    The main problem with the background music is that it straddles that line between just loud enough to hear it and just faint enough to think it's random music from a neighbor bleeding through the walls, thus making it more annoying than ambient. The only place it kind of worked was during the space x story because it was loud enough to hear and kind of had epic, space-y vibes, but even then it felt like maybe it was a subtle way of telling me how to interpret the story rather than being unbiased background music.

      His coverage of the story wasn't great. It feels forced just because Sabrina is in the thumbnail.
      The VALID question everyone is asking.. from Taylor Swift to Lady Gaga to Megan Thee Stallion to Jlo to Madonna to Nicki Minaj---- WHEN does a pop performance become so explicit that we age gate it?
      Gaga and Megan Thee Stallion have done CRAZY shit on stage. We age gate stripping to protect kids and teenagers.
      We are simply finding out the old rules aren't adapting well to the new needs of us. When myself and Phil were kids, Girls Gone Wild commericals ran on comedy central at night.
      Kids are constantly being force fed explicit content and now we have 11 year old beauty influencers.
      Carpenter was a missed chance for Phil to talk about how Millenials and Gen Z have to parent to let their kids live but not become little vessels for content that is getting more and more extreme. It's a real issue and we want to give young people a chance to enjoy stuff with the training wheels on.
      Sabrina is too explicit for teenagers, yet a lot of people listening to this music infront of SMALLER kids too.

    • @pixie_dust1985
      @pixie_dust1985 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Britney was also being abused, we know that now.
      All the older women who were scared for her being hyper sexualized, they were right.
      all of the "pre teen" market is disappearing. It's too explicit. pre teens and teenagers need to live, too.

    • @Zzz2x
      @Zzz2x หลายเดือนก่อน

      And unfortunately Britney was like 16-21. Sabrina is 25-26. She can do that stuff. The problem is parents allowing their kids to listen to what’s popular for adults, and then attend their concerts

    • @Zzz2x
      @Zzz2x หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@pixie_dust1985if I was a performer I’d only do concerts for 21+. These performers allow child audiences, and often even promote or even make their music for the kids and teens on tik tok. Bc they’re a huge base of people with their parents money. Any artist with explicit lyrics should automatically be 18+. These artists think it’s not their responsibility, which is gross to me. How can you be sexual on stage knowing there’s kids there? Ofc you didn’t put them there, but you can make your concerts 18+. They just know they have a lot of kid/teen fans and don’t wanna exclude them. That part is weird to me. I also wouldn’t feel safe as a performer having kids around adults that like my sexual music, a lot of kids have been trafficked or assaulted at concerts like these!!

    My best friend worked for FEMA for many years. She was deployed to hurricane recovery zones several times. For months, she would be away from home, away from loved ones, away from community, normalcy, and everything, all while living in disaster zones and doing very difficult work. Unsurprisingly, her mental health suffered, and I know one time in particular she had a pretty serious bout of depression. Yet she almost always volunteered for deployment when she could, because as hard as it was, she knew it was how she could do the most good.
    I cannot imagine making all those sacrifices, only to be met with threats and violence, and with people intentionally making your already difficult work that much harder. My blood absolutely boils for the FEMA employees, as well as for those who are unable to receive the relief they need because of these horrible lies.
    Occasionally, my friend and her colleagues would be told not to wear there vests due to some minor unrest, but this is next level.

Anyone can stitch up a theory; as long as your credentials are fancy enough and it sounds plausible, it gets used to convict people, no peer studies needed. Bite marks, shaken baby, partial shoe prints, certain ballistics, 3 baby deaths means crime, pour patterns and other early arson theories.. junk science. As long as there is a human bias in the process, results may vary. Drastically.
      I find calling it science offensive and misleading, when theres no comprehensive studies, just opinions based on unchallenged theories. And this is well known by now, but the justice system fights any and all changes, naturally. The actual truth might encumber future convictions, or exonerate the innocent already locked up.. Not all forensics are like that, DNA is quite solid by now and has freed many wrongly convicted peeps, but too much of it isn’t studied (enough or at all) and still in use. Terrifying!

      @necromanticer169 they kind of do. The Supreme Court has ruled even most of the jury being drunk/high doesn't meet the bar for retrying.
      The other problem with your stance is the judge decides what the jury hears. Even if you truly respect the courts, you'd be a fool to seriously think its possible for bias to not be introduced that way, especially under our current system. If the judge tells the jury to consider certain evidence, they consider it. Righting that later when it's found out it shouldn't have been considered the way it was is the courts job. Unfortunately they don't actually care about doing the right thing. They do everything in their power to protect the process over individuals who happened to get fucked.

      Let me give you a mind blowing history lesson.
      We aren't BECOMING Nazi Germany. We were there first. Hitler time and time again stated that his vision for Europe was the same as the American vision for their continent. Hitler was inspired by America at every turn. His idea of Lebensraum, or living space was directly inspired by American Manifest Destiny. The concentration camps were directly inspired by our treatment of Mexicans at the border at the time. Nazi Germany was Hitler's attempt to do what America has done but in Germany, to the rest of Europe. He wanted to commit genocide on other Europeans, colonize their lands and create a country that spanned from Sea to shining Sea.
      While Fascism was coined by Giovanni Gentile and Benito Mussolini, the ideas that made it up had already existed and were in practice across the Atlantic. Of course there are variations, America fakes it's democracy while Germany at least only faked it for a little while but, welcome to modern Fascism. Currently this country is supporting and funding a genocide no matter which party is in power.

