The term 'Pound for pound" best fighter means their skill regardless of their weight class. As obviously if the GOAT heavy weight fought and the GOAT bantam weight fought... its a forgone conclusion. The term Pound for pound is supposed to be used to compare skill and strength removed from weight class. Going up in weight CAN be an indicator of great skill... but if you go up in weight to a "weaker fighter" weight class or perhaps a fighter naturally rests at that weight better and therefore actually does better..... It isn't an indicator of skill If your definition of "pound for pound" requires you to look through a lens of "going up in weight" You are factually wrong.
