Personally I love zanzibar. It smells delicious, very long lasting on my skin. Definitely my summer scent 🥥🌴
Definitely understand the appeal for a lot of people, it's just really polarizing with the iris/ coconut water combo. Surprised more reviews didn't mention that.

I like your hair. Always wanted to say that lol. I'm waiting for the Zanzibar hype to die down so I can get it for around $30. Scent profile sounds up my alley and I want a new summer dumb reach but I always had the feeling that I'll find it good but not over the top amazing.

I get creamy coconut/vanilla ice-cream from the mid through the drydown with this one.
Sometimes I layer it with "Bianco Latte" or "Invictus Victory Elixir" when I want to make it creamier or even more coconutty.
Will pick up two backup bottles soon for funsies now that the price is in the $25 range...was $50 when I bought it.
i love seeing people who don't like the latest hyped fragrance. thank you for your honesty! i'm curious to try this and see what i think.

I didn't like it at first but now it's way better after maturation
Everytime I wear it around my daughter it gives a belly ache. It's gotta be a super cheap iris oil. Hopefully it gets better as it matures. U explained this better than any reviewer. Everyone else seemed confused about it and I am too lol😂

Thanks for keeping it real. I jumped on the hype train for this one and bought it early because I was worried it was going to sell out or the price would go up. My initial impression is that it's a simple fragrance and very linear. It smells like vanilla ice cream and salt. I'm getting weak projection and gone in about 3 hours. There are other fragrances like Mercedes Benz Club Black that do vanilla much better and last all day. I will give it a couple months to see if it improves but I'm skeptical of maceration. Especially when other Lattafa fragrances are strong from day one.
Other Lattafas smell better too
I’m actually very surprised you didn’t like it 😅 I have it. The opening is the best part for me but as it dries down, it gets a little blue Frag/masculine for me. It does layer very well with AG’s Cloud though. Like they’re a match made in Heaven honestly … on its own, I give it a 7/10

Mines been sitting for 2 months now after 1 wearing. It just didn't smell like reviews said when i received it. Now it's a little stronger but all i smell is coconut water and pepper basically

Al Nashama Caprice is one of Lattafas best. I was on the fence about this one but after your review I'll probably hold off on it
They've had some absolute hits! This just isn't one of them. Al Ameed is miles ahead.

@blackknightdl YES....whenever I get any fragrance I immediately pump 10 sprays out, shake the bottle and put it in my closet for 3-5 days before wearing them (clone or original) .

I said the same exact thing when I received my bottle last week!! There's something in there that I just can't get past & unfortunately this fragrance is a no-go for me!! Glad it was a cheap blind buy, so if I can't resell it then the loss won't be as bad, financially?!

Wow after watching just by your facial expressions I knew this wasn't gonna be good lol. Thank you again for the non-hype review. I was thinking instead of this maybe go with JPG le Beau edt, Le Parfum or PR Victory Elixer. Le Beau Le Parfum is hard to find.

I bought this when it first came out because FOMO is real, and I must say that while I haven't been blown away by it, I do enjoy it as a no brainer reach for the hot weather here in NC. I have been trying it solo and also as a layering/combo scent. It works very well with Cedrat Essence or Cedrat Boise (whichever you may own) as well as most of my other citrus forward scents. Not the best Lattafa i own by far but in no way the worst. The only regret is paying that full price...It should have been $30 or less. Great review btw!!

Hi Sarah ! I felt the same way as you with Zanzibar. So...I put it aside...disappointed.... I let it "sit" for like 3 weeks and then gave it another shot. I actually started "liking" it. I have worn it 3 times...and i get something different from the notes each time I have worn it. (?). It is "unique" IMHO...but will remain a "like" but not a "love".
You have some really good stuff in your collection. I honestly don't think this will ever measure up to that, you know?

Waiting for lattafa Zanzibar, Ysl's Y Live and Roberto Cavalli Uomo Parfum to arrive this Wednesday. So finally R.C. made a new flanker in the uomo line.
The problem with the OG Asad for me is that synthetic amber note, if you removed that cheap quality fake amber it'd be a really decent fragrance, but I'm saying this cus I like that sort of old spice feel it has, I just don't like the amber.
Zanzibar is just tropical and very sweet, like roasted vanilla coconut, has a very VERY brief similarity to JPG Le Beau, just for a split second that makes you go "aaah I've smelled this before", but it's its own thing after that...and I honestly don't get any prominent iris.
The synthetic iris is what blows it for me
I have Davidoff cool water intense. Is it similar to this at all? Sweetish/fresh at the same time? I love Iris btw so I kind of want to try this even tho you aren’t a fan of Zanziber

I don’t think Sauvage Elixir has iris, could be part of the problem combined with being very synthetic. Think I’ll stick with Alexander’s version. Stuff is incredible. ❤️❤️

This is the review I was looking for. I held out thinking that your thoughts are exactly how I’d feel about it. I loathe lipstick iris, although I do really like iris in Prada L’homme. I hated the first Asad, so I didn’t have high hopes on this one.

