Being a Colorado and Denver native, this video blows my mind
Was born & raised, left in the mid-70s. Somethings I miss... then I find that those things are forever gone.
I miss the Colorado I grew up in (70s/80s).
So do I.
We all do.
Look at it this way, at least you (we) were lucky enough to experience it.
Wish I grew up here in the 50’s seems pretty cool and less congested

I'm only 22. I wish this was the Colorado that existed today. Denver today is congested, crowded, full of homeless, expensive, dirty, and stripped of all natural beauty. It takes forever to get out of city and up into the mountains, and places like Grand Lake have been nearly destroyed by crowding and beetles eating the forest and trees away.
I feel robbed of a better Colorado.
I feel you, but keep in mind this is happening everywhere in this nation. Same situation here (22 Colorado native). It’s become really expensive over the past 10 years especially, and the congestion is getting worse (though still not as bad as Texas or Cali). Even though it’s getting harder and harder, it’s still one of the better states in the Union and will always be my favorite state
Also keep in mind that the past isn’t as rosy as it seems. As bad as the pollution can get today in Denver, it MUCH worse in the 70s and 80s

@@LukeLovesRose I don't know who the Tribe is, but I certainly reject the racist and bigoted claim that it is multi-culturalism that has been the downfall of Colorado or the Union as a whole. In fact, multi-culturalism is the nature and beauty of this Nation.

Wow. There were only two outdated parts of this.
1) Elitch Gardens moved locations and is not really a garden anymore.
2) The railroad that runs through the royal gorge is now a tourist attraction, and the low suspension bridge I think is gone.
Besides that, everything is almost exactly the same as it was back then.
Baba Looey i remember walking through the pueblo dwellings...I don't think they allow that anymore.

Our common sense is going up in smoke
I lived in Colorado from 1998 through 2010. Loved it. But I always wished I could have known it in an earlier time such as shown in this film. Unfortunately I think it’s going downhill. Central City and Cripple Creek have been ruined by turning them into casino towns. I knew people who used to go up to gamble and they didn’t care anything about the mountains or the history. All they cared about were the casinos. And I don’t like the way the culture is going in Colorado.
Modern society tells us if we look back on these times fondly, that we are bad people. Very odd times.
