Thank you for this! I am a Windows user and my boss asked me to package a gstreamer plugin project for Linux. I couldn't package it cross-platform on Windows so had to get my hands dirty with Linux and I must say, Linux has A LONG WAY TO GO before it is anywhere as user-friendly as Windows especially in terms of Unreal.
yeah its pretty long way to go for software. its pretty decent for gaming in most part. windows are getting worse with privacy and bloat.

Starting the new year out right, I finally have my dialogue plugin and others working thanks to your video. Jeez, shouldn't be that confusing lol. I tried putting them in the engine plugins and project plugins folder in the past, but only the copy I had. I didn't even think to download a fresh copy from the Epic Asset Manager... doiy! I'm so freaking happy right now, subbed and even put the bell on :) Happy new year, dude!

After installing a Linux distribution a few times, I had problems with the unreal engine installation. This video was very helpful and guiding. Thank you very much. Hello and thanks for the vid tut....it seems it doesnt let me install the engine im using fedora 39....issue is eula not signed or something.
Video seems to be working but yeah just the EULA idk why, when I click the link next to it, it brings me to the EULA page then quickly redirects, any idea?
update: when entering pasting the link, I get an error stating that the code is invalid.
Thank for the video! How can i insta Quixel bridge, because the one i downloaded and installed from software manager won't open?
I will make a follow up video on how to use quixel bridge. I can't seem to get the app itself working in Linux, nor can I get the integration within unreal itself working. The process I use is logging into quixel in a browser using my epic account and downloading each texture or model I need one by one. Then, I just import them into the editor. Sadly, I can't seem to get texture layer blending working because of the megascans app not working.
@@chrisl4713 that sucks, but anyways ill wait for your video, i also have a problem with making desktop shortcut for unreal engine, when i double click shortcut, Unreal editor crashes.
Any clue why is not showing up any UE version to install under the official tab? I have followed the same steps and I am already registered with epic and also connected my github accout with my epic one and have access to their releases github page. Thank you for the video!

Can you help me with a codec issue? My intro videos work in windows but not in linux. Basicly the ue logo intro movie plays in a build game for windows but not in linux.
I haven't tried using an intro video for a packaged build yet, but I'll see what I can do. What format are you using for the video?

It's not working for me it's not allowing me too install unreal engine it's not even showing me the versions too install
I have this problem too. It is the same for me. warning "eula accepted please sing the EULA to continue". how to fix it?
I haven't run into that issue myself yet, but I'll look into it. Does this happen right after you install the software? As for the engine refusing to install, have you signed into github and linked your authentication key to the application?

It was same issue for me.....Linking github through access token solved it
