That’s one unique and cool knife! I had never seen anything like it before. Congratulations on adding it to your collection. Thanks for sharing it with us. 👍❤️🔪👊
Very cool knife, Jim! And thanks for the history. I wouldn’t beat yourself up too much. The seller can hardly blame you for your lack of knowledge. It’s his job to know what he is selling. Your job is to be fair, and you were based on what you knew. Have a great day!
What an excellent find!! I sent you some info i was able to find in one of my books, hope it helps. Not a lot but a lil on the dating of it! Thanks for sharing!!
Lawdy friend that is fine and unique piece! 2017 I was forced due to financial difficulties to sale my Cat collection. Got me through but gosh it hurt! That is definitely a safe queen!
That is a beautiful piece to have in your collection. I purchased one just like it at a flea market this summer but mine is missing the main blade. The snap on the can opener is good. The wrench opens and closes. Yours is the only other one I have seen.
@huntingfishingpraying it was the Thresherman's Reunion in Pontiac, Illinois. I dug through a pile of old knives and asked him what he wanted for them. Even with the main blade missing I couldn't get my money out fast enough when he told me $15. It is unfortunate that I don't have the main blade but the bone is complete on both sides and does not appear to have any chips or cracks. It has been heavily used and full of patina. It is a neat tool.
Very interesting, Jim. Thanks for doing the research and sharing that. I’m going to keep my eye out for these.
