help if its not "sanctioned" are literally causing people to die.
The federal help isn't coming to save anyone, it seems, only to collect your bodies.
I saw an X post from a rescuer in an earlier hurricane & he explained what is going on.
The feds will only use their "preferred vendors" (for bringing in food, water, search & rescue etc), so they will reject all other supplies & rescuers, which is mind-blowingly stupid in this awful situation.

So now everybody on the mountain is a Meteorologist? hahahaha There is no way a Hurricane with that force winds could do that on the mountaintop 3.200 above sea level and cause that building to collapse? Oh my Sweet Summer child, clearly you know little about the powerful force that is a hurricane and the amount of destruction they leave behind... it doesn't matter how high or how low you are. In fact, the higher you are the closer you are to the storm.A downgraded tropical storm could take a building down that high up. Given that place was built before Mt.Rushmore was built it stands to reason as to how easy it would have been for a hurricane to bring it down. Just because it never happened before in your lifetime doesn't mean it's impossible.

By the time he had to flee from his Qureshi home as they planned to kill him, he and his once rich wife fled with so little they had to eat scraps. As turning to desert bandatory is a form of blocking trade or legitamate bussiness and so is the end of that world of legitamate business.

What a Beautiful area to live in. So tragic what happened to all these places. We are living in the time Jesus prophesied about where we would see earthquakes, etc in one place after another. Mathew chapter 24. Luke 21:28 “But as these things occur, stand up straight and lift up your heads, because your deliverance is near.” Soon the fulfillment will take place and Jehovah Gods Kingdom will over the earth & Heaven as Jesus told us to pray for in Mathew 6:9-10
