Just imagine him filming that scene Director: Ok (insert joshs actors name) just look at the camera and act surprised (insert joshs actors name): Wow we did so many takes which one are you going to choose Director: HAHAHAHAHA “takes”
Love this scene. She forgot to mention: "She paid almost $1000 for dinner and drinks to get close with Josh again" "She donated 10k to go to a camp to get alone time"
Natalie P And got her best friend to break her patio door to back up her lie that she did not just break into his house to hack into his phone to delete a text message that was NOT meant for him! #textastrophe
Haha yep! And that she had a stash of “Josh items” like a teddy bear and macaroni collage of his face and underwear that said “I HEART Josh.” And that Trent was a fake BF and that the coupon was fake, the list goes on 😂
She started a class action lawsuit against a water company, invented a fake boyfriend, hired a child ping pong champion to coach her, rented a party bus, bribed a bouncer $500 to get into a club, berated the aloha tech manager into giving Josh a job, etc etc etc
There is a certain trend: Season 1: Where's the Bathroom? Season 2: Stuck in the Bathroom Season 3: The Buzzing in the Bathroom Season 4: There's No Bathroom
Rachel bloom probably deserves an Emmy for this moment. Not only did she pull off the crazy, but I don't think this is an easy song to sing. Lotta breath support needed.
I'm pretty sure that's exactly what happened 😭the second hand embarrassment I experienced when I first watched this caused my soul to fuckin astral into hell... But now I listen to the song just for fun 💀💀💀 I'm so torn on this scene, bc Josh IS the victim of her behavior so he deserved to know, but at the same time his response of "Wow I guess I did nothing wrong after all 😌" drove me INSANE. Which I know is the point, but despite knowing how toxic Rebecca's behavior was, part of me still wanted her to get a proper angry confrontation about him literally LEAVING HER AT THE ALTAR
ifuckinghate cantaloupe can't tell if youre serious or unnecessarily mean and sarcastic. But I'd like to think that fans of this show are above such things. so thanks!
Everyone’s fantasized about confronting an ex who wronged them without closure. The fact that this confrontation immediately backfires on Rebecca is exactly why it should remain a fantasy 😅
i just sent my ex a letter explaning exactly why I think he is pathetic, calling him everything I hoped would trigger him to feel some kind of negative emotion towards me. also I put a shit ton of glitter in the envelope and told him that I hope that with every speck of glitter he will inevitably find until eternity he will think of me and be triggered again by the words I said to him in the letter
@@tourmelion9221 well I hoped to use such strong words that it would hurt his ego in order to create a trigger that would reappear every time he found some glitter. Yes, that makes me the bad person in this case and no, the three years of trauma don't justify that. I know. I wanted to petty-ly hurt him back because he seemed so indifferent about the suffering he has caused me.
I applauded after this scene. All the comments are about the stuff Rebecca was saying in the song, but if you pay attention to Josh's face, you can clearly see his reactions go from guilt to confusion to shock to awkward relief. He emotes really well.
Josh even moonlighted as a military judge on Bull, poor guy he escaped to the parent network, though why a judge... there was a chance Bull takes Rebecca for the defense... Speaking of which I'm hoping for CEG-Arrow crossover since season 1... Josh Chen, you failed this city.
I love how if you saw this without context you would assume Josh was the protagonist of the series, really highlights how well the show represents what BPD can do to you
Dork Princess I guess a lot of things were an accident, like getting trapped having to watch him have sex, but a lot of those accidents happened while she was stalking him, and stalking is still wrong -_-
Yep, something I liked about that was they did everything to help the cat AND THEN they found out there would be consequences. They weren't trying to soften the blow, they legitimately felt bad and wanted to make up for it.
To be fair she wouldn't have run the cat over if she wasn't stalking the girl, plus the whole breaking into her business to delete the evidence, so, I am counting the cat thing, a share of guilt tho, Valencia was there as well.
God I cannot being to express how loud i yelled when this first few notes of this song started. It was perfect when Paula sang it and it became infinitely more perfect in its reprise. This is a 2 season pay off and it was fucking WORTH it oh god. It especially comes at a time when you are watching this totally on Rebecca's side after she changed her mind about destroying josh and how emotionally fragile she is and now you hear this and think "oh shit that's right, most of the stuff she does is downright bad". This show constantly toes the line of Rebecca being a hero and villain and the brilliance of this song shows you how close to the edge of all of that she is now. Well done Rachel. You've reminded us once again why this show is on the top of its game.
Exactly my thoughts. We root for Rebecca but when you look at it, she isn't all that good. Made harder for me to acknowledge given that I relate with her a lot :)
yep definitely, I like how it brings us back to the premise of the show that she is a crazy ex girlfriend and reminds us she isn't the hero. Though I hate at the end how josh thinks it means he is off the hook. He is almost as bad as her. He has done bad things to and has also enabled Rebecca in some of her bad things. All the things she has done doesn't mean he is completely scot free from the bad he has done.
Take a moment to appreciate that this is this song’s second appearance. And both times it’s from the “in-love” person to the oblivious one. It’s such great writing.
It also goes deeper than that. The first time, from Paula's perspective, she's making Rebecca feel bad for all the effort on her part that she didn't know about, while from Rebecca's, she's humiliating herself, admitting to things she absolutely didn't need to do. It's so great how it's exactly the same scenario this time. Almost none of the things she mentions having done were caused by him. The first line is brilliant because what he sees as a normal conversation between friends she sees as leading her on. So goddamn well written.
