I love these videos where you revisit older games that you have a passion for. I have played both of these games and enjoyed them. I actually owned Viceroy and then sold it. And now I’m thinking…maybe I should get it back in my collection again. I think part of the reason I let the game go was because I played with two people who were familiar with the game and got absolutely crushed. But I can see it’s a very good game. I found Troyes to be very good, but I only played it once; maybe a few more plays might warm me to it. (I don’t have a copy) Over the last few years I have been tracking down and bagging several older games from recommendations by yourselves and others; My golden oldies I now own and love include; QIN - Reiner Knizia’s amazingly simple, fast tile laying game. PERGAMON- very clever mechanics on a theme of archaeological digging and curating items for a museum. SAINT PETERSBURG- I got the older version with the quirky/ naive / folk art which I love. TORRES- fascinating Kramer & Keisling castle building game I look forward to watching more of your golden oldies from The Bones Collector Studio.
I've always wanted to try Troyes; My wife and I love Ginkgopolis and have been curious about the designer's other games. Haven't played Viceroy, but I'll keep an eye out for it for sure. Thanks for sharing!
You can probably pick Viceroy up very cheaply and it is such an awesome game. We love Ginkgopolis, it is such a fun game. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Great video! I just recently added Troyes to my collection and am very interested in playing it. I've had Tournay, which is the all card implementation and enjoyed it quite a bit. I just posted in a couple of Facebook boards getting Viceroy back to the table again after not playing it for a couple years. I totally agree with everything you said. It's a fantastic puzzle game with probably the tightest economy I've ever played. I was lucky to get a hold of someone's Limited Ed. Kickstarter which came with all the upgrades, promos and expansion. It even came with an 8 sided die that has two of each gem as the pips. Nothing in either rule book mentions it, so I am not exactly sure why it's there. I have been using it for solo and two player games as a way of tightening up the bidding phase by rolling it prior to bid reveal to reduce availability. Definitely one I will never part with as well.
I’m sure you will enjoy Troyes as it’s an amazing game. My wife actually saw that post on Facebook and showed it to me!! No idea what that die is for, but it sounds like you are putting it to good use. What a cool add-on to have regardless of its purpose! Thanks for watching and commenting.
Thank you for doing these videos. Got Viceroy on your recommendation. And yes we shall keep on boardgaming 🎉. Also added was prodigal's club Have you tried that one. Great modular boards and quick plays in an hour or less. Great decision space.
We have played Last Will, but not Prodigals Club. Maybe we can give that one a try at a convention sometime. Hope you Viceroy as much as we do. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Troyes and Viceroy are both great games that deserve the spotlight. Thanks for the video!
Sometimes we like to talk about games that are older but still lovely (kind of like us!). Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Troyes has been my favorite game for a decade. Love it! Great channel!!

Have you tried the Ladies of Troyes expansion? It’s soooo good!
Yes, we’ve tried and it is really good, we just don’t own it. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Hey Richard! We have played and love ALL of those games. Some of the older games can be acquired quite cheaply too. New isn’t always better!!
