I had to re-watch the first 5 min or so because I was trying to figure out if there was some sort of optical trickery or if he really can write that well backwards! I'm impressed!
Glad we got that straight. I was freakin out! However, we're all in trouble if he computes a curl, as the handedness of the cartesian axes has also been flipped!
I think the trick is the presenter is writing on the glass and there is a mirror behind the glass and they are filming from the mirror. sequence is presenter-glass-camera-mirror

you are a legend. I remember learning basic numerical analysis from your videos. So I was looking for an introduction to POD's and the first thing that came to my mind when I saw that you have a video on it was "yep, sorted, I will understand this one"

notice what hand his ring is on
-The picture is flipped

Wouldn't the camera be visible in the mirror then? I'm more convinced by the flipped picture explanation.

Wow man this is treasure! Not much application mathematicians on TH-cam nowadays. Love this lecture
I agree. These are great for refreshing what I learned in college
Thank you for very simple and concrete expressions which makes the subject easy to understand.
Best tutorial on youtube for POD and ROM!
Is the Burgers equation wrong? Maybe the diffusion term should be on the RHS?
Thank you for your video series on this topic!
Greetings from Dresden/Germany!
The first and second derivatives at 11:36 are supposed to be approximate but not equal to the schemes you came up with.
Very helpful