It's also so telling that the first version of the song is "after everything i've done for you" and this version is "after everything you made me do." God these writers are good
I audibly gasped and grabbed my mom's arm when the music started. I have a serious thing for reprises. I was in this big discussion about what songs should be reprised and what plot points would lead to those reprises, but no one guessed this.
I love this song so much. Absolute highlight of the episode, I swear to you. This show just keeps getting better and better as time passes by and that's so rare for a TV show to just not get stale! I'm adoring the absolute "crazy" that's coming from Rebecca and I'm so glad we're back to where it all started, now she's out for blood (and revenge, of course!). I can't wait to see (and hear!) how everything unfolds. The original is my most favourite of all of the songs released thus far but this oh my gosh Rachel, you and the songwriters have truly outdone yourselves this time! Thank you for creating such an incredible show!
the appeal has broadened to a wider audience. i fee like men can watch and listen to the songs where before I would just skip most of them or leave the room while they played
Bradly C And that point is perfectly valid but you said that now men can watch them even though plenty of guys (including me) already did, don't "generalize about men" ;)
i'm just saying that they are broadening the audience. no need to get all SJW on me....we are on the same side. we need to get more people, and imo esp men, watching in order to get a 4th season so that we can get CEGF in how it was originally planned.
I don’t think she actually sang it to him. I think she lost it and screamed everything at the church in front of all those people. It just transformed into a song in her head. It doesn’t make sense that she would actually have the guy play music for her song at church. In Catholic Church it would be profanity. So, no, I don’t think it actually happened anywhere besides in her own head.
I watched this entire number with my mouth open. Oh my god. The greatest moment of the show so far, but considering the pace of the season, it's bound to be topped in a few weeks. I mean, oh my god.
The thing I love about this song is that when Paula sang it, it sounds so insane and cartoonish without context, but with Rebecca singing it, it’s insane but we get it
Oh jesus, I know we should be rooting against the crazy ex girlfriend but as soon as Josh said "I have nothing to feel guilty about!" I was just like "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" He's done that too many times. With Valencia, with dating rebecca behind gregs back, with the wedding. He needs to feel guilty, goddammit! God I can't wait to see how this season ends. STOP ENDING ON CLIFFHANGERS! THEY WILL KILL ME!
we should be rooting against rebecca being a crazy ex girlfriend, not rebecca herself. We should be rooting against it because it's unhealthy for her and she deserves better.
I have never hated Josh so much until he thought it was "all good" when she was done. No dumb ass you are hiding in a church because you left her at the alter and are too immature to show your face to anyone that knows you
@TheBobBrom I thought we were talking specifically about "brains and ability". In the case of mental stability, she's definitely not the brightest. But in terms of achievements and academe, she's proven to be highly capable.
TheBobBrom Obviously. The song literally highlights how bad a partner and not ready for marriage _she_ was. But the niceness of her line about Josh was that part of her craziness involved not seeing his obvious flaws. So it was nice to hear her finally be aware of how dumb and lacking as a partner (and adult) Josh was.
This song is so good at capturing the resentment of someone with a martyr complex, it honestly has me kind of shook. I remember when Paula sang it I was losing my shit at how horrible she was being and to see Rebecca on the other side of it was an amazing reprise.
I always thought hers with Greg was the healthiest relationship she ever had, since neither of them were obsessing over the other to an unhealthy degree. It was just their own internal problems they had to work through on their own before they could have a meaningful relationship.
@@Kyran1996 Yeah but I think Nathaniel was her best relationship since they helped challenged each other but Greg and her also works except he just seemed to idealized her from his own insecurities. Where with Nathaniel, he didn't really care about her until feeling slightly attracted and then slowly getting to know her. And out of the 3 of her love interest, Nathaniel seem like the only one who was really worried about her when she disappeared to her mom's house after sleeping with greg's dad. But also when Rebecca was dating Nathaniel and she did her usual obsessive habits, Nathaniel still wanted to make it work, unlike Josh and Greg who just keep fleeing and having miscommunications. I mean Rebecca and Nathaniel's relationship was not perfect since Rebecca still loved him but wanted to work on herself first and what she really wants in life and Nathaniel just not completely getting that since he just wanted to be with her. And I think Greg sort of love her but he was unsure of what he wanted with his life either and was never really confronting his feelings for Rebecca before it was too late. Even though he did try to date her and she ended up breaking his heart by sleeping with another guy on the day of their date. So yeah. Rebecca is not exactly good with relationships throughout the show and I like how at the end of the series, she pursues her dream similar to what Greg was trying to do with his life and she doesn't end up with any of them. But even after this, I wish she ends up with Nathaniel in like several years or so since they seemed to really care for each other. Like Greg tried to care but he kept getting hurt by her impulsive decisions and I want him to figure out his life. With Nathaniel, he is kind of a reminder of the people from new york that Rebecca didn't want to be but after several episodes you can see he is that type of person but there is more to him than meets the eye. I don't know but thank you for sharing your opinions and sorry for the long comment.
Not really. She just laid out that after zero interest from Josh she packed up and moved to his home town, stalked him, pushed herself onto him and manipulated him for her own agenda. He's actually the victim here at Rebecca's hand.
when that drum fade in I was like "HOLYSHIT YAZZZZZ" and thought shit is about to go down for Josh. But then when I finally heard the lyrics I was like "Ooh rebecca what have you done?" AND THAT IS THE TESTAMENT OF HOW GOOD THIS SHOW IS. It creates it own language that sparks reaction to its audience and weaponize it to create a twist that not only makes your jaw drop, but also bloom a more complex feelings and deep character development of its characters. I SWEAR THIS SHOW IS GETTING BETTER BY THE SEASON & I HOPE CW STILL BELIEVES THIS SHOW AND RENEWED IT FOR ANOTHER SEASON.
