I had my hot tub for two years, and I was as befuddled as they come. The spa person who installed it, gave me one bottle and simply said to just add a capful after each use. Well, when my spot turned completely green, I started watching your videos. In fact, I watched them two, and maybe three times. Then I created my own cheat sheet. I bought every product you suggested including the lift. Now my hot tub is simple to maintain, making only minor adjustments. Thank you, thank you! Oh, you did teach me a few more things in this video, so I will keep watching.❤

I just bought one and the same thing happened to me. Hence, the reason I’m now watching this channel. 🤍

Hi again from East Yorkshire, UK. Another nice informative vid. Today, after viewing one of your previous vids on reducing noise immitions, I've installed 2" urathane insulation in my tub, after complaints from my neighbours at the back of the "hum" whilst the tub does its twice daily 2 hour filter cycle. As a result, my noise is down from 44 decibels on filter to 35, and on full jets from 62 to 56. Excellent advice, thanks again.

    Hi.tnx for your video.
I have a spa that can't hold chlorine.
In my country we made jacuzzi and not like yours.(with cement and ceramic)
I think the chloramin is too high.
But I don't have test kit.
If I add too much chlorine powder what happend?
I can't calculate the enough powder.
I use the granules chlorine in pool without problem but in this jacuzzi I can not hold it.
    The temp is 39 c.
    Indoor spa.
    Sorry for my bad English

My manual says don't use a floater, Are they really bad for some hot tubs even though they're basically the same ?

You shouldn't be using tabs in hot tubs. Tabs are mainly for pools.
You should be pouring the chemicals into the filter area too.
Dichlor/bromine in granular form is best.

Why wouldn’t you recommend putting your granular chemicals in by your filter so they break down? Instead of throwing them in as you did and not settle on your seats or foot well? 🤔🤷🏻‍♂️

My spa shock has very specific measurements for how much to add/gallons of water. Here I see you tossed in an unmeasured amount. Why didn’t you measure?

I don't know if you've already made a video as such and I'm not gonna go through all your video list but if you haven't made a video on purging the tub once to twice a year,, that would be a good one. My hot tub tech offers a hydrogen peroxide system to replace all chemical usage but the add on modification costs $1,400

I have well water and use a hose filtration device prior to filling my hot tub- seems to work well to keep out alot of the minerals etc as we have super hard water here! I still have some issues with balancing chemicals- just wondering if that weekly product is enough to not have to use all kinds of stuff to balance my tub? I am ALL IN on anything that makes things easier when caring for our tub!!

My alkalinity is super high. My ph is super low. Adjust the alkalinity down 1st. But nothing then raises ph without raising alkalinity back up.

Off topic a little, but what are your thoughts on borates in hot tubs? Seems like a great extra buffer system that is used often in swimming pools could translate to hot tubs.

Been reading up that I need to build a bromine bank in my tub after refill. Is it okay to start with bromine tablets and let the water sit with it for a week and shock. or should I add specifically sodium bromide, shock and then bromine tablets to maintain?

I feel like this is wrong. Everything I've read is that you adjust PH and Aka will follow on it's own.
Also why are using test strips? Always Taylor Test kit.
    Tabs are for pools.
Non chlorine shock is an oxidizer. And as you said raises the chlorine/bromine. Which is why you don't use tabs too.
Lots of mistakes in this video.

This guy knows nothing about chemicals at all this video is full of misinformation-I have been working at a retail pool store for twenty three years and have schooled customers who watch all these people making these uneducated videos we make fun of people like this all the time it’s kind of funny how gullible people are when it comes to pool and spa care-honestly go to a professional pool store and have them check your water and give you the correct advice I’m not even going to list all the mistakes this guy said he would just make a new video like he knew what he was talking about from my correct knowledge

Hello Jeff, I just purchased a new hot tub and I can't get the ph or the alkaline down. I keep adding spa down a little at a time and it doesn't move at all. What should I do? I also have very hard city water. Thanks.

I'm having the exact same problem.
Did you resolve the issue and if so how?
I'm day 5 into my brand new J235 and the PH and Alkalinity are at maximum and I've added 200g of solution based PH decreaser using official Jacuzzi approved chemicals.
The PH nor the Alkalinity hasn't shifted one iota. I add approximately 50g of PH decreaser (via warm water solution) a day

Do you know much about Master Spa products? We bought a balance 9 and I just did my first refill water went cloudy and couldn't get it back to proper specs. Our water is through a softner so we definitely have to add hardner. Question so I just got water up to temp and strip showed oh fine but alkalinity high so only product they give us is pH reducer. So now what? Wait 20 mins and see what the strip says?

-20 out here in Canada we ain't leaving the hot tub on and cover off and waiting 30 minutes between adding chemicals for 2 hours lmao never ever had a problem adding them all. Usually I refill bromine, shock, then test after 30 minutes and adjust with other chemicals. Never had a problem!
