I have those Batman DVDS myself. I ordered them through Barnes and Noble Bookstore while I was there one day, and got them through the mail through UPS delivery.
I hope Adam West gets to reprise his role as Simon Trent in Gotham. Instead of a Flash Gordon-era afternoon adventure series he could be the star of a campy 1960s version of The Grey Ghost and Alfred could have watched it in his youth. And he could give Bruce some advice about being a symbol of heroism and how wearing a costume helped him to have a more profound impact than if he were an ordinary man. And maybe that everyone has their own ideas about what a hero should be, and while some will always disagree with your interpretation, what really matters is the effect you have on others. Even if your interpretation isn't the same as mine, as long as it inspires people to be better it's a valid one.
I never thought of that. I like that. Since Alfred is now training Bruce how to fight, I do believe that is a neat progression of Bruce's evolution into Batman. :) Thanks, Hezekiah! :)

My earliest memories of Batman come from the 1989 movie and re-runs of this old series, so I'm looking forward to revisiting a cherished childhood favourite through adult eyes.

At the end of "Shoot a Crooked Arrow" was a special announcement segment about Bat-vehicles, including "new" ones -- Bat-copter and Bat-boat, seen in the movie over the past summer of '66, but not yet on TV -- missing from DVD. "Marsha's Scheme of Diamonds" is missing its ENTIRE TAG SCENE (where Bruce & Dick watch 'Aunt Hilda' teaching cooking to girls). And most sweepingly, of the 46 'next villain still tags' originally seen during the first two seasons, only ELEVEN are present -- 35 are missing -- and two of those that ARE seen name the wrong villain! Missing tags include a 'special announcement' from the end of the last season-2 episode ("The Duo Defy") about the following week's repeat of the series' first episode, showing moving images from the episode, with this narrative: "Next week, a repeat of the very first Batman broadcast -- the show which gave television a big breath of fresh air. If you missed it then, don't miss it next week!" It's appropriate that the final 'next villain tag' that IS included is "for Shame"!

+John Peisithanatos Indeed, I never requested the replacement discs myself, but from what I've seen reported by those who did obtain them, they received two discs: one for the four "hours" including "Hi Diddle Riddle" where that episode now includes its opening narration, and the disc including "Marsha's Scheme of Diamonds" now including its tag scene. From all I've been able to determine, those two elements are the only missing bits restored -- none of the next-villain tags from those or any other discs (that would be tagged-on 'extras'). On more than one occasion where someone reported receiving these discs, I have asked them about the other missing material, but I've never gotten a response, so I can't be absolutely definite.

Really, it seems that on the Blu-Ray, besides less discs & a quality jump, there's not much else different on the discs. Though you do get a cool box, the hot wheels Batmobile, & a deck of vintage trading cards.

are you having audio issues with your set, it's crazy the theme song will play, when the menu, pops up, when i press play to watch it, no audio is coming through my soundbar, or through my tv speakers, smh.

It seems like you literally have to bend the disc to get them out.. horrible package design, I feel.. Please get back to me! Thanks! :)
I haven't had difficulty getting them out but getting them back in is a pain! I agree-- looked okay on the outset, but upon further examination, pretty poor package design.

It's mostly comedy, basically a parody of Batman with its own legit take on the character. It's essentially a live-action cartoon with a goofy over-the-top brawl in each episode, and certainly nothing that could be considered dark.

I got my box set today. I just love the 60s version. Now I can watch them all in order back to back. I just went for DVD instead of blu ray.