Rebecca blaming all of her psychotic, unhealthy antics on someone unaware of her mental illness and obsession...was the healthiest thing she did in a long time?? Hahaha woooow, the mental gymnastics. The healthiest thing she did, was to be confronted on her toxic behavior and seek actual therapy. Funny how this show highlights how awful someone's toxic behavior can be, yet people will crawl out of the woodwork to warp Rebecca as somehow a brave hero when she is really an awful person, which the show doesn't at all shy away from demonstrating over and over.
Rudy E. Yeah, but the therapy came after this. And as for this action being healthy, she’s being honest about what she did to Josh, which is a step forward. Yes, she’s still doing everything for the wrong reasons, but at least now she’s doing the right thing for the wrong reasons. It’s not really healthy, but it’s closer than she was before.
There is no competition between either version both are brilliant and hold different narrative purposes. What I love so much about this show is seeing Rebecca's perspective and how hurt she and how she has deep issues that have nothing to do with josh because they were there before josh, I love how much her depression shows throughout an episode and yet seeing her hurt and pain and self destructive unlikable behavior still makes me feel empathy to her, yet we often see this scene through someone like joshes eyes are see her as a scary monster even though Rebecca is just deeply and yet josh calls her crazy and blast it all over the internet in the promo for next week's episode. Its set up the crazy ex girlfriend theme so well. This reprise was fantastic.
The amount is staggering. She said to Paula in the pilot that she refused a promotion that would have made her $545,000/year. I don't know what her salary at Whitefeather is, but it's probably hundreds of Gs lower. And that's for just a year. There's the notorious $10,000 for the wedding, but also, as noted in another comment, the bill from the group hang, and the donation to the youth camp she and Jonah went to. That's respectively $1,000 and $10,000. Then there's the gift for Josh's sister's wedding that was in the tens of thousands. I don't know how much the party bus cost, but couldn't have been cheap. We can assume that she shared costs with Paula on their spy kit but they got some pretty elaborate stuff so a few hundred dollars there too. In one year, she spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on him. Over a lifetime ? Millions.
@@mundanejane353 In season 1, we learn that she never saved money when she was in New York or invested it. So yes, she was making enough, but her total inability to manage her finances led her to be actually broke by the middle of season 1 (the episode where she starts moving back to NY but gets help from the Dream Ghost). To be fair, she became broke notably after trying to plant ten grands in Darryl' ex's car and effectively losing that money to said ex. But still.
Not just spending money, but also paying off Darryl’s ex wife for making it look like she was trying to smuggle things out of the country 😂😂😂 Why did she do that? She wanted to prove to Greg she was a good person so that Greg would hype her up to Josh (surface) but also because it conflicts with her view of herself to have him say she’s selfish (deeper)
I love that this show actually holds its characters accountable for their actions (most of the time...nobody's perfect!). It's so rare and so refreshing.
Rebecca's isn't supposed to be better. Paula's was longer and had to convey the original idea. She was singing because she felt betrayed by Rebecca's lack of gratitude towards her (not totally justified, but she had a lot going on). Rebecca is singing because she feels like she needs everyone to know all the stuff she's done, and she wants Josh to feel bad, whether that's guilty or scared. She's also heavily influenced by Paula, since she's so close to her. Her mental health issues clearly take it to another level and give it a new meaning.
Rachel Bloom is an absolute star. Her voice can be so amazing, and her acting is top notch. This is my favourite song in Crazy Ex Girlfriend because Rebecca finally told Josh the truth, and really ripped into him. After leaving her at the altar, he deserves much more than to just get yelled at
Damn Rachel really demonstrated her range tonight! Between this song and Strip Away My Conscience, I am truly overwhelmed by her talent. She’s always been my role model but after tonight’s new episode I’m feeling particularly inspired by her. She’s everything.
kittyquiqui that's exactly what nathaniel said. But she has been living with all that so now that it's off her chest she feels better. But she only just opened a door she didn't want opened. I honestly don't think her friends will abandon her. They all know she's a little crazy and they accept that.
Ariel Adler exactly. The warnings were there - Paula trying to stick to their legit revenge plan of suing that would get back at Josh but preserve Rebecca, Nathaniel specifically commenting on how if she confronted him she'd just embarrass herself...but yet here we are. Can't wait to see the fallout
Aha yeah Rebecca was wrong for most of the stuff she did out of her obsession for Josh But oh my god it pissed me off so much when he was like “Oh yeah I have nothing to feel guilty for”. Like NO, you’re still at fault as well haha
when Paula sang this song, she goes: "After everything I've for you, that You didn't ask for" wich means that even when she is wrong with all that she did, she asume responsability for her actions...but Rebecca sang: " After everthing You made me do, that You didn't ask for"... still justifiying her motives and blame them onto Josh...he is no saint, but her lirycs shows how unwell she still is at this point 👀
Favorite moment: "i 'm the one who should be up there on that cross", Josh face say he want to fight that profanity but also he knows he dont have the moral superiority at that moment XD
I'm just consistently impressed by her (and/or the writers') ability to weave variant versions of CEG songs into relevant moments. This draws a connection between Paula, the original singer of this song, back when the Josh/Rebecca situation was still an unhealthy obsession in her life. She realized that eventually and adjusted her life accordingly, but this song being modified for Rebecca and sung by her further demonstrates the dysfunction of her relationship with Josh and the unhealthy role it's played in her life.
