Thanks Willie! I just ordered the digital back issue for Oct 2022 Popular Woodworking issue. I plan to build the bearing guided version this weekend. Yours is the best of all the Exact Width Dado Jigs I've seen.

Thanks Gary! They really do work well. Good luck with the jig build. Best to you.

How does the bushing guided jig cut to the thickness of the sheet stock when you are using a 5/8" bushing an a 1/2" bit? It seems like the dado would be 1/8" narrow.

Hi Steve, you cut two passes to get the 3/4" width. Best

@@TheThoughtfulWoodworker That doesn't make sense. If the jig is set to the width of the dado, and the bush is running in the jig and is wider than the bit, How can the bit route the full width of the jig? It can't.

@@johnnyshinnichi1785 The red jig has an offset to account for the bushing. It works the same way the Woodpeckers jig operates. Here's a video showing that setup... th-cam.com/video/AoKwj5jgeks/w-d-xo.html Thanks

@@TheThoughtfulWoodworker Gotcha. So the wood is clamped between another board which is below the top one, leaving the top boards slightly further apart for the bush to run in. Thanks.

I don’t know why this channel doesn’t have way more subscribers. Videos are always full of useful information and very well done. Keep up the great work!

Popular Woodworking got the link wrong, for starters.

@@patlaw53 that may be true. Luckily any video is pretty easy to find with a keyword search. Thanks

No tearout when the bit leaves the edge of the plywood. Interesting. What's the trick?

Sometimes I move the router from outside to inside at the start of the dado. That helps to minimize tear out.
