    Great stuff, clear-concise- and easy to understand because you explain the proceedure calmly and without nonsense. Thankyou.

    After watching this video I struggled for 5 minutes to get a reading on my multimeter. Turns out I forgot to flip the standby switch. Suffice to say your instructions were extremely helpful (more so if I'd followed them on time!)

    Hello, I have tested and I am getting a 5mv to 15mv max when changing the variable bias resistor. Any advise there?
    The plate voltages are around 390V on both tube 6L6's.
    My main issue with this Blues Deluxe Reissue is hum and break up noise on certain notes. 1st work I will do is change the Filter Caps.
    Any help would be appreciated!
    Thanks for the clear video. Thumbs up!

    Next time, slightly loosen the screws on the sides of the cabinet; they compress the wood of the back cover. That way you don't risk breaking the back cover at the thin bits next to the cutouts...

    Bias at 72mv sound best and keep the output transformer runing colder,with better heat disipation for my experience

Merci. 🙏

    Just curious, dielectric grease, not recommended?

    Great demo. What is the name of that tool you used?

    Thanks for this - from what you saw when changing the tubes, in terms of access do you think it is possible to change the speaker by only removing the back cover? Advice would be much appreciated.

    This is a great video.
    Crystal clear instructions and direction.
    Quick question,
    I still didn't feel comfortable using the test point so I decided to use a socket probe on one of the power tubes and adjusted to a reading of 30mA.
    Not sure if this is the same idea but the amp seems and sounds OK.

    i'm curious did what did the amp sound like after the tube change? Did it fix the noise issue?

    • @TechStuff1
      @TechStuff1  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, changing the tubes immediately cleaned up the noise.

    El bias está muy alto, y no uso las operaciones matemáticas para que el tubo quede exacto, ahí quedó frío.

    Wow that was surely noisy. I have a Blues Deluxe from ‘93 and it gets regular use and it’s never been that noisy. It just doesn’t sound so good tone wise after awhile so I need to replace the tubes every 2 years or so. Matched tube pairs for certain and look around for decent stock. Some of this stuff looks a bit different in the back of the reissue but mostly the same. Do you have any experience with the 90’s models? This was an informative video, thanks.

    Great video ! Thank you. Can I ask you some questions? I have matsushita 17ew8 tubes. Can I use 17ew8 to guitar amps or guitar effector?

      Sorry, I don’t know the answer to that. You may need to look to an amp technician for that information.

    Thanks very instructive ! How often do you change the tubes ?

    • @TechStuff1
      @TechStuff1  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This is the first time I’ve changed them in this amp. Tube age isn’t the best indicator of an issue, so it was mostly a matter of sound quality than a matter of time.

    How did you determine the bias specs?

    • @TechStuff1
      @TechStuff1  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I looked up a service manual online and it said these were the specs.

    Tapping the tubes is ok but when the amplifier has a great signal from the guitar it is hrrr. no matter with or without preamp

    Please dont use the cordless drill/screwdriver for mounting the screws. You risk ripping the threads. Dont do it!