I don't know why, but I really love the face he makes after she says he "lacks brains and ability" it is such a quick moment but he looks so believably hurt.
I love that Rebecca is basically singing the same song as Paula and same role as her, but also with more crazy in the song because she's literally CRAZIER than Paula! So spot-on.
This is what i love - the characters are SO multi-dimensional that there is never clearly one person to put the blame on, or one villain, and how there is so much room for debate and examining the psychology behind the motives that led to their actions. Nothing in the show is black and white. And people think Crazy Ex-GF is just a "musical theatre show..." gah, so simple-minded! It's subtle and nuanced, a perfect mix of light-hearted comedy with dark undertones of human emotion. At the end of the day, i think it's about mental illness and the unhealthy ways that we express (and will continue to express) our unaddressed issues.
she has time and time again used his "dumbness" which really it's just his naviety and trusting character. to lie and manipulate him non stop. honestly Josh is a sweet caring guy and just doesn't focus on being a "pyscho intellectual " yes rebecca has her very good caring traits but u can never trust her except in those moments where she admitted her lies and came clean but seldom ever did that with Josh especially in season 1 and 2 which made me not like her for that. she's always lying and shcheming and sometimes doing some really horrible things and sometimes doesn't make up for it but most the time she does which must be exhausting to keep on fixing dumb mistakes for being an "intellectual" lol. Josh just wanted to have a good happy relatively simple life especially in season 1. I mean in the first season he was literally just a perfect good guy. he doesn't focus on being smart he focuses on just doing his best to be nice and good. and in season 2 over getting a job. I don't know why throughout the seasons we are always made to think Josh is the most subpar guy out of the rest. it's like everyone is bullying and using him just cos he is dumb? I don't know why Josh would actually want Rebecca back again in season 4. I honestly find Josh the most non problematic character out of all of them. I mean after u find out ur girlfriend was lying to u all this time, was admitted to a mental institute, and now all this added drama of her lies and schemes and even cheating on him so close to their wedding. I would never want to be with a girl like that. don't get me wrong I love Rebecca, but she reminds me all too familiar with a. friend I had that was "good" like going to charities and stuff yet acted like she could gaslight and lie and twist my mind and she was never genuine and I hated that. I felt like a Josh, but a much less popular, introverted girl version that could only imagine of doing the things he did. in a way in season 1 Josh was the peak the "most golden character " of the show. they have somehow made velancia that practically controlled him all those years to be the main side character and like a level above Josh? which to me is problematic .how also Greg never told his best friend he was back ? I should make a video how Josh is actually the most underrated and not deserving of the hate he gets compared to the other nut jobs lol. I'm surprised they can all forgive each other like that but I guess that's what makes the show great, understanding and forgiveness and fixing problems , but I really didn't like how Rebecca ended if with all 3 guys just falling head over heels for her just seems narcasistic and unrealistic I mean their all very likeable ppl in their own way.
i read this comment at the exact time she sings it and i read a previous comment about the line "when i made out with my boss when we got stuck in an elevator" at the exact time she sings it too it was very entertaining for that to happen to me twice
Love how half of these are out of context to make her sound more crazy... a reflection of the whole show's theme I mean heck, running over the cat and watching him have sex were all accidental lol
I appreciate that this is the only moment Rebecca acknowledges that Josh isn't the brightest. It's not that she didn't know it... It just never mattered to her.
Upon reflection this number is made even better knowing that actually during this she was probably spiraling and jyst screaming all this stuff at Josh Chan.
I love that Rebecca is just mad at herself, while Josh was just some random inmature guy she got obsessed with. Josh is not doing things right, but Rebecca is the perfect example for a self-destructive person.
My BPD-ex was raging, manipulative, pathological liar, impulsive, verbally. emotionally, physically and psychologically abusive. As comorbidity tends to occur with these disorders it made things even harder. I was an emotional train-wreck for a while, to a certain extent still to this day. We dated for 4 years however it wasn't until our third year together when she was diagnosed. Unfortunately, she refused to seek therapy. I understand my codependency so currently healing and on therapy, We lived in different countries for a majority of our relationship so I was blinded with all the red flags. BPD is a very serious and painful mental health illness.
I love how well this scene puts you into Rebecca's mindset. Like yeah this was a terrible idea and ended up doing way more harm than good but by GOD was it cathartic in the moment.
I love how real this show is. You feel sympathy for Rebecca while also realizing hey, this girl needs help, she's kinda insane. Everyone has a Rebecca in them.
great numbers in this episode, some of the best since settle for me. but PLZ PLZ PLZ post "buzzing from the bathroom", cuz I'M DYING over michael mcmillian's performance!
aleshchins You can go ahead and find it now if you go to the Cracked channel on TH-cam. She used to work for Cracked so they actually got the song/music video as an exclusive before the episode aired
I haven't seen anything said by her on the subject but I think it has to be, I was shocked at the beginning of the song by how close the music was, but then it changed a bit from Empty Chairs ^^
help i have been watching this since yesterday non stop rachel really outdid herself with the singing and dont even have me started with her acting. She deserved so much award for this! Vincent is also great at this. He makes me proud as a filipino! 🤍 I love crazy ex girlfriend so much, like hundo p.
