Talent, top sound engineers, mixers, top analog synths, pianos (moto: do the best product, not the cheapest, it was all made in U.S.A, Japan, Germany etc.), there was so much more money in music not in tits and asses like nowdays. People knew what is quality, and demanded it. If you pay for something it better be good. The list goes on and on ...
I was 8 years old when this song came out. It immediately captured me. At 43, I started humming it out of the blue. I'm so happy I found it again today.
@@kpmonday7952 Some people think that using the word "underrated" is somehow better than just saying "I liked it" but it sounds moronic, particularly since, as you say, this song was quite popular.
This is the best pop song ever written. Mellow, heartfelt, well played and recorded..it's simply this perfect pop gem, shimmering, glimmering and blue.
Chuck i like your comment , this guy is the most handsome fello , his voice is like pure velvet i have always adored this classic and him , its beyond compare xx Jane xx🎇🎇🎇🎆
One off my favorites, makes me cry every-time I hear it. It’s like a beautiful painting, snow flakes falling from the sky or a rainbow coming out after a rainy day. ❤️
I can't believe how underrated this song is, My mate who's in his 50's and big time into his music had never heard this song, now he tells me he listens to it every time he needs to relax and remember the good times
My closest friend Roy died in San Francisco in 86,we had a great service for him a chartered yacht on the bay as we approached Angel Island to spread his ashes we played this his favorite piece of music
I'll never forget that song. I was on the beach where I lived on Cape Cod. Twenty-five yrs young. Every time I hear it I see myself 35 yrs ago back there. Great song.
Daniel I totally agree. In the car windows down in summer late evening.. sunset all pink..and loud on a good sound system. Loving the drive, the feeling and sound 🤘👌
This type of music made the 80s music so great.....hauntingly beautiful.....but 70s DJs hated 80s music.....lokk what we have now.....pure crap.... diva crap and rap& hiphop....pathetic
Well said. I start my day with this song every workday so to bring me back to this era of calm and soft energy. Its nostalgia for sure and feels good somehow. My ritual won't stop. It keeps me sane.
Okay after reading all of these people saying they tear up listening to this, now I'm doing it too. Because it's so beautiful and deep and goes right in and pushes buttons. Only music can do this, and we must have had more variety of it in the 80's than anyone. We are blessed that way.
We are living in a caotic world full of hate and control....I listen to this song to remember an era of beauty and dreams Thanks, Kurt Maloo from the bottom of my heart I go into my cocoon with this song.
Haven't heard this in years, what a gorgeous song! The 80s was such a great decade for music. I listen to 80s stuff on a daily basis, when music was music and lyrics actually meant something. Simpler times somehow
Well you know..... I have to agree with you...... I've always loved this song.!!!..... Ever since the first time I heard it. as it came across the airwaves .. back in 86........... And the lyrics in this song are so captivating...... Picturing myself on a beautiful white sandy beach!!!!. The only thing better than listening to this song .over and over again is.....siitting down at my piano and playing along with it!!... And let's not forget singing along with those great lyrics!!! what a treat to be able to grace my hands across those black and white keys to the song of my dreams!!......
Dear lord why is 80s music so damn good, it's mind boggling how good these songs are. This song instantly captivates your heart and soul with every note. Truly amazing, pure perfection
Lin Y Because people had talent and could actually sing then, today it’s all about money. There is no talent anymore just reality TV shows punching out bad auto tuned garbage.
Because you had all those 70s greats (and many 60s greats) to entertain you in the 80s with the best music in History! But Yes, it is sadly over. We can only look forward to reruns in music and film. Oh it may have a different name but it is just a rehash of the greats.

Hey Kurt when my lady comes walking into my life ,this song is playing in my head. Maybe someday soon. I lost my true love to breast cancer. Pray I find me a new love. Love is so hard to find these days
I was an American kid from the Midwest leaving for school in the UK in 1986. I was listening to this the night before I left…laying in bed and so nervous. This song took some of that anxiety away. Hearing it transports me back to that night.
Anos 80 ahaaaaa!!!
It was in rotation at our local radio station of "soft rock and today's hits" ..I turned 15 in '85 .. spent many hours listening to the radio in my room 💙
This is what I call a perfect pop song plenty of originality , flying spirit, atmosphere , harmonic knowledge and most of all: "bon gout". A paradigm of the 80´s. Congratulations Mr. Maloo.-
Que nostalgia quando escuto esta musica e me teletransporta para um tempo bem melhor que este atual em que vivemos! ! E venha quem vier mas atingir este patamar de qualidade e refinamento é quase impossível nos nossos dias! We can listen over and over again and never get tired of it,,..that's when we know this is a timeless masterpiece!

Everything, at the end!!!...yes i totally agree whith you!
Top piano.
What makes it so brilliant is the fact it`s so simple!!
One of those songs that just makes me want to shed a tear and smile at the same time...
what a great song. perfect for driving at night long distance and to just let go of all your stress.
Or for a night together with your darling...
An incredibly relaxing song that has me back to the 80's.

When this song came out it was a very lonely time for me, when I hear it now it brings back so many memories, such a great song.
Easily one of the most underrated songs of the 80's.
Agreed!
What is its rating?
that is absolutely and flatly false, I am from the 80s, and this song was one of the most important of that decade in the whole world
@@kpmonday7952 Some people think that using the word "underrated" is somehow better than just saying "I liked it" but it sounds moronic, particularly since, as you say, this song was quite popular.
@@jamesmcinnis208 I think it is finally a kind of compliment, but it is from people of this time who did not live in those years
This is the best pop song ever written. Mellow, heartfelt, well played and recorded..it's simply this perfect pop gem, shimmering, glimmering and blue.

Such a beautiful song!!
I can't believe how underrated this song is, My mate who's in his 50's and big time into his music had never heard this song, now he tells me he listens to it every time he needs to relax and remember the good times
Essa música e uma forma de nostalgia me faz voltar no tempo , e admitir o quanto a década de 80 e 90 Foram boas em nossas vidas !!!

I'll never forget that song. I was on the beach where I lived on Cape Cod. Twenty-five yrs young. Every time I hear it I see myself 35 yrs ago back there. Great song.
When this song first aired on the radio, I bought the cassette tape. I still have it today.
This song is good to listen to on a Sunday afternoon while going for a drive

This is a song with refined class and elegance. It takes me to another dimension. One of my favorites.
Such a romantic song. It's so smooth. x
Such a beautiful relaxing 80’s tune.
There's a complete feeling of euphoria in me whenever I hear this song....just classic 😭😭😭

Completely forgot about this song. Literally takes me to another time and place.
When a song is more a place than a song.
Haven't heard this in years, what a gorgeous song! The 80s was such a great decade for music. I listen to 80s stuff on a daily basis, when music was music and lyrics actually meant something. Simpler times somehow
Words can’t describe how much I love this song..💙
Well you know..... I have to agree with you...... I've always loved this song.!!!..... Ever since the first time I heard it. as it came across the airwaves .. back in 86........... And the lyrics in this song are so captivating...... Picturing myself on a beautiful white sandy beach!!!!. The only thing better than listening to this song .over and over again is.....siitting down at my piano and playing along with it!!... And let's not forget singing along with those great lyrics!!! what a treat to be able to grace my hands across those black and white keys to the song of my dreams!!......
I am in that same timeframe and it does great good.
You took the words from my mouth! It's one of the best of the 80's.
I am not very musical but I love this song. It sounds as good now as it in the 1980s
They actually play instruments on this song, unlike the crap that comes out on the radio now.

Great song but why is there a guitar player. No guitar in the song or waaaay back in the mix

Anos 80 ahaaaaa!!!
