    I've had this tent 8 person for years...BY FAR the best tent I've ever owned. Rain, 40-50mph winds, snow...Doesn't matter this tent is phenomenal

    Grew up with this tent, lasted 25 years!! Now my husband and I have a new one and will never own anything different. It's been through almost every kind of weather and never left us wet or cold!

      Precision Angling thanks man, funny you said that I had the 10x14 outfitter in my shopping cart when it was removed and sold out now discontinued lol I’m forced to get the 12x16 kinda large

    Would have been great if you had gone through the instructions at the end and corrected what you did wrong in the set up. Is a fantastic tent! Camp safely, my Friends!

    What’s the difference between the instinct and the alaskan guide? Is the Instinct worth the extra money? Appreciate any responses.

    • @paparomesoutdoors711

      I’d be lying if I said I knew the exact answer, but I have looked into the Instinct which I do not have and a few features that the instinct have that this guide does not are the instinct is a Hot tent, I believe heavier duty for more snow load also, it’s a different shape long house style vs octagon shape, instinct seems to have less poles for set up depending on which size you get. This guide tent withstood extremely heavy rain and wind loads for us in the video below. Also it has ample room for gear storage and can always run a heater unit in it. Hope that helps in any way. Thanks for watching

    Papa Rome’s, a great video that doesn’t involve eating wild game or fish. 😂. That is a really nice tent, at the amount of tents you own, you could of put it together blindfolded and one hand tied behind your back. Great review brother.

    My buddy has this tent in Alberta Canada and just went through a 120 kph wind storm and the tent was awesome, his term was its "Bomb proof".

    What are you guys using for a tent footprint? I haven't found one made specifically for this.

    • @paparomesoutdoors711
      @paparomesoutdoors711  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Tarp

    • @ancientplayground
      @ancientplayground ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I just used a heavy duty tarp and cut it to the of tent floor. I made the footprint just a bit larger.

    • @ejstauffer
      @ejstauffer ปีที่แล้ว

      I ended up doing the same. The tarp is useful for many things, as the custom footprint wouldn't be as versatile when not camping.

    Got my 8 man last year. Got hit with a bad wind storm at Lake Mcconaughy first time out, tent did not budge.. Bomb shelter it’s a great tent 🏕

    Need to add a heavier floor pan and a heavy zipper like the door has, for the vestibule. First night out for a test run, used a heavy tarp for foot print and the floor saver and floor still got a hole. Light duty vestibule zipper consistently snags when closing from inside at 3am after going out for relief, 30 minutes to repair.
    Sleeps nice, quietest large Nylon tent I have had, but again don't recommend for desert camping, floor to thin, compared to other $500 tents.

    BTW, the stakes (ARE NOT) heavy duty in any sense of the word. Immediately purchase REAL heavy duty stakes separately.