I love that she has Nathaniel now and that she is trying to get herself healthy instead of continuing to obsess over him. Those two were way better as friends honestly
I just realize that for the whole series Josh hasn't done anything but avoid responsability. He could have easily stopped her from doing all those crazy things, he just needed to say the word "No". Instead he decided to ignore the signals, lead her on and watch as Greg and Rebecca ruined their relationship. Now he focuses on what she has done and once again he doesn't take his part of responsability. I like Josh but I hope that the writers make him grow up a little before the end of the season
No one is saying Rebecca is blameless. But honestly if Josh hadn't led her on things wouldn't have gone so far, he has a huge responsability for how Rebecca is right now. When Rebecca was finally about to see that she needed to give up on Josh and the idea of love to make her happy, he asked her to marry him. She had grow so much and he made her go all the way back. He doesn't stop to think how he affects people and doesn't even take responsability for what he does.
Banjo Peppers I'm not saying that she's not to blame. She made A LOT of mistakes but one way or another she had to confront the people she has hurt. Josh tends to avoid taking responsibility and confronting the people that he hurt. I'm not hating Josh, I actually like this character but he's really childish and he needs to grow up
To be fair, Rebecca is avoiding responsibility just as much, by claiming Josh *made* her do all this stuff. Despite what she says, her bad decisions are not his fault, no more than his leaving her at the altar is hers.
Fiorenza Agazzi Not to forget how he treated Valencia back in season 1... he clearly knew that she wanted a more serious relationship, that she wanted to get married and all that, but instead of telling her that he isn't ready for this, he always avoided the topic and lead her on until she finally saw through his bullshit and broke up
Rewatching this I never realized the church organ player was playing the song. Joah turning his head to the Organ player and back to Rachel was hilarious, Tiny details like this is what makes this show so great.
This reminds me of the fact that Rebecca does have Bpd and she has a favorite person being Paula. (someone a bpder constantly looks to for validation) She doesn’t particularly realize it yet. But the tendency is for people with bpd to imitate their fp without realizing it. And she imitates Paula with this compulsively performed reprise too. She makes herself so vulnerable here which is why we still love her. But it’s her actual truth and she finally gets to release her repressed feelings with this reprise.
I'm forever bitter because Trent didn't get a reprise, (or, well, a third iteration of this song), at the end of the third season. It would've been so fitting! Just imagine... After everything I've done for you, (that you indeed asked for).
I love how Josh's actor expresses the word "What?" in 9 different ways without saying anything
That was the best part 😂
14 ways or so :0
Vincent is easy to stan
Just imagine him filming that scene
Director: Ok (insert joshs actors name) just look at the camera and act surprised
(insert joshs actors name): Wow we did so many takes which one are you going to choose
Director: HAHAHAHAHA “takes”
Honestly, I think he dodged a bullet there.
Love this scene. She forgot to mention:
"She paid almost $1000 for dinner and drinks to get close with Josh again"
"She donated 10k to go to a camp to get alone time"
Natalie P And got her best friend to break her patio door to back up her lie that she did not just break into his house to hack into his phone to delete a text message that was NOT meant for him!

"I now associate toilets with heartbreak, welcome to the hell I'm living!" Is my favorite no-context line in the whole world
It also deserves bonus points for the real world phenomena of how high school girls find out if their beau has a sidepiece
It makes me think that's the reason why she wanted to send him poop cupcakes
There is a certain trend:
Season 1: Where's the Bathroom?
Season 2: Stuck in the Bathroom
Season 3: The Buzzing in the Bathroom
Season 4: There's No Bathroom
Akos Barati “you can ask Paula she saw it all from the camera on my dress!” 😂
😂👍🏼
She's literally walking him down the isle I'm dead
LOL!
Omg I didn’t think of that! 😂😂
Oh my gosh now I'm laughing thanks
And she leaves him at the altar.
Oh shit, you’re right
PSA: When you're trying to humiliate your ex, focus on their shittiness.
He wasn's humilliated, but he clearly checks his locks, windows and closet twice when he goes to sleep. Clearly, a win.
Also, don't show up in a wedding dress. That's just insane.
Rachel bloom probably deserves an Emmy for this moment. Not only did she pull off the crazy, but I don't think this is an easy song to sing. Lotta breath support needed.
Rosannasfriend She hates award shows
she's the winner of the award for not caring about award shows
She was alright, she's got big lungs.
Rachel bloom deserves an Emmy for every song she sand in this show they are AMAZING but yeah this song was great!
Sync lip obviously...
I still wonder what this moment was like in real life and not in Rebecca's head. Did she just go into a five minute monologue about her past to him?
I always imagined it as her just showing up and yelling this stuff angrily at him for 2 straight minutes, then storming out.
I'm pretty sure that's exactly what happened 😭the second hand embarrassment I experienced when I first watched this caused my soul to fuckin astral into hell... But now I listen to the song just for fun 💀💀💀

Which I know is the point, but despite knowing how toxic Rebecca's behavior was, part of me still wanted her to get a proper angry confrontation about him literally LEAVING HER AT THE ALTAR
This didn't happen, the series shows you that she doesn't sing well in real life. She probably just shouted at him all this stuff

i just sent my ex a letter explaning exactly why I think he is pathetic, calling him everything I hoped would trigger him to feel some kind of negative emotion towards me. also I put a shit ton of glitter in the envelope and told him that I hope that with every speck of glitter he will inevitably find until eternity he will think of me and be triggered again by the words I said to him in the letter
@@sanschmidt5457 i mean what if the letter got lost in the mail?
@@TheBLT883 I'll never know if he got the letter and what his reaction might have been, of course. Can't really change that
@@sanschmidt5457 why would he be triggered by you unless you're the wrong doer?
Agreed! Vinnie is an awesome actor!
I love how if you saw this without context you would assume Josh was the protagonist of the series, really highlights how well the show represents what BPD can do to you
Wait why would someone think that?
