The original version is SO much better. It's like they put the classic through a generification filter and then filled up the audio with crap. Yeah the production value is maybe higher, but it wasn't bad on the original. I would score this at a 3/10, 3 representing the dessicated corpse of the original masterpiece of eccentrically theatrical black metal (almost cheesy even) that won the hearts of anyone who listened to the original Stormblast record.
this is actually a rerecording of an older song. a lot of people prefer the original version. i just dont. (im the guy who requested it) Even though i generally prefer their earlier work and on the original theres a nice intro, i still feel like the production and keyboards add a lot here. Personally, honestly, i dont even know what some of my favorite songs are about. i often dont even look at the lyrics, so wont say much to that. Dimmu Borgir uses this kinda Wall of Sound often and while it sometimes feels overbearing, i really like how it builds into the song here. It also doesnt drag it out for too long, i feel like a minute longer and the song wouldve felt too long for how intense it is.
love both the old and the new version...beside he is singing in Norwegian ;D
The original version is better, but nice reaction!
From their early days!
Nearly a quarter century ago.
LOVE old Dimmu.
When it's got to be bad ass, it's gotta be Dimmu Borgir!
Dimmu Borgir 🤘🤘🤘
Wrong version, the original Stormblåst album is the one the counts.
