What really impressed me is how a song with 3 million notes didn't lag even once. Also the fact you completed this in one day. It took me a whole week to just make a two minute black MIDI that had over 100,000 notes.
Can you give me some tips on how to make them faster? Is there a way that doesn't involve placing all of the notes one by one? I had the main melody of the song done within a couple hours but the note stacking and MIDI art ended up becoming so tedious that it took an hour or more at times just to complete one measure, which led to a week of placing 32nd and 64th notes. I use Synthfont for reference.

Sir Spork, I'm glad to have found your upload after deliberately looking for it because you are the original creator of this black MIDI work. I absolutely love what you've done with Grieg's "In the Hall of the Mountain King". I love listening to classical music and have heard it played by different orchestras, but after hearing your Black MIDI version... (I'm taking a deep breath here...) I confess that I like your version the best! It sounds even more spine-chilling than when it's played by an orchestra. The sound of this MIDI in some places is nothing an orchestra would be able to reproduce, and those... I want to say "metallic" / "electronic" sounding parts are the most scary. I haven't described it well but I hope you understand what I'm trying to say. Absolutely perfect for Halloween and it definitely is Special. Your work also inspired me to find out what a "black MIDI" is. On a related note, I also accidentally learned the mathematical equation explaining why it's impossible to perfectly tune a piano (a now-treasured piece of trivia I want to remember forever). So, thank you for sharing your inspirational work, Sir Spork!

It's especially funny because Grieg didn't like his work due to him finding it to be too pompous/bombastic and boasting, then you took it to a whole new level, really driving the irony in. The ridiculousness of how over the top it was made me laugh in joy at the section starting around 4:12 . Thanks for taking your time to put this together and sharing it!