@@enderfemAll of these actions, even with context, are pretty antagonistic.
I mean, in her defense…running over the cat was an accident, and even then, he turned out OK.
Dork Princess I guess a lot of things were an accident, like getting trapped having to watch him have sex, but a lot of those accidents happened while she was stalking him, and stalking is still wrong -_-
She just kinda smacked it not ran it over smh. Fake news
Yep, something I liked about that was they did everything to help the cat AND THEN they found out there would be consequences.
They weren't trying to soften the blow, they legitimately felt bad and wanted to make up for it.
I like that she brings up the cat so much when she's trying to pay penance and its one of the only things that was truly an accident
To be fair she wouldn't have run the cat over if she wasn't stalking the girl, plus the whole breaking into her business to delete the evidence, so, I am counting the cat thing, a share of guilt tho, Valencia was there as well.
"i made out with my boss when we got stuck in the ELEVATOOOR!" my favorite part
bro i literally could not stop thinking about the way she sings this line i had to find this video to watch it again
I love this song💜💜💜
I get goosebumps everytime she sings the last lines "but now..." I get excited with her, like, YES REBECCA, KICK HIS ASS!
It's also so telling that the first version of the song is "after everything i've done for you" and this version is "after everything you made me do." God these writers are good
@@emmastanton112**1😊😊
I audibly gasped and grabbed my mom's arm when the music started. I have a serious thing for reprises.
I was in this big discussion about what songs should be reprised and what plot points would lead to those reprises, but no one guessed this.
Oh my god I want to be in on that discussion. None of my friends like musicals so I can't geek out with them about this show :'-(
I grabbed my boyfriend's arm! Eek!
HOW did I JUST realize that she literally forced him down the aisle just like she was planning to do figuratively???
Ooh!! That’s a good point
And she leaves him just like he left her at the alter
Bradly C That's on you...there was nothing stopping you from watching the musical numbers
no, i am saying that the music numbers did not appeal to me in the past....so i would just skip them. now they are worth watching.
She walked him down the isle whilst they were both wearing the clothes they were going to be married in, the irony is beautiful
Fan theory: this is the only song that doesn’t happen in Rebecca’s head. She actually sang this to josh.
except she sounded so much worse lol
Oop
Only there wasn't background band music
I don’t think she actually sang it to him. I think she lost it and screamed everything at the church in front of all those people. It just transformed into a song in her head. It doesn’t make sense that she would actually have the guy play music for her song at church. In Catholic Church it would be profanity. So, no, I don’t think it actually happened anywhere besides in her own head.
What was the first song that's not imaginary? I remember it's that song Heather sang for Greg
I watched this entire number with my mouth open. Oh my god.
The greatest moment of the show so far, but considering the pace of the season, it's bound to be topped in a few weeks. I mean, oh my god.
Jerie C. I KNOW. My personal favorite before was Rebecca's Reprise but FRIIIICK this was so much more intense!
Already topped it this week with Paula and Josh's knowledge of the envelope contents
I can't believe Rebecca spilled all her guts like that. in a church, in front of a congregation. The fallout from this is gonna be wild.
They must think she's insane also an added punch she did it in a wedding dress.
Despair Spreads Like a Virus well, at least she finally got to walk down the aisle.
Maybe it's like her atonement when people publicly confess.
The thing I love about this song is that when Paula sang it, it sounds so insane and cartoonish without context, but with Rebecca singing it, it’s insane but we get it
For sure. Paula's version was somewhat amusing. There's nothing funny about this at all. Except perhaps for the iconic toilet and heartbreak line.
Laura Kelly I yelled DANGIT JOSH At the Tv like I was there... What is my life?
You absolutely should be rooting for her
We shouldn't root against her??? You missed the point...
I have never hated Josh so much until he thought it was "all good" when she was done. No dumb ass you are hiding in a church because you left her at the alter and are too immature to show your face to anyone that knows you
Rebecca is FINALLY showing Josh her craziness (as if it wasn't obvious before) Can't wait for the aftermath!
Roy Thingamajig i can't goddangit wait
"You lack brains and ability." Thank God she FINALLY sees that.
@TheBobBrom Harvard and Yale, baby
@TheBobBrom I thought we were talking specifically about "brains and ability". In the case of mental stability, she's definitely not the brightest. But in terms of achievements and academe, she's proven to be highly capable.
TheBobBrom
Obviously. The song literally highlights how bad a partner and not ready for marriage _she_ was. But the niceness of her line about Josh was that part of her craziness involved not seeing his obvious flaws. So it was nice to hear her finally be aware of how dumb and lacking as a partner (and adult) Josh was.
@TheBobBrom Doesn't she have an IQ of 150 or something?
@TheBobBrom but the original comment is about brains and ability.
This song is so good at capturing the resentment of someone with a martyr complex, it honestly has me kind of shook. I remember when Paula sang it I was losing my shit at how horrible she was being and to see Rebecca on the other side of it was an amazing reprise.
I think this relationship was the real shitshow 😂
I always thought hers with Greg was the healthiest relationship she ever had, since neither of them were obsessing over the other to an unhealthy degree. It was just their own internal problems they had to work through on their own before they could have a meaningful relationship.
“Red it a heart that beats free! It’s also Greg. It’s Greg...”
@@Kyran1996 agreed, I think the finale hinted that her and Greg got together eventually.
I honestly forgot just how crazy Rebecca's antics were until this song summed it all up.
It seems like a mild escalation over time throughout the series but when you stop and reflect it’s A LOT
Good thing he's in a church because he just got dragged to hell and back
Lieutenant Thalia GOD yes. ♥
In the scene before this maybe.
