Hey y’all. I had the Sunday album on CD. And there was a bonus with AM 180 live at Glastonbury on it... at the end he explains a brief history behind the song. I know what he was talking about. I been there. Anyone know where I can find that version? Been searching every GRANDADDY live for the track where he gives that brief insight... the CD I had disappeared a long time ago. Anyone able to tell me or link me to that live track where he gives a brief back-story to this beautiful song, please? At the end he says something like, “so the boy grew up and dream time was over...” Anyone, please?
Super lol at the "COME ON! WAKE THE FUCK UP! Nah, go back to bed." line because I've always used AM 180 as my morning alarm and that's exactly how I feel.
The Broken Down Comforter Collection is one of my fave grandaddy cds.best listened to on the floor sprawled among your broken posessions and torn up photographs of all the women you'll never see again, drunk on wild turkey and mellowed by a damn good reef.
"We playStrokes covers?...wake the fuck up!"..... LOLOLOL.... Most of the music industry in America/the World needs to "Wake the Fuck UP!!!" Thanks for the great Music G.D.
it's nice to see a band that plays live just as good... if not better than the album version.... sad to see them disband... oh well... thanks 4 the gr8 songs!
i heard another grandaddy song on yet another car commercial, this time it was a dodge car on the channel FX! :) i got happy. i effing love grandaddy since forever!!!! :]
hahahaha we play strokes covers.... hint: The strokes sound like them because grandaddy has been around way longer then the strokes. But i love the strokes so no ripping on them.
god they were so good i also heard about them from 28 days later, i cnt remember the sequence the song plays in the movie, but yeah they made such great music
I first saw these guys on Later . . . with Jools Holland when I DVR'd an episode ('cause I have no life). Right after that I searched TH-cam for a video. Needless to say, they're pretty good for an indie-band. And this is a pretty solid performance.
@quicksaund He's not trying to be Jimmy Hendrix. It just wouldn't sound right if he started playing some kind of crazy solo. He did what fit with the song. So, I guess, fwoosh!.
Well, they were on there twice. Which one did you record? The one where they performed Now It's On? That one was my first. (As if we're discussing . . . crocheting competitions or "first times" (like there's a difference).)
Grandaddy is so underrated
Ben R truth
@Borf Slyrptus *is
100%
i will never understand how Grandaddy never got popular... a lot of catchy songs... i would die to see them live... reunion!!!!
Pop media likes pretty boys
"C'mon wake the fuck up!" Haha I love this guy.
La Cueva Jason is on fire with his crowd interaction :)
Love this song and it was perfect in 28 days later (Where I first heard it)
In the grocery store scene :)
It's still my everyday alarm. It wakes me up immediately and it's a pretty nice start to my day.
My phone ringtone lol
Is it still your alarm?
Is it still your alarm we need answers
Is it still your alarm?
Answer the question!
We play...
...Strokes covers.
(awkward silence)
Followed by, "C'mon wake the fuck up!"
@@declanbrown5056 "no, go back to 🛌"

HamSandwich09 SAME. Been my alarm for a month now.
One of my favorite bands. Have most their albums. Love the creativity in their music.
That drummer is awesome.
I like this song but it has to go on the sad music playlist..
Blu Halo there’s nothing wrong with that
what do you mean? this song wakes me up in the morning. positive drudgery.
Sad and happy for me. Will always be that way.
"Under the western freeway" is a great album! This is my favourite track from it

Most of the music industry in America/the World needs to "Wake the Fuck UP!!!"
Thanks for the great Music G.D.
Just seen them play to a packed crowd in Manchester HMV Ritz, it was one of the best gigs i've ever seen. Amazing!!!!
I will never be grateful enough to BBC Radio 6 for introducing me to this masterpiece.
I actually saw the movie, and later discovered Grandaddy, and then realized this song was in that movie : ) It was glorious.
i love this song...it really makes me kinda sad but i like it...
Definitely has a joyful sorrow….16 years later
it's amazing how they fit a song like that into a zombie film :L
have to say i am loving up this song atm - shame i cant get ahold of it over here in the uk very easily
how's life going mate?
I just bougth a Cd from Grandaddy that was recorded back in 1996 and this song is in it. Im starting to get the feel of it... He has come a long way

The best band I've seen live!
i love this song in 28 day later.