    I 100% agree that parents need to regulate what their kids watch instead of trying to censor media that CLEARLY isn't for kids. Perfect example I had a 13 year-old and his mom come into my shop this weekend. He was talking about the new Deadpool movie. His mom told him that he needs to wait till hes older to watch it and I said to him "Look it's a great movie but I gotta side with your mom it's way to mature for you. When you're older you'll love it but right now you're just not the right age." She didn't talk trash about it or say it should be kids friendly she just told him later.
    There's nothing wrong with that and if you have issues with that you shouldn't have kids.

    • @MrSlowestD16
      @MrSlowestD16 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's both. Parents do a shit job at regulating social media, but also it's impossible. How do you control it as a parent? Kids can (and do) get a burner phone from friends and shit that the parent never sees. Censorship has never worked on a large scale in history, it's not going to start working now. To quote a famous mathematician: "Teens...uhhh..find a way..." They spend like 8 years lookin for loopholes in everything, this isn't an exception.
      All of the media is CLEARLY for kids. The whole website is made for kids. Without kids the website would be bust. Even the dirty stuff is for kids.

    Why do the highest courts and law officials in our country insist on executing people when there is reasonable doubt about their guilt? It's got to be a power thing, a perverted sense that the system must be protected and that it "works." When in reality, the insistence on executing people many believe to be innocent is eroding faith in the system, not emboldening it.

      The problem is not the courts it is the laws themselves. The courts cannot legally overturn a jury’s verdict on reasonable doubt alone. And sadly there is no exception for death row prisoners which is completely stupid. The whole appeal process is based on the belief that the jury was correct in less proven otherwise. So the appeals court is not allowed to decide if a crime was committed only if the jury had the legal standing to make the decision that they did and that the defendant rights were not violated in the process.

      Its not just that, they care more about maintaining the system than any 1 individual. Basically they think going back on previous rulings opens the floodgates for similar cases.
      The Supreme Court even made a ruling a few decades ago, in a case where a significant portion of the jury was drunk. They decided it wasn't enough to throw out the conviction and retry. It makes more sense when you consider they don't want to open the door to accusations about the jury and have it allow bad actors to skirt the rules. It still sucks and is shitty to do, but they've been fairly consistent on it.

      @@princesssofiyagm You;re correct that that is one of the problems, but I'm referring to DAs and governors that do not vie for or give out pardons. And in this same story Phil cited multiple cases where this kind of verdict was overturned, so it's possible to do in our current system.

    The amount of straw-man arguments being thrown around in the Israel/Palestine debate is staggering to me. Like, yes, I've heard a few "pro-Hamas" arguments, but the large majority of "pro-Palestine" sentiment that I've seen is just people just saying they don't support the senseless killing of Palestinian civilians. The fact that so many people are propping that up as pro-hamas rhetoric or straight-up antisemitism is wild. You can simultaneously disagree with someone's religion AND not want them to be killed. I think the fact that there are hardly any roofs for people to be thrown off of in Gaza anymore punctuates this point.

      All of this. It's just flat out racism. But now they can justify Islamophobia by saying that _entire populations_ are terrorists. "The Israeli government isn't killing Muslims/Palestinians, they are killing _terrorists._ Scrambling eggs metaphor."
      And I'm a pretty hardcore anti-theist. I deeply dislike religions of all sorts. But regardless of religion I don't want to see any population of innocent civilians violenced into non-existence. And somehow _that's_ the anti-Semitic, pro-terror position.

    • @Archone666
      @Archone666 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The problem with that is that you've been willfully blind if you haven't seen a MASSIVE load of sentiments involving... let's see...
      "The October 7th attack didn't happen. All those videos and pictures uploaded by the terrorists themselves don't count. Also, there was no sexual assault."
      "The October 7th attack was a false flag operation by the Israeli government, who also finances Hamas."
      "The October 7th attack was justified, because Zionist oppressors."
      "Israel murders women and kids. And gets away with it because they control the world's banks, media, and governments. And even though that's literally a carbon copy of the claims made in "Protocols of Elders of Zion," we still know in our hearts that it's 100% true."
      And those are just a few examples of how the situation is: Hamas laughingly sent their people into Israel to murder men and children, and to rape the women next to their children/siblings/fathers before killing them as well. AND bragged about it. And then came back with hostages, to add to their other human shields (i.e. the Palestinian people). And have actively done as much as possible to maximize the civilian casualties, knowing fully well that the rest of the world will always put the blame on Israel...
      And much of that is because you are on the same side as people who are grinning giddily at the opportunity to call for the genocide of Jews, while calling the Jews... Nazis. Like villains from a One Piece story arc.