This song was her just implicating herself in a bunch of horrible shit lol
More like she dragged herself for 2 minutes
RB said that she sees this show as a 4-season arc, so I hope we get to see season 4!
this was a good reminder that this is still the story of a "Crazy" ex girlfriend underneath all the hoppy musical numbers. brilliant!
And yet this was one of the healthiest things Rebecca has done in a long time.
UHh.. was it?
Superphilipp Agreed! That's saying something.
Yo when Josh adjusts himself when she said “I’ve held you up despite the fact that you lack brains and ability” Goals
Did anyone ever calculate how much money Rebecca spent trying to get with Josh?
Good gods she is terrible with money.
Millions.
It's possible she made enough at the new york law firm to sustain that
@@mundanejane353 In season 1, we learn that she never saved money when she was in New York or invested it. But still.
She talks about it in one of the seasons when she stars treatment
Not just spending money, but also paying off Darryl’s ex wife for making it look like she was trying to smuggle things out of the country 😂😂😂
Why did she do that? She wanted to prove to Greg she was a good person so that Greg would hype her up to Josh (surface) but also because it conflicts with her view of herself to have him say she’s selfish (deeper)
Well...safe to say shes getting another golden globe nomination.
Dude, she doesn't CARE about award shows!
germankiwigal except the award for not caring about award shows.
Fingers crossed!

yeah about that....
I love that this show actually holds its characters accountable for their actions (most of the time...nobody's perfect!). It's so rare and so refreshing.
One hell of a reprise. I'm looking forward to Crazy Ex Girlfriend on Broadway!
Personally, I liked Paula's version better but Rebecca's version puts the "crazy" in Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.
agreed. as much as i enjoyed this reprise, there were so many syllables forced into each line xP
I think the same. Paula's is better.
Paula's version reminded me of Kathy Bates in misery and no one can say I'm wrong
Paula is definitely better in vocal ability. She’s got some mad pipes bro. But Rebecca’s was definitely better with the dramatic flare.
"I told him everything..."
Caitlin Cobern paula; "fuck."
Caitlin Cobern , "I told him EVERYTHING!?"
And the reaction on her face! priceless.
Rachel Bloom is an absolute star. Her voice can be so amazing, and her acting is top notch. This is my favourite song in Crazy Ex Girlfriend because Rebecca finally told Josh the truth, and really ripped into him. After leaving her at the altar, he deserves much more than to just get yelled at
On any other show, this would be season finale-level tension. This show brings it every single week. Bravo.
I hate that he felt absolved after this. Of EVERYTHING.
Josh Skudlarek cant believed i was jobecca trash and squealed when they kissed after court , josh is so fucking stupid

kittyquiqui that's exactly what nathaniel said. But she has been living with all that so now that it's off her chest she feels better. But she only just opened a door she didn't want opened.
It’s so important to me that Rebecca says that she “had” to do these things. I know that’s the whole point. But like, seriously.
I'm pretty sure, while watching the episode, I audibly shrieked when the song's theme started to play
When I heard the horns coming in, I screamed "IT"S THE SONG OH MY GOD YES I LOVE THIS OH MY GOD" and almost choked because I was eating chocolate.

Oh, me too. I was so excited! Love a good reprise.
Lol me too!
Aha yeah Rebecca was wrong for most of the stuff she did out of her obsession for Josh
But oh my god it pissed me off so much when he was like “Oh yeah I have nothing to feel guilty for”. Like NO, you’re still at fault as well haha
CamRae I know it annoyed me so much when he acted like he’d been absolved
Haven't watched a single second of this show and that just floored me with how well-written and well-performed that was. Wow.
listen when she started telling him all the crazy shit she's done since the first season my fight or flight response kicked in
when Paula sang this song, she goes: "After everything I've for you, that You didn't ask for" wich means that even when she is wrong with all that she did, she asume responsability for her actions...but Rebecca sang: " After everthing You made me do, that You didn't ask for"... still justifiying her motives and blame them onto Josh...he is no saint, but her lirycs shows how unwell she still is at this point 👀
the most unbelievable part about this is how the people in the background look completely unfazed
Literally best show ever
Favorite moment: "i 'm the one who should be up there on that cross", Josh face say he want to fight that profanity but also he knows he dont have the moral superiority at that moment XD
This is it. The moment where the entire show takes a different terrifying turn.
When this song started and I realized what was about to happen….so much hype
I'm just consistently impressed by her (and/or the writers') ability to weave variant versions of CEG songs into relevant moments. This draws a connection between Paula, the original singer of this song, back when the Josh/Rebecca situation was still an unhealthy obsession in her life. She realized that eventually and adjusted her life accordingly, but this song being modified for Rebecca and sung by her further demonstrates the dysfunction of her relationship with Josh and the unhealthy role it's played in her life.
This is one of, if not, the BEST EPISODE OF CRAZY EX-GIRLFRIEND!!!
I don't know why, but I really love the face he makes after she says he "lacks brains and ability" it is such a quick moment but he looks so believably hurt.
when I saw this live I gave a standing ovation at the end! It is just so perfect!!!!!
OMG SAME!
Live at the studio?
@@beckhampang191 No, live when it aired
I love that Rebecca is basically singing the same song as Paula and same role as her, but also with more crazy in the song because she's literally CRAZIER than Paula! So spot-on.
1:45 onwards true expression of anger, sorrow and pain. Rachel you are one talented gal
I just love the way the lyrics flow at "Welcome to the hell I'm living" it's a masterpiece in music and lyrical writing
"I held you up despite the fact you lack brain and ability" PREACH SISTER TELL HIM!!!!
