This is great to hear!! My Uncle Peter was of course in the Tucson Boys Chorus and I always heard them on occasion growing up in Tucson... but always wanted to hear the chorus from around the time they probably had more of that classic Tucson sound I grew up hearing in my family at gatherings.
I don't know how old you are but our families know each other I think. They're the Luciano's. I heard my mom say she and her sisters and brothers went to school with Ronstadts.
@@yaquimike it's so weird. My mom and her 3 sisters and 2 brothers all grew up in Tucson and had a couple of friends with your last name. But they'd be much older than we are. I'm 42 and you're 36. But probably your family though. Lol
I'm so happy to have found this. I wasn't born when it first aired and had never seen it until I stumbled across your video yesterday. But my dad had the record, so my siblings and I grew up listening to it. It's been a favorite my whole life. Over the years, I've found several copies of the record; some I've given as gifts, a couple I have kept. I'm 49 now and have five children of my own. Decades from now, I hope this music still brings them as much joy as it does me.
I first seen this Video on AFRTS tv in Okinawa Japan in 1967 or 68 as part of the christmas special I fell in love with the program . but little did i know that when i returned to the states i was to be stationed in Tucson AZ The spanish carols were never song before as their old songs from Mexico over 100 to 200 + yrs old . I have since worked with this choir back in 1970 great bunch of boys JB
Wow its been 45 years since i seen this video and most if not all these boys are in their late 50's now many faces i remember working with of the boys who sang this program i wounder what thy have done since this filming they need to do this again their are many who have never these classic songs . Gracias
I remember that this broadcast was a big deal in Tucson at the time. We had a "watch party" in my neighborhood for it. Thanks for sharing Jim.