I also plan to take a step back from clones after an order where all five bottles were just not for me. Going to go more along the route of discovery sets or smelling retail and buying wholesale… most of which I’ve been doing anyway.
The decant route has really been working for me. I still blind buy indie but those typically have been hits for me!

Sarah do you have a separate page where you sell your fragrances you don't like? Also have you tried any of Fragrance World colognes? Word has it they are very potent.
I just sell either on Mercari or fragrance Marketplace. I think my only fragrance world one is star man nebula.

I got it, tried one spray and left it in the cupboard. Not sure this is for me. Feels similar to Le Beau Le Parfum.
Too synthetic. Le Beau edt is my jam; parfum is OK, but still miles ahead of this.

Great video enjoyed it but maybe if you let it macerate it might be better about 2 months you know it about Middle East frags well some of them but if you’re stuck on getting rid of it ok.

Tried a few Lattafas, and have to say, as a middle easterner with access to so many brands, they are legit bottom of the barrel.
Their quality is *LEVELS* below things like Arabian Oud, Abdul Samad Al Qurashi, or even great mid-tier ones like Rasasi, Ajmal, or Afnan. Most Lattafas are synthetic and really cheaply made.
Arabian oud is 🔥🔥🔥 top tier

I'm macerating mine, but my first impression was negative: overbearing fake coconut and reminded me of Le Beau, which I don't like. By the way, I tried Le Beau Paradise Garden, if you want OVERHYPED try that one, I didn't like it either.
After trying that one, I actually think this is the dupe and I DEFINITELY didn't like that one lol

I really appreciate these "anti-hype" reviews. I'm so tired of things being hyped and it's not even good or it's very basic, etc. I get that fragrances are very personal and taste is subjective but this whole hype thing needs to chill. Lots of random people jumped on the fragrance bandwagon just trying to make a buck or two but they know very little about fragrances. It's frustrating as hell tbh. So it makes me even more grateful for people like you who are true to your word and actually know what you're talking about. Much appreciated.

It's MEN perfume not women. There is a reason why OUD is most popular around the globe as it's an acquired taste but first time users and especially people in the west hate it. This perfume is not a western inspired perfumes. There is way it is supposed to be applied and not sprayed on whole body like women generally do. It's perfume and not a deo.

It's hyped because many other reviewers liked it. Just like I'm sure there have been ones where you have hyped and other reviewers didn't like. Just a matter of taste, of course.
Blind buys will ALWAYS be hits and misses. You can't get great ones every time, although that would be nice. I just see this review as you not liking it. No biggie. For others, it might be the best smell ever.
@oldschoolfunkster1 I literally mentioned a bunch of times that people out there will like it, which is why I won't say anything negative about it. The quality isn't on par with what lattafa has been putting out. I won't get on YT and misrepresent something for any reason though so if the quality isn't there, I'm going to say that. I'm sorry that you didn't like my honesty but you couldn't pay me to lie about anything.

Fragrance taste is subjective. With that being said, I think there are a few fragrance reviews that have come out recently that I can definitely make a determination on a reviewer's integrity. You are def a real one!

Over hyped. They cut costs on materials and the worst way to wear a fragrance is having to wait to get through a certain part of your experience to enjoy. Thank you for being honest. Don’t follow the crowd wear what you love.

How do you know what materials have been cost cut?
There are MANY high end perfumes that have a not so great beginning and end up with a beautiful aroma. It's just the different stages a perfume has to go through. They do have linear fragrances that smell the same from start to finish. But the beauty and sophistication of a fragrance needs to go through the top, heart, and base levels of it. I have many perfumes that go on smelling one way and end up smelling completely different.
And skin chemistry. What smells sweet on one person, might smell like apple cider on another.
But that's for another topic.

Its like a clone of a clone of le beau edt with low quality ingredients to me , first half hour all i get is a celery smell, maybe its better after its sat a while
If they were going for le beau, they failed. I have 2 bottles of that bc it's brilliant, but this doesn't come near it. That's why I feel like they could have done so much better.