One of my favourite lines. I realize Rebecca is a little nuts, but Josh is a loser.
sweetbaybabz yea he better grow up and do something for himself
@Jordan Brendmoen yeah, crazy women cheering on another crazy bitch. Who would have guessed?
she has time and time again used his "dumbness" which really it's just his naviety and trusting character. to lie and manipulate him non stop. honestly Josh is a sweet caring guy and just doesn't focus on being a "pyscho intellectual " yes rebecca has her very good caring traits but u can never trust her except in those moments where she admitted her lies and came clean but seldom ever did that with Josh especially in season 1 and 2 which made me not like her for that. she's always lying and shcheming and sometimes doing some really horrible things and sometimes doesn't make up for it but most the time she does which must be exhausting to keep on fixing dumb mistakes for being an "intellectual" lol.
I'm surprised they can all forgive each other like that but I guess that's what makes the show great, understanding and forgiveness and fixing problems , but I really didn't like how Rebecca ended if with all 3 guys just falling head over heels for her just seems narcasistic and unrealistic I mean their all very likeable ppl in their own way.
i read this comment at the exact time she sings it
and i read a previous comment about the line "when i made out with my boss when we got stuck in an elevator" at the exact time she sings it too
it was very entertaining for that to happen to me twice
Love how half of these are out of context to make her sound more crazy... a reflection of the whole show's theme
I mean heck, running over the cat and watching him have sex were all accidental lol
absolutely!!! the crazy ex girlfriend may be crazy, but she's never as crazy as it sounds. no one's crazy for no reason after all
I appreciate that this is the only moment Rebecca acknowledges that Josh isn't the brightest. It's not that she didn't know it... It just never mattered to her.
Rebecca wanted to destroy Josh Chan and ended up destroying herself. Well, I guess she’s already been destroying herself since the beginning, sadly.
Upon reflection this number is made even better knowing that actually during this she was probably spiraling and jyst screaming all this stuff at Josh Chan.
"I'm the one who should be up there on that cross" makes me laugh so much 😂😂😂
I love that Rebecca is just mad at herself, while Josh was just some random inmature guy she got obsessed with.
Josh is not doing things right, but Rebecca is the perfect example for a self-destructive person.
No joke, this was so epic I stood up and applauded at the end of the song.
In my own living room.
While I was home alone.
When you watch this for the first time, it's kinda funny.
Then it becomes darker and darker and more scarier, the more you watched it.
Lavisha Sharma the first time i was like “Pls dont tell Josh the whole *EVREYTHING* Rebecca!!!” But your right
And yet I can’t stop.
Am I the only one who very passionately but silently screams with Rebecca WHEN WE GOT STUCK IN AN ELEVATOR part every single time? Just me? Okay.
Me toooo 💕
I love the way she sings "I made out with my boss when we got stuck in an elevator", almost bragging about it
I love a good confessional.
Hate it when a character is totally oblivious or lied to/kept in the dark forever about theses things.
Rachel bloom is such a good actor and singer! She's amazing!
I love how well this scene puts you into Rebecca's mindset. Like yeah this was a terrible idea and ended up doing way more harm than good but by GOD was it cathartic in the moment.
This song broke me on my first watch through of this show.
I love how real this show is. You feel sympathy for Rebecca while also realizing hey, this girl needs help, she's kinda insane. Everyone has a Rebecca in them.

Emeline I was wondering if it was an hommage to "Empty Chairs At Empty Tables". Anyone knows wether Rachel Bloom commented on the matter?
I haven't seen anything said by her on the subject but I think it has to be, I was shocked at the beginning of the song by how close the music was, but then it changed a bit from Empty Chairs ^^
Literally every single song in this show is a masterpiece.
Her face when she mentions Josh asking Valencia to move in perfectly captures the fear and literal craziness people have when in that state
help i have been watching this since yesterday non stop rachel really outdid herself with the singing and dont even have me started with her acting. She deserved so much award for this! Vincent is also great at this. He makes me proud as a filipino! 🤍 I love crazy ex girlfriend so much, like hundo p.
Hundo p. Agreed
I mean same
I love that she has Nathaniel now and that she is trying to get herself healthy instead of continuing to obsess over him.
Yeah because Rebecca's totally blameless by continuing to pursue a guy who has a long-time girlfriend.
Fiorenza Agazzi Not to forget how he treated Valencia back in season 1... he clearly knew that she wanted a more serious relationship, that she wanted to get married and all that, but instead of telling her that he isn't ready for this, he always avoided the topic and lead her on until she finally saw through his bullshit and broke up
I was on the edge of my bed watching this. What a moment in the series.
Rewatching this I never realized the church organ player was playing the song. Joah turning his head to the Organ player and back to Rachel was hilarious, Tiny details like this is what makes this show so great.
This is one of my favorite moments in TV history and Rachel Bloom deserves all the credit for this amazing payoff.
Best.
Reprise.
Ever.
When watching the show a lot of the things Rebecca did kinda made sense in the moment, but when she lists them I see how crazy she is
I honestly felt so many goosebumps while listening to this song. This episode was even more brilliant than the first for season 3!
SO FREAKING OBSESSED WITH THIS REPRISE
I don't know which version to choose, Paula or Rebecca?!
Musi IKR
I personally liked Paula's better but it was close
I refuse to choose. It's impossible.
Paula's was more powerful tbh
Why do we pit women against each other... how about, who sang it equal? XD
Best song of the night!