Wow im glad you said this. When i heard it recently i was thinking damn i feel like ive heard this when i was young but couldn't place it.
That keyboard is hypnotizing.
hahahaha we play strokes covers....
hint:
The strokes sound like them because grandaddy has been around way longer then the strokes. But i love the strokes so no ripping on them.
great song for a really good film as well!
THis song rawks with happy soothing and overcoming energy, and went perfectlly with the Awesome movie 28 days Later, it that was a horror flick.
and a even better choice for the title music for charlie brooker's screenwipe
god they were so good
i also heard about them from 28 days later, i cnt remember the sequence the song plays in the movie, but yeah they made such great music
why am i so late to the party
Better late than never!
i’m even later 😔 this fire doe
Saw Jason perform this two days ago with Midlake - (hence why I searched for it).... Brilliant quality vid too....
great song, but i have to admit i'd never herd of them. but will listen to more now.
hats and beards
I saw Jason sing it with Midlake in Dublin last night. Superb concert. I could never get the Strokes thing, now I know why.
I only just found this band but it makes me really sad to know I will never see them live D: thankfully youtube gives me the next best thing :D
I love it. "Here, cuz your just doing nothing... nothing" I assume he is literally speaking to the crowd at that moment.
Cool tune, the singer always reminds me of the singer of dEUS, anyone else?
I first saw these guys on Later . . . with Jools Holland when I DVR'd an episode ('cause I have no life). Right after that I searched TH-cam for a video. Needless to say, they're pretty good for an indie-band. And this is a pretty solid performance.
awesome song great choice for 28 days later
gotta love the drummer
just as amazing live,
then on the cd. :)
these guys are great
what a trippy music...i like it.
They just played in Paris...fingers crossed for more. They're so fucking awesome.
best song ever!!!
grandaddy are so awesome, its a crime they never "made it big" properly
"Wake the fuck up" brilliant, you tell em Jason!
Edd, Tom, Matt, and Tord are in the audience banging their heads to this.
if aliens could only judge the human race based on youtube comments we would all be doomed
It was uploaded 6 years ago. That was like, before music even existed. Duh.
Almost 14 years now.. Time flies
One day, 100 years from now, we’ll all be dead. These comments will be all thats left and grandaddy will still be playing on some screen on a loop
My favourite song for all times.
nobody's laughing about his joke ...
strange crowd
just discovered this band , man they good , i,m gonna go see them next time they in uk
favorite song ever kind of lol
...we do .. strokes covers

I wish I could see them live!
I think this guy is my new hero.
Coolest fucking drummer ever.
Great Music...
I want the plastic cat.
did he say that they cover strokes songs???
the strokes ROCK!!!!
and this song is so sick
lol the drummer with his joint, how fuckin sick is he!
I agree Lemonhead. Seen them live in Glasgow... f*ckin great band
"whatever tooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo...gether"
kick ass band its sad that they broke up
I'm pretty sure they weren't mocking The Strokes, but the sound effect kinda resembles 12:51.
indie bands are the awesomeness, this crowd sucks because they expected some well known band to come out and do something fancy.
lol wake the fuck up! I love this song, I heard it in 28 days later.
Going under the bridge ^_^ zombie infestation! I like cream de menthe!
seriously, it would be great to see these guys perform.
i'd kill to see them, too bad they're broken up!
that whole soundtrack was sick
I found it great to live aaaaaaaaaaaaaa coolest song and more as part of their guitars which will be the group? not his song but these great
Granndaddy is back together! As of march 2012
in the taxi from shoppin thro the felds of flowers
the silversun pickups have the same chill tone
Tremendous! You can't tell if it's a sliff, probably isn't. Crowd is listening, it's not the scissor sistors!
Great that it's back up again ;)
love ya dude.
Rock on guys. Jed would be proud.
